Arles/Ares edit

Hi, by general consensus between us, the ones that contribute to the Saint Seiya articles, we use the Arles spelling, as we all know the god Ares is part of Kurumada's universe, and thus, the Arles rendering is used to distinguish him from the god. In the anime, it was never mentioned the god Ares possessed Saga, and in the manga, Aries Mu explains clearly it wasnt possession neither, as Saga suffered from split personality.

So, for purposes of avoiding confusion, the Arles rendering is used, similar as in the pages for Lost Canvas, for the Specter Violate, as it has been speculated by many that Violette could be the correct rendering of the name, Violate is used simply to avoid edit wars until an official transliteration is available. In any case, if you feel uncomfortable with the Arles rendering, we can simply remove him from the list completely. Regards. Onikiri (talk) 00:07, 8 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello, any doubt you have feel free to ask, we will be glad to help. Of course, Episode G and Lost Canvas are not canon, and the latter must I add, it's the worst thing that has happened to Saint Seiya, but articles about it are inevitable. I prefer to work mostly on the articles about Kurumada's manga, I have written the character list of the original manga for the most part, although i have contributed to all articles about SS. About Arles, I think you can just ignore him in the list xD, if you dont want to remove him, as he is barely mentioned in the anime-only characters list, which was created to make the main list easier to read. List of Saint Seiya characters: merges/splits edit

Hello, all characters are to be merged. I did all the Gold Saints, I only have Saga left. The Bronze Saints, we agreed to merge all of them, but since theyre the protagonists, I think they can remain unmerged, but it can be done. The good thing about merging is that it helps avoid all the useless or fake info some people add, so thats one of the reasons to do the merges. About the article length, thanks for letting me know, it was discussed that maybe the main list can be split in sub articles for each category of characters, but we never got to agree, maybe we can find a solution. Take care.Onikiri (talk) 17:38, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

ND edit

Hi there! I'm Tetsu Aero on SSF. Are you the same Cyn from Goldenstar? If you are i wanted to notify you that i have scanlated ND 24 - 29. THey just need a translation check. But after they are done i won't be continuing scanlating ND due to real life issues. Just a heads up :) Refuteku (talk) 16:27, 23 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ah good, the chapters just need translation check. 27 and 28 are done. So thanks but i'm okay for the moment :)--Refuteku (talk) 18:48, 23 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I kept it as Hisō byaku-renge, with "White Lotus Ice Lances" between two brackets (). Wordly from the japanese i believe it would be "White Ice Lotus Lances". But since the lances are of ice, the change of word order is better. Refuteku (talk) 11:44, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

May 2012 edit

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Fate/Zero, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. (Fate/Zero is the actual name of the first season of anime and should not be removed. No, it's not called 'Fate/Zero first season'.) θvξrmagξ contribs 00:52, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Your edits to Fate/Zero edit

I know you're acting in good faith, so let me explain why the label "Fate/Zero" isn't actually a redundant infobox parameter.

Basically, there are actually two tv anime seasons, but both are two halves of the same thing. The first is called Fate/Zero. The second is called Fate/Zero 2nd Season. This is according to the official website. The thing is, the first season isn't a complete Fate/Zero story. It's half the plot, it's a first season. It could be called 'Fate/Zero 1st Season', but for some reason ufotable didn't give that season that name. However, it still needs a name. Otherwise, there's the problem of being misleading - this implies that the first season is a complete representation of F/Z and that season 2 is secondary and thus merits its own name, when it actually shares equal billing with the second season. The only problem is that ufotable didn't call it 'first season' - if they had, there would be no dispute about leaving the name in, right? Unlike other anime, say, Naruto vs Naruto: Shippuden, Fate/Zero and Fate/Zero 2nd Season are not truly separate (except in time aired). There is no timeskip in between, or even a difference in plotlines. Removing the name for F/Z suggests that the first season is 'main' and stands on its own while the 2nd season has a disconnect or is a form of sequel, but such is not the case - something unique to F/z in this regard.

