August 3 edit

Request on 10:02:29, 3 August 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Wiki0920 edit

I'm writing about my submission "Hakan Başar" has been declined because of usin copyrighted material. However, it is my own translation from Turkish Wikipedia page. Also I have edited the Turkish one! Could you please revise it?

I am sorry. It was an old alert. What should I do for making it accepted? We don't have many references. In addition, references I used in "See Also" not only mention Hakan, all of them created for Hakan completely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wiki0920 (talkcontribs) 11:48, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki0920, What makes you think it is declined for reasons of copyright? Draft:Hakan Başar has been pushed back to you for totally different reasons. The full decline rationale is in the big pink box, amd the comment also says "Please see WP:MUSICBIO and WP:GNG" Fiddle Faddle 10:17, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

12:16:01, 3 August 2020 review of draft by AlikotoSam edit

I need help with checking the sources I have used. AlikotoSam (talk) 12:16, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have managed to put this draft together with some sources. However, I need some opinion on the sources I used considering this particular topic has been deleted before. Thanks.--AlikotoSam (talk) 12:16, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AlikotoSam, I have done so and   Declined the draft at this point in its existence. I made a misshit on the decline note which I have now corrected Fiddle Faddle 12:24, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Fiddle Oh ok. I was wondering for a second there. Thanks.-AlikotoSam (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:35, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Other eyes, please. AlikotoSam is making a strong argument on their talk page that I may be mistaken. I acknowledge that I may be, so would appreciate someone else checking. Fiddle Faddle 13:03, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, User:Timtrent - They are making a good-faith case that you are mistaken, but it is not a strong argument that you are mistaken. Most cryptocurrencies are just play money or poker chips, and this looks like another such case. Remember that the Wikipedia community has already determined that most cryptocurrencies are just play money, and most of their promoters are just street-corner gamblers. So you were right the first time in saying no. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:30, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Robert McClenon, perhaps you might offer a review? I agree with every word you have said. I just wished to be fair to the editor by asking without stating broadly what you have stated Fiddle Faddle 21:37, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:Timtrent, User:AlikotoSam - I will provide a review. I am not guaranteeing that I will check the references, but I will provide a review. If I determine that assessment will require a review of the references, and if I do not provide a review of the references, I will request a fourth party to review it. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:42, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Robert McClenon, no-one could ask for more Fiddle Faddle 06:28, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have declined the draft. It was already deleted after deletion discussions twice, and there doesn't appear to be any significant change since the last deletion discussion. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:19, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
User:AlikotoSam - There is a myth in Wikipedia that the key to getting any draft accepted is adding more sources. Sources are a necessary but not a sufficient condition for an article. Adding references will not necessarily establish notability. Sometimes it will, and sometimes it won't. When an article has already been deleted once after a deletion discussion, it is difficult to establish that the topic that previously was not notable has become notable. Adding more sources to Draft:Decred will not make the topic notable. Most cryptocurrencies are just play money, and most cryptocurrency promoters are just street-corner gamblers, and adding more sources is just writing more about street-corner gambling. Athlete has been noted in the international press, it seems that it could be published with the standard informations that are being backed up by the references.

15:06:15, 3 August 2020 review of draft by 24.148.92.51 edit

Hey. The submission for Aryeh Newman was declined and I don't fully understand why. The editor wrote "Give the facts of this career and publications; don't advocate for his opinions". Should the part about his religious views not be included? Other articles about religious scholars include the scholar's views so I'm a little confused. Thanks.

16:32:54, 3 August 2020 review of submission by ToFf edit

Can someone please review this draft. I removed some unreliable references and added secondary references. Also here are some of the criteria about musical notability that I think the subject of the draft meet (I added some references here just to serve as "proofs")

- Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble who created it. (Craig Xen has been the subject of articles published by XXL, Notion, BroadwayWorld, Genius and Medium. Links : [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

- Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels. (Craig Xen has two projects, Broken Kids Club and Hell Bent, and multiple songs released by label Empire). Links : [6] [7]

- Is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles. (Craig Xen has been a prominent member of both hip hop collectives Schema Posse and Members Only)

- Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country. (Craig Xen went on tour in different American states and different countries in Europe like UK and Ireland and performed at Rolling Loud festival Links : [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

User:ToFf - It isn't necessary to post multiple requests for a re-review of your draft. You won't get paid twice just by asking for a re-review twice. It annoys the reviewers, and so makes it less likely that you will get paid at all. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:19, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if I'm wasting your time again. I am just trying my best to improve this draft so it could possibly become an article. Can you tell me what's wrong this time. I showed above the criteria that I think are good. Maybe they are not, but tell me what is exactly wrong. I am just asking for help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ToFf (talkcontribs) 00:18, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GaneshTiwari80 (talk) 23:28, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

GaneshTiwari80 You don't ask a question, but Wikipedia is not a place for people to tell the world about themselves. This is because people naturally write favorably about themselves, and Wikipedia tries to have a neutral point of view. Please review the autobiography policy. This is an encyclopedia, where articles about people must be shown with significant coverage in independent reliable sources to meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. Please see Your First Article for more information. In order for you to succeed in writing a Wikipedia article about yourself, you in essence need to forget everything you know about yourself and only write based on the content of independent sources- that is usually very difficult for people to do about themselves If you just want to tell the world about yourself, you should use social media. 331dot (talk) 23:50, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
GaneshTiwari80 I explained this on your talk page the previous day. Deb (talk) 09:14, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
