Draft:Onwards (The Wax Girl song)

I, CumberdaleHubert, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. CumberdaleHubert (talk) 17:04, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Done - as an Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13, the page has been restored on request. Please edit the page to address the issues raised when it was declined, and re-submit it; "Articles for creation" is not for the indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. ~Amatulić (talk) 04:54, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

I, 91.2.223.253, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. 91.2.223.253 (talk) 10:12, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Done I've restored it, but I do want to impress upon you the importance of using non-primary sources and properly citing them. Just saying that he's published somewhere and putting the source as "Guardian Weekly (Learning English section)" is not good enough. Simply publishing isn't going to establish notability and what you've put as a source is so general that there's no real way that we could verify that. Ideally you'd want a link to the publication - however I need to stress that someone can publish in notable outlets yet not gain notability, so there's no true need to list everything that someone has done. Also, be careful of the section "Contributions to English language teaching". Not only does this have the ability to be inherently promotional (something that would keep the article from publishing on that factor alone) but you also sourced this with Claypole's own work. In order to show that he's had an impact on others you need to cite other sources that make these assertions and have those sources be in independent and reliable places. Just writing and saying things doesn't mean that someone had an impact and you'll never be able to establish this with primary sources. I'm going to post this on the article so I can make sure that you see it. I do have to warn you - if this gets repeatedly declined then it's unlikely to get continually restored since there'd be a concern about the article never getting accepted. Unicity Productions, Play It Strange Trust, and Hack n' Smack Celebrity...

The pages were moved to the mainspace from the userspace by a user other than that of the user whose userspace in which they resided (the same user for all three pages). This should not be done unless a page is suitable for the mainspace. They were deleted under non-general speedy deletion criteria which wouldn't apply to the user namespace. The administrators (three different administrators) didn't err in applying the speedy deletion criterion, the circumstances surrounding the page being in that location is the problem. The content should be restored to the userspace. If this is a matter that would need to be raised at WP:DRV, please let me know, and I'll consider doing so. Best Regards, -Godsy(TALKCONT) 06:42, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

@Godsy:   Done. I agree that moving other users' userspace drafts to the mainspace in order to get them deleted is not a proper thing to do. @Legacypac: don't do it again. I have marked them all with {{Inactive userpage blanked}} which is a much better way to deal with these pages - needs no admin action, doesn't clog up MfD with endless repetitions of the same arguments, and is more user-friendly in the not impossible case that the user returns one day. Courtesy ping to the three deleting admins Shirt58, RHaworth, Ritchie333 to let them know what I have done. JohnCD (talk) 11:17, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Supplementary comment: I do not say that it is always wrong to move someone else's abandoned userspace draft to the mainspace. If it is really ready for it, that can be useful and result in an article (e.g. User:Ajantala007/Akata Formation); but I think that a third party who does that should take responsibility for the page and, if it does not survive in mainspace, should arrange for it to be returned to the user space, rather than let it be deleted for reasons which would not apply in user space. JohnCD (talk) 15:33, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
  • Strong Objection I did not move these to have them deleted. I was not aware that two of them were deleted and expressed surprise about the Hack & Smack one already which I found to be a notable annual charity event. I moved them because I thought they were good stubs. Godsy is a not assuming good faith, spouting lies and is a hypercrite who themselves has been moving good stubs back into userspace [1] This disruptive behavior is why I started an ANi thread. Legacypac (talk) 15:43, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
    • If you actually read my comment above, I never claimed you "move[d] these to have them deleted" in this case (though you explicitly did so at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Richard d'Anjolell and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Graffiki), rather that the moves were improper because they were weren't ready to reside in the mainspace and were subsequently deleted under criteria that wouldn't apply to the user namespace. If you "thought they were good stubs", why do you have a problem with their restoration?Godsy(TALKCONT) 20:12, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
If they are A7able, why the heck are we restoring them? How does that improve the project? Legacypac (talk) 16:42, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Colin Moriarty, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Juliancolton (talk · contribs). Page randomly deleted? -—Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:52, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

The page was deleted because its creator had blanked it. Admins generally view such edits as a tacit request to delete. (Note: I merely fixed the template; I am not the requestor.) —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:52, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
  • @67.239.166.185: The page creator (Krishna Chaitanya Velaga) asked for deletion, stating that it was non-notable. However even without that, I don't think that we'd really be able to restore this because the article was also fairly promotional in tone, with sentences like "Experts of the company care for the patients and serve them with the superior end-of life quality care for effective results in terms of the treatment procedure." Page has been Deleted under Promotions Cause. -Kishore.Gurram (talk) 06:44, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

