Capitalization of word "Machinima" edit

Concerning the front-page-summary of the current featured article Halo: Combat Evolved, I saw that the very last word "machinima" was left uncapitalized (like so), which I found a bit jarring compared to several years of seeing it spelled "Machinima."

Having read Anthony Bailey's blog post[1], I'd like to ask:

Is Machinima supposed to be spelled with a capital M?

(Not really life-threatening, I know, unlike Machinimist Machinimator (booming reverb included).)

Sorry for the late reply. To my knowledge, machinima is not a proper noun and should not be capitalized. - Zsoverman (talk) 20:35, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

War of the Servers edit

I'll have to make an intensive check through the Google hits tomorrow, but the general criteria for notability is that the work has been the primary subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources. Mention on other Wikipedia pages don't count as anyone can come along and add the information. This is the same reason that most Wikis, 99.9999% of blogs and all forums are not reliable sources. Check this proposed guideline from WikiProject Machinima. I really need to get around to reviving the project and updating some of the info and procedures. Unfortunately I tend to be lazy and a terrible procrastinator; time to change that.--Drat (Talk) 14:04, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
