For the truly clueless edit

I think this page needs a serious definition of the term, as it relates to Wikipedia. -- œ 06:00, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The root of cluocracy, clew, is associated with a ball or sphere, from the German kliuwa, almost as if early English speakers had seen the puzzle ball icon after navigating to Wikipedia's main page.Tamanoeconomico (talk) 16:46, 31 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Cluocracy vs. ClueBot edit

I think that "Wikipedia:CLUE" should redirect to User:ClueBot NG. Kitty 56 (talk) 18:36, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

a jewel edit

in my view this is one of the most important essays in WP. A little jewel. Jytdog (talk) 09:28, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Examples edit

"Some Wikipedia processes represent attempts to legislate Clue." - any specific examples? Siuenti (씨유엔티) 09:32, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

It is something you see arise sometimes at policy/guidelines discussions when people try to turn them into rulebooks and get hyperdetailed. The general principles are what matter and there is no end to proposing detailed permutations to try to address people who don't have clue. Jytdog (talk) 19:14, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
So attempts to legislate Clue are misguided? I didn't get that from the essay, could the word "misguided" be added to clarify? Siuenti (씨유엔티) 20:39, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes they are. I have always kind of loved the terseness of this whole thing, including that sentence. Adding "misguided" is kind of legislating clue :) Jytdog (talk) 21:04, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I will go away and attempt to grow a clue. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 22:10, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I hope that was not as upset as it sounds. Jytdog (talk) 22:17, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
I'm not upset at all, that was just my little joke. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 22:21, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
whew. tone is difficult to convey in written communication. :) Jytdog (talk) 22:24, 11 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

But It Doesn't edit

Frequently and in dramatic fashion. That this is an ideal should be noted - because incidents where democracy, if not a near proxy to anarchy, rules abound throughout the guide. Nosebagbear (talk) 15:19, 14 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