I'll add a reference so the change makes more sense but please actually read the edit summary I provided before reverting without discussion, I know what a redundant infobox parameter is.

Thanks. θvξrmagξ contribs 00:20, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I did read your edit summary, which is why I left you a reasoning for my edit the second time. I don't think it's misleading to leave that first season without a specified title since the text in the article clears up any misconceptions before they can be formed. Also, the fact that the second season is actually called second season implies that it's a continuation of the first. Either way, now that you know that that category was being triggered, I'll leave it to you to address the issue however you find more appropriate.
Cheers. :) Cyn starchaser (talk) 00:57, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

7 Seeds edit

Hello, Cyn starchaser!

My user name is NatsuX, and I'm really happy to find an experienced wikipedia user who loves 7 Seeds as well and gives it his all to improve the information available on this awesome manga! I'd like to ask you for your help in case you can spare some time for us...? :-)

Currently, I'm pretty much representing a group of 7 Seeds fans whose goal is to collect enough supporters, so that we can recommend 7 Seeds to a publishing company and get it licensed in English language. This way, 7 Seeds could be sown around the entire world!

We'd so love to support Tamura-sama financially, but most of us abroad can neither speak nor read Japanese. But if there were licensed, officially published volumes in English language available, we could buy and read them with no problems.

So I thought if we update and improve the website with all the info on 7 Seeds, we can show it to the publisher we'll choose and make him get interested in this series. A well-built site with all the important information about 7 Seeds might attract more readers too, as they start searching for information about 7 Seeds once word about publishing it gets around.

But there's still a lot of work to be done on this site, and since I'm a complete wikipedia newbie, I'd like to ask for your experienced help to add and improve content.

I didn't know about the rule considering WP:NOR. Thank you very much for removing the literary criticism before I got into trouble! Though I don't really understand yet why you removed the spoiler alerts as well - I thought it would be useful to warn the fans in advance who don't like spoilers. (I, for my part, really hate getting too much information in advance, I wanna get surprised by the flow of the story.) And isn't 7 Seeds Josei genre, too? Many women love it.

A little bit painful to me was the removal of my catchphrase about the "hour of truth" and the butchering of my summaries written with all of my heart. I thought, the more beautifully the summaries are written, the more interested the publishers might become into 7 Seeds. Is there really a wikipedia rule saying that volume summaries shouldn't contain more than 300 signs? Wouldn’t they be glad if their editors add more content voluntarily? I mean, this isn't like this description is actually gonna be put in a back cover where you only have a certain amount of signs available. So wouldn't it be alright to write the summaries more suspenseful and heart-catching?

I'm really grateful to you adding the release dates and the ISBN's, since I cannot read Japanese and wouldn't have been completely sure whether it were really the right numbers. Were you the one who built up this table? In this case, would you be alright with it if we add the coverpage pictures (in a separate column next to the Vol. Nr.) as well to make it more eye-catching and insert a white, empty line between every volume so that the information blocs are visually separated and readable more easily? As from my experience, if the blocs are seen as a single big unit without any visual difference, it's visually more exhausting for the reader to make out the end and start of each volume.

Because I don't have any experience whatsoever with building tables and inserting images: if you're ready to support our 'improve wikipedia article to advertise 7 Seeds to a publishing house' project, maybe you could help me on that part, too? I don't know how to insert columns and rows, and I have no idea where I can find and insert the coverpage pictures legally.

I looked at the pages of Shokagukan and Amazon.co.jp, but everything there's written in Japanese; I couldn't make heads or tails of it, and the pics I saw were too small to use. I also didn't know how to re-size them since I didn't want to click on the Japanese words by chance.

I'd really like to work together with you in order to sow 7 Seeds to the entire world! :-D

Thank you very much in advance,

Editings on the table

Hi Cyn starchaser,

thank you very much for your detailed answer! :-D You gave me so much useful advice - and I was really glad about your encouragements. I now understand and accept your edits to make a more 'neutral' view for the readers possible.

