Wikipedia has an inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notabilitywhich is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also Wikipedia:Notability (summary).

Volatility Guard undeletion

Discussions ended at a point when the original proposers for article deletion had expressed satisfaction with the edition and direction of the article. -118.209.125.32 (talk) 23:04, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Volatility Guard, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Randykitty (talk · contribs). This article should have been given enough time to be expanded before being considered for deletion. It was treated more like a malicious topic of which it is an important title that should have a page on here. -Sidewinder message me! 15:25, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

@Sidewinder:  Y Userfied to User:Sidewinder/REWORK (book), though with only two sentences it was hardly worth userfying. We are rather more picky these days about obviously incomplete articles in the mainspace: people are encouraged to use the new Draft namespace or a Userspace draft to develop new articles before posting them. It is true that we require citations to reliable sources but the lack thereof did not contribute to the deletion basis, which was blatant promotion under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. The Orbital

The Orbital is the student publication for Royal Holloway, University of London. The Wikipedia page contained a significant amount of historical information about the publication that's been in existence since 1989. This information is not contained or stored in another central location. For that reason its deletion is a disservice to the philosophy of Wikipedia. Your help restoring this page would be very much appreciated. -194.60.38.25 (talk) 14:20, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Orbital, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user MBisanz (talk · contribs). • On a side note, an organization's existence does not automatically mean that it is notable. Longevity does make it more likely that there will be coverage in reliable sources, but it is not a guarantee. If you do ask for its restoration on the admin's page or on DRV, you will need to provide sources to prove notability. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:10, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

  •   Not done I was going to restore this, but the issue I have is that there are several areas that are written in such a non-neutral point of view that they come across as promotional. I'd recommend against having an entire section talking about George's spirituality and how he wants to serve God, as something like that should only be a brief mention unless George's spirituality has been extensively covered in reliable sources independent of George. The same thing goes for the long sections about his personal background and upbringing: stuff like that should be summarized and really only covered in any depth if it is extensively covered in independent reliable sources (WP:RS). I'd also recommend avoiding headings like "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE - Performance for the World Record" because those also come across as promotional in tone. Even if you do add more sources to show notability the article would still require a complete and total re-write to fit Wikipedia's WP:NPOV guidelines. I'd also like to give a slight warning: world records don't always grant complete notability- sometimes they can if they are widely covered enough or recognized by an organization that is trusted by Wikipedia, but the whole reliability thing is key- there are sadly a lot of places that will claim to recognize you for a world record but it's really just about putting money in their pocket. (The Guinness Book of World Records has come under fire for this as of late.) I also have to say that I'm somewhat concerned about his notability as a whole since I don't really see any true coverage in a quick search, but I have no problem with you trying to create a new AfC entry. I'm just skeptical that the guy would ultimately pass the admittedly very strict notability guidelines on Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:17, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

I do not want it to be deleted because some Indians do use this way of speech -202.142.115.70 (talk) 11:44, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

This article has not been deleted: deletion is being discussed at WP:Articles for deletion/Cultivated Indian English and that is where you should comment, but read WP:DISCUSSAFD first. The article cites no references: these are necessary (a) because of the Wikipedia:Verifiability policy, summarised as "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source", and (b) because Wikipedia has an inclusion test called Wikipedia:Notability which looks for evidence of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. Kappa Psi Epsilon

In addressing the reasons stated for deletion, the significance of the organization Kappa Psi Epsilon is it's standing on the Rutgers University Newark Campus as the oldest, still recognized, sorority on campus. Technically speaking, because the other two Rutgers campuses don't have recognized local sororities, it is the only remanding local sorority in the Rutgers University community. This can be verified through the 'Greek Life' pages of all three campuses. In addition, other Universities have their local organizations listed, with less significance such as Sigma Delta from Darthmoth College. It can also be reworded to address the issues of seeming "promotional." There is also the other Kappa Psi Epsilon which is located in California.-Aissalated (talk) 14:30, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

I would like to think the content is unbiased and truthful in nature. I actually referred to his previous employers AES Iternational and that of Sam Instone WIKI to make sure it all adds up nicely.

The gentleman does much for the people in Uganda and Africa, and a simple GOOGLE of the same would provide an avalanche of further information ---he most certainly does not need my help or WIKI for that matter in the marketing and advertising universes as h clearly dominated his niche already. If there is anything you'd like me to remove in order to comply, kindly let me know.

I could move it to your userspace for further improvement, but an article that cites press releases, other Wikipedia pages, the subject's own works, etc. does not constitute significant coverage by independent reliable sources. The article was also written in a non-formal tone that appeared to be intended to promote the subject. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:54, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

  •   Not done The first article has not been deleted. I've removed the pledge from the article because while you are not claiming it as your own work (which would make it a copyright violation), adding the whole pledge does come across as promotion for the group. I'd like to ask that you not re-add it to the article because of this. There's no reason to add the entire pledge to the article. As far as the other article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Greek Orthodox Folk Dance Festival (FDF), that was deleted because it was a copyright violation. We cannot accept copyright violations in any format and we cannot restore them. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:24, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

  • @Chamath456: It looks like this was uploaded onto Wikimedia Commons and was deleted for copyright violations by User:INeverCry. If this is your image then you will need to do something to prove that this is your original work. Also, since this was deleted on the Commons I don't know that we would be able to specifically undelete it through here unless we have admin privileges on that site (I don't). I've tagged INeverCry so they can respond to this request. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:29, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival

The page was speedily deleted being classified as promotional. However the information provided in the page is factual and correct, as taken from sources including the UWRF partnership report. -—Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 04:32, 7 January 2015 (UTC) -Hollyreid (talk) 03:26, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Note: Of the speedy deletions this article has, the most recent deletion is a G11. Articles meeting this criterion are generally not undeleted either because they require a complete rewrite or they violate our biographical or fair-use policies. Promotion is less an issue of sources and more an issue of the article's content. I expect this to be deleted again and the earth salted as this will be the fifth time it has been deleted. If you continue re-creating this article, you will very likely be blocked for the repeated re-creations. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 04:32, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Troll Station (YouTube Channel), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user User:Joe Decker (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:56, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

    • So what you're saying is I'm not allowed to request G13 refund... What a totalitarian world we live in. Hasteur (talk) 04:22, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Hasteur, I'm willing to restore all of these but I want a promise that you will work on improving them (at least just a passing look for sources) so that they run a chance of passing notability guidelines. My concern is just that by all accounts the original editor appears to have abandoned the entry, so I doubt that they will be back any time soon to edit and improve the article, so I'm just worried that I'll be restoring the article just for it to sit for 6 months without any attempts to improve it (essentially re-abandoning and already abandoned AfC draft). Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:38, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
    • Tokyogirl79 I'll make you a deal. I'll go through every single one of these drafts and give them a proper review (which I would wager some have not recieved). Any that have a chance at succeeding I'll do what I can to try and boost them to acceptance. Any that are not possible, I will put up for CSD/MFD/etc as applicable. That EoRdE6 still sees these as things that should be removed indicates that an editor experienced with AFC should look at. Hasteur (talk) 04:43, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
  • Hasteur, good enough for me. I just want an assurance that they'll be looked at. I'll restore them now. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:43, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
