Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Assessment/2011

  • Current assessments endorsed. Please ask if you require further details. G.A.Stalk 11:04, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Done - the |language= and |trans_title= parameters should be added where applicable. G.A.Stalk 04:29, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I kept its rating the same. I added suggestions to the discussion of that article. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 11:08, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Eroge - is this article really substantial enough to be C-class? --Malkinann (talk) 09:55, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is C-Class, but failed most B parts. The popular eroges section is completely unsourced and could be better written in prose, while the citations need some work.Tintor2 (talk) 12:12, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Considering the issues I noted, I think it Malkinann is right, and it could be reconsidered C-Class once the tags' issues are resolved. Changed to Start Class.Tintor2 (talk) 15:16, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • If it was better sourced, I would have said yes (although marginally, but this was the whole reason why C class was adopted. The article is clearly not B class, but, contains a lot more than the example start class article--although a lot of it is not related to WP:ANIME). G.A.Stalk 05:04, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - would like a re-assessment by an experienced WP anime & manga editor. If re-assessment indicates a downgrade, definitely provide details as to why and what should be fixed. If not, assess for GA status so the needed work can be done. Thanks! -BloodDoll (talk) 10:17, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • This looks pretty good. Good article assessment is done external to the WikiProject to get input from the wider Wikipedia community. So you will need to go to Wikipedia:Good article nominations and follow the directions there to submit this article. From what I've seen here, this is probably close to being ready. The one area that might need to be tightened up is the characters section; in many articles they've opted to move the list entirely to a side page, and just mention a few main characters in the text of the plot section. Though, the way it is now is another valid way of doing it. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 11:41, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Heaven's Memo Pad I think it meets a C-class, and I would like to know if it can be improved to get an B and how. pmt7ar (talk) 22:39, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Assessed at C-class by DragonZero. – Allen4names 08:23, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think its close to B class. Add a DVD cover and rewrite some things and I'd rate it a B. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 23:05, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • In my opinion, only a DVD cover is required to upgrade the article to C class Upgraded to C class after checking examples, and as DragonZero say, only a little bit more and it will be B class. G.A.Stalk 04:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Cheers, I just like to know what's to be done. --Malkinann (talk) 01:32, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Done. C class and Start class respectively, hidden comments left for the former. G.A.Stalk 05:04, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • ... and Holmes no Mokushiroku. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 18:43, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Reassessed. ... . As for Holmes, given the structure, grammar and amount of plot vs. non-plot info, the use of the screenshot doesn't seem to be justified (the text only mentions 1 character).Jinnai 15:57, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Rated C-Class. Left comment in the talk page about the issue. This is actually the first time I assess an article, so a third opinion would be welcome.Tintor2 (talk) 11:17, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Assessment endorsed. Goodraise 14:16, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kira Yamato - Requesting for assessment after doing some clean up. Sadly, I have no idea where to find creation information regarding the character, so I wanted to know if parts require a better explanation. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 00:44, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Looks like a lot of improvement but not quite B-Class yet. I see no problems in the referencing and layout of this article, so I've passed it on those two points. I'm reluctant to pass it on coverage because it is missing a character creation section, you might take a quick look at the MOS to see (if you haven't already) if you've missed anything. For example you may want to talk more about the voice actors if sources are available. (I couldn't find any creation info either, perhaps you may find some in dvd commentary or interviews?) --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 11:08, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, I couldn't find anything about creation of the character.Tintor2 (talk) 11:28, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know, you said that in your request. But like I said "I'm reluctant to pass it on coverage because it is missing a character creation section". It needs to be rounded out a bit more, so I suggested the MOS as a way to get more ideas. I wasn't suggesting that you didn't know you needed that section or that you weren't looking at the MOS. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 06:38, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Could add a small paragraph, although I don't if it is enough.Tintor2 (talk) 00:23, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting since that's the first time I heard of that... 22:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Listing prices for music and drama CDs might be a bit much. WP:NOT#DIR point 5. Extremepro (talk) 03:13, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mai Mai Miracle seems to be tagged as "low importance" on the assessment scale right now. I wonder why that is so. It's a Madhouse production, and I've for the past couple of days fleshed out the article a bit (more is coming).