Leuven Cricket Club

Hi, I am contesting the speedy deletion of Leuven Cricket Club, and request you to restore it kindly. The page is for an official cricket club affiliated to the Belgian Cricket Federation. There is no personal propaganda material there. Just because somebody else had made a not so notable page earlier, does not mean the current page was also bad. I was expecting feedback to improve it and in any case, I see that it is better than many other club pages. Many such club pages already exist on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Lancashire_League_cricket_clubs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accrington_Cricket_Club http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Cricket_Club http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todmorden_Cricket_Club -Davalumni (talk) 13:16, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leuven Cricket Club, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user JohnCD (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:35, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Meghan Chavalier

I am not sure why Meghan Chavalier's Wikipedia page was deleted. She is a very notable person in the world of entertainment having released two published books and multiple cds. She is also widely know for her work in the adult film industry having made over 175 movies and being the first transsexual contract player in that industry. She is also widely known for her activism with the LGBT Community with her Stopping The Hate Organization. I believe she is more than notable for Wikipedia. -98.223.249.86 (talk) 14:55, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Dan_Vaillancourt

Dan Vaillancourt is a well-known regional artist. I have a number of news articles to back up this claim and will add them to the Wiki entry if it is restored. In addition, he is the host of a popular online cooking show that has been featured on the front page of YouTube. I request that this page be undeleted. Hall High Chess Team

The Hall High Chess Team is the primier high school chess team in the state of Connecticut and thus certainly merits an article. It was unjustly deleted by an admin who probably knows nothing whatsoever about the topic, and, moreover, doesn't care. -Kiernanmc (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

High Impact Halo

Page was previously deleted as per Wikipedia:WEB in 2006. Page was recreated in 2007 and future creations of the page were blocked. Page should be recreated properly as per Wikipedia:Web noting the valuable historical significance of the website in question. Website in question is notable as per attention from Bungie, Halo.bungie.org, and the attention of over 16 thousand Halo (series) fans (see HIH member list). Page falls under the same situation as Halo.bungie.org, as both sites are extremely similar both in content and in recognition. Encyclopedic documentation for the site is long overdue. -Matortheeternal (talk) 05:32, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Not done. This was deleted after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/High Impact Halo so, as stated at the top of this page, it will not be undeleted here. I suggest you make a userspace draft and then approach user Mailer diablo (talk), the admin who closed the discussion; if he does not agree, you can take it to WP:Deletion review. I do not think the versions deleted in 2006 will be any help in making an acceptable article such as you describe. JohnCD (talk) 14:23, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Ed Alleyne-Johnson

The article was deleted due to the musician failing to meet the criteria at WP:MUSICBIO (see AfD discussion). However, the musician has had an album on the British music chart and therefore meets the criteria at WP:MUSICBIO.[1] -194.176.105.135 (talk) 11:21, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

If that's true then I wouldn't be opposed to allowing the article to be recreated but the version deleted was a poorly sourced BLP. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 13:13, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Article was originally deleted because "BLP that has been unsourced since 2007. No coverage found other than local news. But there is a lot of coverage for Robinson and his books beyond local news (Booklist, Library Journal, etc). The page just needs to be updated. -Veago87 (talk) 14:55, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Done – as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. I will notify user Michig (talk), who proposed it, in case he wishes to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion. File:El nacional stadium.jpg

I received the Orphaned non-free image notice in my talk page when the image was removed by an IP user. So I quickly put it back into the article. However, it was quickly removed and replaced by User:Suckermonster and I received a second Orphaned non-free image notice in my talk page. So I proceeded to—again—put the file back into the article but AGAIN User:Suckermonster undid my edit. I don't understand why User:Suckermonster replaced the File:El nacional stadium.jpg with a render of the new stadium when that render was already in a lower section of the article AND the new stadium has already been completed thus making the render obsolete. Had I known the image (El nacional stadium.jpg) was removed a third time, I would've put it back in and asked him why he kept removing it without an explanation. -MicroX (talk) 21:19, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Please attempt to resolve the issue with Suckermonster (talk · contribs) first. In general, we can only handle uncontroversial requests here. Such an image can only be restored if we are sure it will be used. Contact me with any questions, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 03:44, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Podcast Beyond