@Kishore.Gurram:   Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
If you want to try again, you will need references showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. If you can provide them, I suggest that you use WP:Articles for creation to guide you through the process. If you are employed by or connected with the company, read WP:PSCOI and note that you must declare your interest, as explained at WP:PAID. JohnCD (talk) 17:10, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

  • The draft also had some relatively promotional material, as it contained words like "premier" and generally came across like a brochure you'd read on something. This also makes me slightly suspicious that the material might have come from another source and is closely paraphrased, which would make it a potential WP:COPYVIO. You can edit the mainspace version, but please be careful when choosing your wording and make sure that you don't copy a previously published work too closely. Delta Sigma Iota

The wikipedia page for Delta Sigma Iota was deleted in 2012 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Delta_Sigma_Iota) for the organization being not notable, not having many chapters, not having coverage in third party news articles, or and not falling under a national umbrella organization. Since then the organization has expanded and met all of these criterias. The organization has an official presence in over seven major universities http://www.deltasigmaiota.org/chapters--colonies.html in multiple states. Additionally, the organization has also been recognized by the National Asian Pacific Islander Pan-Hellenic Association (http://www.napahq.org/about/#organizations). There are also several news article references in a google news search (https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#tbm=nws&q=%22delta+sigma+iota%22). Accordingly I am asking that the article be restored. If the history was not retained by Wikipedia, it appears that a copy of the article was archived here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hornofgabriel/Delta_Sigma_Iota -Ajish (talk) 05:09, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. • We can't restore AfD'd articles and you'd have to talk to Mark Arsten about restoring the article, as he was the deleting admin. I do have to warn you that part of establishing notability for organizations is that the organization (fraternities are subject to WP:NORG) is that you have to show where the coverage is in-depth and in places Wikipedia would consider to be independent and reliable. Just linking to a Google search doesn't really help much since you'd have to show that each news source meets the criteria of WP:RS. This can be tough to do since in a lot of cases Greek organizations will get brief mentions or the source will be somewhat WP:PRIMARY since the coverage will be from a campus newspaper or the like. For example, this link came up in the search, but it's primary (since it's the university's website) and the fraternity is only briefly mentioned. The same thing goes for this news article, since it's by a student newspaper. Now when it comes to chapters, the expectation is that the fraternity will have many, many chapters (likely more than just seven) on top of extensive coverage. Having multiple chapters and being recognized by a larger association can make it more likely that they'll gain coverage, but it's not a guarantee. Now as far as the draft article goes, I've deleted it since it's a copyright violation from this website, as whole paragraphs were directly taken. If you're going to edit any copy of the article, it'd be best to do the one that was deleted at AfD since that's far more neutrally written and doesn't contain any copyright violations. I'm not against this being recreated, but I need to stress that you'll have to provide a lot of coverage to establish notability. Just linking to a Google search isn't enough - you need to give specific examples of news coverage to help argue that the fraternity would now pass notability guidelines. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:28, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
  • I see that you approached Arsten already, who told you to go to WP:DRV, which is a separate area. My recommendation is that before you go to DRV, that you try making an article at WP:AfC. It's likely that you're a member of the organization and while there's no rule that you can't make an article, it's recommended that you go through AfC and if the article is accepted, try to minimize your edits to the article after it goes live in order to avoid some of the issues posed at WP:COI. In any case, making a new draft can help you make your case at DRV sometimes. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:35, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

That is not only not how things work, but there's a lot of other issues:
  1. None of the sources you provide are usable. We can't use primary sources, social media, wikis (such as IMDb) or sources that Mr. Hall has any influence over.
  2. Copyright is automatically all rights reserved unless explicitly disclaimed or explicitly released under a copyleft licence. Note that Wikipedia cannot use images or text with the No Derivative Works or Noncommercial prongs.
  3. Pages do not get protected against creation unless they have been repeatedly recreated or the content/title is so beyond the pale that it's detrimental to leave it available.
  4. All subjects on Wikipedia must be, in and of themselves, notable. An A7 deletion indicates that the article didn't even try to explain why he was notable.
  5. A7 and G12 deletions are generally not undeleted here, especially not if the target page is creation-protected.
Hope this clears things up. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:20, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (4)

Page should be restored because the claims of lack of notability were not valid. Numerous references to outside sources were incorporated into the page as per Wikipedia guidelines to substantiate corresponding parts of the narrative contained in the page. We believe that the deletion was in fact malicious in nature, most likely originated by those who are politically opposed to NACA's mission or who we were not able to help become homeowners or save their home from foreclosure, and originated the deletion as a petty form of revenge.