--Paracel63 (talk) 20:09, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • This version of the article was originally assessed in 2009, before having debuted in Japan, or "achieved wide commercial success or critically acclaimed outside of Japan". Reassessed as mid-importance. G.A.Stalk 04:27, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maid Sama! - was recently reassessed as C-class but without the B-class checklist being filled out. B-class checklist please. --Malkinann (talk) 01:32, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 06:03, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mobile Suit Gundam SEED - A big article I have been working during last week. I do not know if the article still needs work to be B-Class, so I thought about requesting here.Tintor2 (talk) 21:07, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • B, looks like it can reach GA soon. Is the controversy that notable to be included in the article? DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 03:16, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know. It was added even before I saw the article. I'm not very good with controversy sections, but they never state if such scene affected the series. Maybe it's worthwhile mentioning in another section.Tintor2 (talk) 12:12, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Muv-Luv - Massive cleanup and reorganization of the article with the inclusion of references for the manga and novel releases as well as the upcoming anime series. Still trying to work on sources for the game releases. —Farix (t | c) 19:03, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Done - some references still require an English translation, and the article requires a reception section, but otherwise very good. G.A.Stalk 04:48, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, though I would like some supporting comments on the article's talk page because some IPs were complaining that the reorganization made the article "terrible". But exactly what do you mean by "references still require an English translation". Do you mean the use of |trans_title=? Because I doubt I will find any reliable sources for the games that aren't in Japanese. —Farix (t | c) 03:00, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It might be better to ask the question about the IPs on WT:ANIME (or WT:VN) (Otherwise I can only respond much later). With regard to the translation, yes, I meant |trans_title=. G.A.Stalk 08:57, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Done - some references still require the original titles instead of plain URLs, and article still needs completion as new episodes air. G.A.Stalk 04:48, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Content is C but due to the references and terminology section, I'd keep it at start. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 09:06, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • If the content is C, why keep it at start? The C-class guidelines state that C-class articles "may still require substantial cleanup" or can contain "a lot of irrelevant material" - which I believe are your objections to the terminology and references sections. --Malkinann (talk) 09:12, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A few pointers as to where you found the OR would be appreciated, if possible. I still don't see it. Cyn starchaser (talk) 01:33, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ranking as C. The article looks like it needs to be rewritten to comply to the Manual of Style. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 06:26, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! If possible, could you tell me why it failed the structure criteria? I'm assuming it's the lack of a merchandise and/or reception section, or is there something else? Cyn starchaser (talk) 15:48, 18 February 2011 (UTC)*List of Case Closed volumes (1–20) DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 03:16, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Rated B-class. If it were a FAC, I would try adding more context to the change of cases, with one ending in volume, and the next one starting in the same one adding words like "In another case, following chapters feature, etc.". The template of introduction could also be discussed but I see no issues for a B-class.Tintor2 (talk) 16:54, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Son Goku - I'm not sure when it was last assessed but it's been sitting at C-class for a while now. It's well-referenced from what I can tell and it's legible, so possibly a B-class?--GroovySandwich 08:46, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Upgraded to B class, but a second opinion will be welcome. G.A.Stalk 04:48, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Spriggan (manga) - Been updating the article with getting fresh links and all. Also need to figure out the manga section if I should table up foreign publishers (aside from Japan) on whether the publication is complete or not in their respective countries. Ominae (talk) 01:43, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Done - C class. The plot section still need some work - it currently reads like a teaser. A seperate organisations section might also not be required. G.A.Stalk 04:50, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Tegami Bachi - I did a little cleanup for this article and would like someone to reassess it again. Furthermore, details of how to further improve the article will be very welcomed. Thanks!--Lionratz (talk) 08:11, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would support B class, but would like a second opinion. G.A.Stalk 04:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Current assessments endorsed. Please ask if you require further details. G.A.Stalk 11:04, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yoshiko Nishitani - should be 'high' or 'top' importance, as she introduced the idea of the schoolyard romance to shoujo manga. --Malkinann (talk) 23:31, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Based on the quality of the source, I would say that that could reliably be placed as Top Importance, simply because of her innovation. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 11:27, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • List of X episodes. I've never worked too much on TV episodes list, so I don't know what it needs or if the title should be changed. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 17:10, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Done - C class (almost B). G.A.Stalk 05:09, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