This article is part of the IGN page and I feel that it is a very large topic. Podcast Beyond has grown into a pretty large gaming phenomonon and the page should stay on Wikipedia to inform people about it. -Tortilene1 (talk) 17:38, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Not doneThis was deleted in 2010 after a deletion discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Podcast Beyond for lack of notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, and re-created and deleted again recently. If you think you can find independent sources to show notability, approach the most recent deleting administrator, user Peridon (talk); then, if your concerns are not addressed, you can go to WP:Deletion review. I am requesting this article be reinstated to Wikipedia. The Rebel Legion is an international Star Wars costuming organization created by, of and for people interested in creating costumes from the Star Wars mythos. Persons come here from all over the world to research, create, build and improve costumes in a place where costumers with similar passions share skills, tips and ideas. Jedi, Rebel Pilots, Troopers, Princesses and even Wookiees.... we've got them all. The Rebel Legion first appeared in mid-1999 and in the years since its formation, the group has grown from a few dozen Rebel costumers that talked to each other on the internet, to becoming the premier Rebel costuming group in the Star Wars community. Our membership is constantly increasing, and we have established our own presence in the world. We are recognized by George Lucas and all of his staff as the leading "Star Wars GOOD GUY" costuming organization on the planet. We have

  • 30 Bases in North America & Canada
  • 8 Bases and 1 Outpost in Europe
  • 1 Base and 2 Outpost in South America
  • 2 Bases and 5 Outposts in Asia/Pacific Area

This represents an increase over last year due to the expansion into more areas of the country and the world. While it is not sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd., Lucasfilm recognizes the Rebel Legion as a premiere volunteer Rebel costuming group. Star Wars, its characters, costumes, and all associated items are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm. Rebel Legion members appear at public venues, such as conventions, parades, fundraisers for charity, visit children’s hospitals, support educational and science centers, as well as a wide variety of other events. Our Mission is to bring Star Wars costume enthusiasts together by giving them a collective realm in which to operate. To promote the quality and improvement of Star Wars Costumes, and to follow the lead of Lucasfilm Ltd. By giving back to the community through charity work and volunteerism. We value each member regardless of gender, race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, nationality, or physical handicap. We also value the goals set down by LFL by giving all we can to the community. We have been recognized frequently in the Star Wars Newletter, "BANTHA TRACKS", have been featured at various functions including STAR WARS WEEKENDS at Disney, and have worked with Lucas and his staff on multiple conventions to make sure that the persons attending have a memorable experience. We are not the 501st and even though we work closely with our sister organization, we are a separate entity altogether.

If the reasons above arent enough reason to have the REBEL LEGION reinstated to WIKIPEDIA, please feel free to contact me personally and I will give you more infomration considering I am one of the Base Executive Officers for Virginia and West Virginia and the Merchandising Officer for the entire Rebel Legion.

The COI concern is minimal as User:KingChilla has no edits to the deleted article. We solve the problem by allowing any logged in editor who is not the subject and has no connection to the subject to write a new sourced article.   Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning people. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. If you think a legitimate article can be written about this person, then do so; but drop all the smarmy press-release artist's-agent stuff which got the last version deleted. CD publisher was cited in links as well as name of latest CD (The Journey Home) -Davidlewis39 (talk) 14:32, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

But how does he meet the requirements in WP:MUSIC? Every garage band has a CD ... but without notability, he's not encyclopedic...and thus the deletion is valid (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:41, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

NTEC, Inc.

G11 states An article about a company or a product which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion and I believe my point of view was neutral. I was adding in more content to address the other deletion concerns when it was deleted because it was considered "advertising". NTEC is a non-profit and doesn't stand to gain from advertising. The content wasn't biased toward or against NTEC, it was factual and accurate. -Oodleday (talk) 21:01, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Not done It was full of promotional language taken straight from the subject's own website, such as "NTEC's facility is designed to provide its program companies with an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment, where founding teams interact with seasoned professionals, service providers and capital providers to address strategic and tactical issues". --Orange Mike | Talk 21:03, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Can it at least get moved to my user space so I can add in more original content, which I was doing while it was deleted? I was literally in the process of adding to it and editing it and someone even said on the talk page that I should be given time to address the concerns. Oodleday (talk) 21:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

SME Limited

SME is very important to the history of audio turntable design -212.187.20.95 (talk) 22:17, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Would you please undelete this page? SME Limited is historically one of the most important manufacturers of turntable tonearms in the world. The SME design is the de facto standard; the majority of turntable tonearms use an SME-compatible headshell mount. Millions after millions of turntables owe their basic tonearm design to SME. It is therefor not understandable why this page was deleted.