NACA's history was indeed accurately reflected within the page and is more than worthy of inclusion as a result of its quarter-century of history and its impact on the United States mortgage crisis.

We respectfully request and insist on the restoration of the page. It is indeed factual, more than adequately referenced, and its absence removes an important piece for a key part of contemporary American history. In addition to our previous request (repeated below), it should be noted that other Wikipedia articles related to mortgages and the US mortgage crisis make reference to NACA, further verifying its notability and validity. Those articles include:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=Neighborhood+Assistance+Corporation+of+America&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Go https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreclosure_rescue_scheme https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boston_Globe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NACA_(disambiguation) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortgage_Bankers_Association https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detria_Russell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loan_modification_in_the_United_States

These articles are incomplete and do not contain all possible citations and references as a result of the deletion of the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America article.

Once again, we respectfully request and insist that the factual and properly referenced Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America Article be undeleted immediately. -206.229.192.132 (talk) 13:46, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, but that is NOT how it works. All articles must abide by our notability policies and don't get a pass because they're related to things that are themselves independently notable. Second, the page has been protected against creation because it's been repeatedly deleted as spam. (G11s are a matter of tone, not sourcing; it's possible to have a well-sourced article that nonetheless fails G11.) —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:11, 8 April 2016 (UTC)
I note that early versions of this article weren't promotional. I wouldn't object to restoring an early version and indef-semi-protecting the article to prevent these multipe-IP COI editors from turning it into a PR piece again. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:10, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done @Aditya Kabir: This is pretty unambiguously promotional, to the point where it needs an almost complete re-write to remove the promotional prose. The following sentence fragment is just an example of the promotional content:
"Ekhanei runs innovative activities like selling autographed bats of Cricketing celebrities"
I'll e-mail you the content, but it needs to be re-written. On a side note, if you were asked to create this by the company then you need to divulge this per WP:COI. This is just so promotionally written that it is reminiscent of similar articles written by paid editors. If you're not a paid editor or have some sort of COI, please be careful with how you phrase things since this is very similar to the type of writing that we see with paid editing. The same thing goes if this was taken from the mainspace (meaning that you didn't write this and were just trying to do a rescue) and you were trying to edit it to get re-accepted into the mainspace - promotional tones still shouldn't be in the article. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:48, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
Agreed. :).
@Tokyogirl79: It is difficult to write about a Bangladeshi company, with lack of sources and all. What you saw was one of the best written, and best sourced articles. It definitely needs improvement. The problem with drafts is that you will have no collaboration at all. So obviously it was taking a long time. The early edits was easy. But the subsequent edits became more and more difficult.
Anyways, the subject is quite notable, and meets WP:NOTE and WP:ORG. Is it possible to userify the content? You can replace the content of User:Aditya Kabir/Sandbox 3, which happens to be an earlier draft of the article. Thanks. Aditya(talkcontribs) 04:46, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

Perfect, thank you :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtbobwaysf (talkcontribs) 19:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
@JohnCD: Hi John, I did some work on the article tonight and would like to publish it as a new article. How do I do that so that it get's reviewed by patrol? Do I just remove {draft article} tag and replace it with a different tag for patrol? If yes, what is that tag, I couldn't find it in a google search. Little confused here, I have never gone from a draft to a new article before. Thank you! :-) Jtbobwaysf (talk) 21:19, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
@Jtbobwaysf: see WP:Drafts#Publishing a draft. You can move it directly into the main space with the "Move" function (which may be hidden in a drop-down menu under "More"). Be careful to choose "(Article)", not "Wikipedia" in the left-hand drop-down menu on the Move page. Then replace the {{Draft article}} template at the top with {{New unreviewed article}}. Alternatively, if you would like to get it more formally reviewed by the WP:Articles for creation process, instead of moving it you can put {{subst:submit}} at the top. Heroes in the Healing of the Nation