The only thing I still wanted to change was adding the chapter names and making the table more easily readable - I hope it worked out and the changes are alright with everyone. I prepared the table so that we could easily include the coverpage pictures once we get the official permission of Shogakukan to use the images (I'll try getting it.) Until that time, there's a place-holder inserted in the second column.

Since I'm still a newbie at wikipedia, I hope you can continue to tell me if I made some mistakes.

Thank you very much in advance,

NatsuX NatsuX (talk) 20:17, 27 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

References and links

Hi Cyn starchaser!

Thank you very much for adding the fanbook info and checking the table design! :-D

You were probably a bit puzzled as to why I designed it with so much free space. This has a certain reason – sorry, I completely forgot to tell you. During my time at school, I met some nice pupils with dyslexia in a special class and learned a bit about how difficult it is for them to read big, chunked blocs of text. So I decided if I ever publish text, I’ll try designing it as visually comfortable as possible for this group of readers, too. They shouldn’t be discriminated even in the web. I’d really like to take the needs of handicapped people (who might be interested in this article but might be scared due to the big blocs of text) into account even if it’s just a fanarticle. Thus, I’d really like to keep the table the way it is now as long as it doesn’t really disturb anyone.

What I’d like to change though as per your suggestion, would be changing the color of the break lines. Pink is indeed not really ideal, and I only used it because it was in the example I copied from. I couldn’t find a list of color codes, though. I searched everywhere but to no avail. Could you please tell me where I can find the color codes so that I can choose the most suitable one? That dark blue was really cool, but before I go and change the entire table, I’d like to see the other colors as well. I’d like to do it in a style which suits the cover images of 7 Seeds perfectly.

Because I wanted to add some songs which played a big role in the manga but weren’t mentioned in a chapter title, I checked out your manga manual style again and thought, due to this part (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOS:AM#Production), it should be alright if I put this kind of info in a new section called “Production”. Could you please check it out? If it isn’t alright, please don’t delete it yet – just hide it ‘till we’ve found a better solution for that. Those songs were really important turning points of the story. I’m not completely sure about how to cite/quote them correctly, could you maybe please take a look at that?

I’d really be glad if you could add the Japanese signs to the chapter titles!! Sadly, I can’t speak or read Japanese (never had the time to learn it. Well, maybe it’ll work out someday). Meanwhile, I’ll link the song titles of the Minor Heat Chapter as far as possible.

Hiding the image…? Well, I guess you have a point there. But I’d like to keep it up at least for a few weeks to show my friends how this page is supposed to be (and fire them up more), then I’ll hide it. I’ll have to re-size it, though. How can I make it a bit smaller?

Thank you very much for all your help in advance,

NatsuX NatsuX (talk) 15:55, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! :-D

Hi Cyn starchaser,

thank you very much for adding the romaji for a number of the volumes!! It's a great idea, and this way the website will improve even more. Someone who liked our 7 Seeds website gave the Japanese signs to me and I added them, but I don't really know about all the Japanese romaji words.

Heh, you probably already saw the re-sized image and the line colors. Well, I tried out various line colors from your color table, but in the end your suggestion 009 still was the best one... ;-D

One thing still bugging me are the wikipedia links in the Minor Heat chapter section. Because I couldn't find proper wikipedia articles for most of them other than for the songs in the section Production, I had to settle for the sites I found, even if they mostly don't really count as good information sources. And because I can't read Japanese it's a bit difficult to gather information on the singers/songs and make up new English-languaged wiki articles. But, oh well. Maybe I can find a solution for that sometime later. There should be halfway decent translation programmes.

Thank you very much again for taking your time to support us with the romaji! It's much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Rainwater chapter

Hi Cyn starchaser,

thanks for your info - I asked someone else about the Rainwater chapter and was given the correct translations (you were right about them being a bit off) as well as the Japanese readings, so I inserted them right away.

Thank you SOO much for your help - the manga section looks really great and almost professional by now!! :-D All that I'd be missing now are the pics (hope we get the permisson to use them, I'm working on that) and the correct wikipedia articles. But for now, it doesn't look that bad, so I'll leave it be 'till we can get enough data to create proper sub-articles about the songs/authors. If you get some info on Japanese pages, just send the links to me. If I find a good translation programme, I might somehow gather enough of the gist of the info to put it up Wikipedia.

