Ras Maska

Kadisha Valley article

I would like to express my regret for using the word "mythological" in regards to certain aspects of the Kadisha Valley article. The word was used in regards to a couple of phrases that, to me, seemed to not be sufficiently explained so that a reader unfamiliar with North Lebanon (myself) could understand them.

That having been said, I would like to work on revising the article, but I think this would be best done as a collaborative effort, seeing as my lack of knowledge of the subject area is not an asset to me in this case. I think that some reorganizing of the article and a bit more explanation of certain aspects would be very beneficial to someone who stumbles upon it, as I did. Please find on my user page (Jhml) a restructuring of the Kadisha Valley article. Note: I'm not saying the article has to be this way, I'm just proposing what I think is a very readable and understandable layout, which is certainly open for discussion. That's why I put it on my user page, and haven't changed the actual page yet. Usually when I make a massive restructuring of an article, there is no one who cares enough about the article to say anything about it one way or another.

Oops I wasn't aware it was up for GA. I thought it was a great article but the history section was a little too long in comparison. It will need cutting down a fair bit. I'm very busy at the moment, I;ve just been adding infoboxes to all the Lebanese districts and creating new templates ready for developing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Lebanon/District templates. See my discussion with User:George. What I would recommend it to copy it back again (but leave the new page) and then begin working at condensing a summarised version for the main article. As you do so, I will make sure I give you a hand and help you copy edit it for a GA. If you want to develop it to GA, then I can do a great deal to put it on its way and make suggestions when I have a moment. The main initial objections would be that it lacks conciseness, needs a major copyedit and there is a lack of citations. I've added citations tags for area initially that you need to reference. Once the sources of your article is more clearer and is verifiable I can then begin to help you copy edit it thoroughly. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge!