On 16 November 2012, the article was deleted because of "Expired PROD, concern was: Hardly a notable album. No significant coverage in reliable sources. Fails WP:NALBUMS)." However, it has received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources, including HipHopDX [7], Okayplayer [8], PopMatters [9], and The Phoenix [10]. Additionally, it has appeared on the U.S. Billboard charts, including Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums [11], Independent Albums [12], and Heatseekers Albums [13]. I believe it meets WP:NALBUMS #1 and #2 and am contesting PROD. -153.173.68.59 (talk) 11:58, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

@LeonRaper:   Not done. First, you already have a page there, which I have tagged as a draft so that you can submit it for review after you clean it up and get it in compliance with Wikipedia:Golden rule. Second, the deleted revisions show a blatant disregard for Wikipedia's policies, namely, that this is not a free web host, and Wikipedia is not to be used for publicity or promotion. Work with what you have. There is no benefit to the project to restore promotional material. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:05, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Oxford University Society of Belgium

Some days ago, the article was proposed for deletion for the following reason: Alumni organisation, no notability found. However: The fact that the Oxford University Society of Belgium is run by alumni of the University of Oxford cannot in itself be ground for deletion of the article. There are a number of clubs and societies featured on Wikipedia which are run by University alumni, such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_Club_of_Boston. Just like the Harvard Club of Boston, the Oxford University Society of Belgium runs a number of widely known events in the region where it is based, and is notable for that reason. -D8822 (talk) 08:56, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request.
@D8822: Note that it wasn't deleted because of who runs it, it was deleted because it showed no evidence of notability. Articles about organizations must comply with WP:CORP criteria for inclusion if the article is to be kept on Wikipedia. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:09, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Golodg (talk) 13:49, 10 April 2016 (UTC)

Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion A7. If you believe that this decision was made in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who carried out the deletion, user RHaworth (talk · contribs). If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review.
I note also that another admin Anthony Appleyard re-deleted the article with a note that this was "blacklisted". You may want to ask what he means. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:13, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
  • @Amatulic: At 11:27, 10 April 2016 User:WWGB speedy-delete-tagged it "Requesting speedy deletion with rationale "Re-creation of blacklisted article Radio Lem.fm". (TW)". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:47, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

Last revision of this article not meet the criterion for speedy deletion A7! Also there are 2 interwikis. And where there "blacklist" can be found? Golodg (talk) 17:11, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

The proper procedure is to ask the deleting administrator RHaworth. We don't overturn A7 decisions by request on this page. Also, interwiki links are irrelevant; if something exists on another language Wikipedia, that doesn't matter; it must meet criteria for inclusion on the English Wikipedia. As far as I can tell, the A7 deletion was valid. The article contained no assertion of significance whatsoever, and the sources don't appear to consist of significant coverage, but rather listings or mentions. ~Amatulić (talk) 07:36, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

@Rockontanuj:   Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about people. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning people will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. See WP:MUSICBIO for what a musical performer needs to have achieved before having an article
In any case, Wikipedia is not a place like Facebook or Soundcloud for people to write about themselves, see Wikipedia:Autobiography. JohnCD (talk) 09:24, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Chagos Islands national football team

Page has been deleted multiple times owing to lack of notability, which was probably correct decision at the time, as upon last deletion team had only played a single friendly. However, team has joined ConIFA, which is a recognised international body, has qualified to play in the upcoming 2016 World Football Cup, and has been playing games on a regular basis. This article has been locked from being re-created except by admins. I would like the opportunity to try and write an article, with sufficient referencing to display notability, given the team's more enhanced status over the course of the last two years. -Hammersfan (talk) 20:52, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

  • @Graeme Bartlett: This actually looks like it's a copyvio from here, so I'm going to speedy it. Ebenezereshun, all content must be in your own words - you cannot use content that has been previously published elsewhere unless it is clearly marked as fair use. If it's not and you own the copyrights to the content, you need to submit a ticket via WP:OTRS that gives Wikipedia permission to use the content. However a look at the page shows that it is marked as copyrighted, so you'd have to do the latter. If you don't own the copyright, then you cannot post the content and all material would have to be written in your own words. It'd also have to be written in a WP:NPOV, as the content in the article was fairly promotional, enough to where it would not be accepted on that basis alone.