Hmm... guess I'll concentrate on gathering enough reliable support for the 7 Seeds manga. I'm still facing some major problems here, though:

- which Internet tool can we use to have everyone give his/her firm support for 7 Seeds? (and it has to be support in form of really being ready to buy the books; "faking" by having non-fans give their voice too wouldn't do our cause much good. It would also be unfair towards the money the publisher will have to invest in it (don't forget the bookmarket is a very hard and risky business these days! Since I love books and want to support their market, I want to do this properly so that it will really be the best for Tamura-sama, the publisher, all the dedicated fans and of course my most beloved manga. ;-) )

- how can we gather enough supporting voices in a verifiable way and still keep the privacy of all our supporters properly?

Do you happen to have some good ideas about that, perchance?

Thank you very much in advance,

NatsuX NatsuX (talk) 11:23, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Internet Poll

Hi Cyn starchaser,

sorry - I guess my question was indeed posed in a slightly bit confusing way. Thank you very much for your info, though! Our current situation is like this:

I have prepared each a letter to the publisher (whom we want to publish 7 Seeds in English language) and to Tamura-sama, the author telling them we want 7 Seeds to be published in English language so we can support it by buying and reading the series.

The plan is to do an internet poll to show them how many supporters 7 Seeds has all around the world and to insert the link to this poll in the letter.

Then the text of the letters would be printed out and sent per postal mail to make it more "official". In this letter, we'll also insert the info that around one or two weeks after that, at a certain date and time, the fans (who are willing to do this) will also send individual emails with a certain title to give their opinion and support about 7 Seeds directly. This should avoid the support emails to be ignored and land in the computer's waste bin without even being read.

But since I don't know how to do a poll which is both verifiable and protects the participants' privacy, I wanted to ask around for tips how to pull this off. Maybe you have an idea here?

Thank you very much in advance as always!

Reference links?

Hi Cyn starchaser,

I added the release date and ISBN of vol. 23 to the 7 Seeds manga section (but left out the content since I and many others don't want to be spoilered; many haven't read the latest volume yet). The ISBN seems OK, but something went wrong with the reference link next to the release date; it always links to vol.22's page. :-(( How can I do it correctly?

By the way, I also inserted the main animal characters of 7 Seeds as well as their race links since they often play an important role in the manga. How do you like it? :-D

Animals Section

Hi Cyn starchaser,

thank you very much for fixing it! It all works out now :-)

I decided to follow your advice and grouped the animals, adding some other animals as well. It looks really good now thanks to you - check it out and praise me! ;-)

New Wiki

Hi Cyn starchaser!

Maybe you've seen it already, but another senior wikipedia user called The Farix did a number of changes on the 7 Seeds wikipedia page. I talked with him [here], and when I understood his arguments were valid, I decided to leave the site as it is now with the minimal information about this manga and instead create a new mini wiki which gives all the additional info to the reader, but also keeps new readers from being spoilered by using an extra page for spoilery content. The link is [here]. Have fun checking it out! :-D

Don't worry, I'll still continue to update the main wikipedia page whenever there's a new volume or special information. But my heart belongs to the new wiki now ;-)) Thank you very much again for the many help I received from you!

Sorry, but I have reverted the title name for episode 4 back to Naruko Shoukichi. The official dubbed title is listed as such on Crunchyroll (the series is under the name Yowapeda), where the series is being simulcast, and is also listed as such on the English translation page for Yowamushi Pedal on TV Tokyo. If you have a specific source which can show it shouldn't contain the u in Shoukichi, then please post it. However fansubs will not be accepted over official sources which give the spelling.Bigddan11 (talk) 19:28, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't want to get into any sort of debate, but if it wasn't you that made the change, then someone else must have gained access to your account. The history of that particular change on the show pages history links directly with your user name. Sorry for any confusion it may have caused.
