I received my information firsthand interning at the Memphis Cotton Exchange, although, to my knowledge , there are no publications contain this information (most possibly at the hand of "The City"), the Exchange has several ledger books which, in fact, contain the minutes of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce when it controlled "city affairs" during the fever epidemic. If you wish to check my story the Exchange would be more than happy to help. You may contact the Exchange at: Telephone. 901.525.3361; Mailing: pob 3150 Memphis, Tenn 38173; Physical: 65 Union Ave Memphis, Tenn 38103 --Ztucker07 20:10, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unlike some "deletion-prone" Wikipedia editors, I'm not trying to delete your stuff just because it's there! I just want you to supply a citation. If you can provide a citation to published info, you should put it back. However, Wikipedia policy excludes "original research", which your readings in the MCofC archives would be considered. If some one has published this somewhere, please cite it. --Zeamays 14:32, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cottonexseal.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cottonexseal.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:59, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Montistralia edit

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Montistralia. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Georgia (country). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Georgia (country) - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. かんぱい! Scapler (talk) 05:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Montistralia has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Speedy deletion nomination of People's Democratic Republic of Montistralia edit

A tag has been placed on People's Democratic Republic of Montistralia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. かんぱい! Could you please move the page to my user page. I will not longer atempt to publish in the common space. I was requested to move to common space by my instructor. If the article it not demend "important or signifant" enough for wikipedia. Ztucker07

Please refer your instructor to Wikipedia's policy on notability. I can recreate the article as a subpage, but I am listing the map & flag, sorry. I really do not think this is the right place for what you are trying to create, and I suggest you use a free wiki host. Wikia is one of them, although I believe there are quite a few. Please confirm if you still want me to recreate the article as a user subpage. -Frazzydee| 18:46, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

"Montistralia" article edit

Ztucker07, I don't think Wikipedia is the right place for the article you're trying to create. This is for encyclopedic articles, not personal pages. While you can keep personal pages as a subpage of your userpage, like I have done for you, this is more of a secondary ability than the main purpose, and any images you try to upload will probably get deleted.

So I would suggest that you re-create your page at http://www.wikia.com/. -Frazzydee| 11:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation edit

Your upload of File:City seal.jpeg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! File permission problem with File:City seal.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:City seal.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 10:51, 1 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Mtlogo.jpeg edit

The file File:Mtlogo.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused logo with no article used.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