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Opa (programming language), it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user TParis (talk · contribs). Jucheck.exe

Please tell me why my Article was deleted -SimpleTecSeo (talk) 10:31, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

  •   Not done First, there is no such thing as "your article". Second, individual executables are typically non-notable, and therefore non-encyclopedic on their own. Jucheck.exe was made into a redirect to the related Sun article, and I have just deleted the article "What is jucheck.exe". Do not recreate non-notable/non-encyclopedic articles - Wikipedia is not a WP:HOWTO guide. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:42, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Scamtacular

I would like the article moved to my userspace as it isn't offensive and doesn't violate any copyrights - it is a simple case of this website only having references which consist of forums. This website is expanding rapidly so in the near future will be mentioned elsewhere. I have set it up to redirect to the "Scam baiting" page for the time being and have put the page on User:Alexzarach with a few modifications to the referencing. FLOPPY (band)

FLOPPY is reasonably notable. What is the minimum amount of notability required by A7 (it seems vague, likely intentionally so)? Several albums by them have been released; they are signed with a recording label. The article's deletion seemed pretty arbitrary. Is the problem that the band is less notable in places people speak english, or something? -Droqen (talk) 14:35, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

The requirements under WP:MUSIC/WP:BAND are pretty clear ... does it meet them? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 14:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh, that's perfect. Apologies for my incorrect assumption. It looks as though they don't quite meet any of those requirements (though they come close). I know absolutely nothing about this website but would THIS be a valid publication? --67.224.93.154 (talk) 16:21, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Frome their website: "objective involves assisting Japanese artists to make connections and associations within Europe and America. We work to support artists and their managements as well as assisting them to export their music to a wider audience" - sounds like they are publicists, or sub-contract publicists; not a reliable source by any means. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:22, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Jeff Scurran

Someone has deleted my article incorrectly. I am a "Hall of Fame" Coach who works now on an international level as Head Football Coach for Team Stars and Stripes in the Global Bowl, an exhibition game that is played in one city around the world. Also I DID graduate from the Univeristy of Florida with a BS in Advertising from the College of Journalism and Communicatins on March 21, 1970. While I was certainly NOT an "athlete of note" as a walk-on who contributed as a totally unknown, this experienceI helped make me a nationally recognized coach that has produced many DVD's, spoken at hundreds of coaching clinics, and I get coaches from all over the world checking out my Wikipedia page. They all ask now why it has disappeared. My teams went to the Final Four in Arizona 13 out of my last 14 years in HS coaching and my Pima College Team went from no program when I was hired to start it in 2000 to #5 in the US in 2004, winning a nationally televised bowl game (Pilgrim's Pride Bowl in Mt. Pleasant, TX) and receiving natinonal attention. ALL of these FACTS are available as public record, including my educadtion and coaching record. Wikipedia has truly helped people find out information about me and what I have done. I often refer people to Wikipedia to learn about my background and I am offended that the person who deleted me did NOT get the facts correct. It makes me look dishonest. I currently work as a speaker/consultant to youth, high school, college and club athletic teams all over the world, many who have no funding or cooperation and background is my life. Please help me get it back online. -— Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.1.56.45 (talkcontribs) 19:41, 17 August 2011

Noel Gillespie

I noticed that the reason why Noel Gillespie's article was deleted was because there wasn't evidence of notability nor an independent source here. Well, I have found an article explaining the hiring of Noel Gillespie right here. The full article's title was "Suns Promote Noel Gillespie to Assistant Coach" and the date of its release was June 29, 2010. I'd also like to note that he had eight years of experiance with the Phoenix Suns as an "advance scout" and video coordinator for the team. I don't have any knowledge of what his past article was like, but I'd like to add that link and the information I've received as a sort of hope involving the revival of his page, provided that I have some sort of knowledge involving the past attempt of creating that page. - AGreatPhoenixSunsFan (talk) 04:11, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

If you look at https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/w/index.php?title=Valley_Stream,_New_York&oldid=292173697 you can see text that you can use. However Louis Minott has no article and it seems that one was never made, and customary practice is not to have "notable" residents in lists with red links. This article exhibits the only Canadian based online legal forms website to offer video guides. LegalZoom and RocketLawyer both have articles that are just as general and may be seen as advertising as well. It is important for the public to understand the growing concept of do-it-yourself legal forms. It a question of access to justice, many people cannot afford a lawyer, and may not qualify for legal-aide therefore to promote access to justice online legal form companies like DynamicLawyers.com should be allowed to create an article on wikipedia.
