Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. Alexf(talk) 10:27, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was writing in good faith to start an article on Royale International and not for promotional and advertising purposes. I did go through your page guidelines and was attempting to start an article. I hadn't realized that there were so many restrictions and monitoring until after the block. There has been articles written on the company which I can find reference to. I tried to do a draft article which I was using references from other sources. After reading a few links regarding this block, I realized that the draft too was monitored. I also realize that it is not easy to write an article that remains neutral and complies with your guidelines. You'll have to forgive me if I am missing anything as I am confused on certain aspects after reading and attempting to post as a new user here. I can't even contact the administrator properly even after reading your instructions. But, I will comply with what is required such as username change and hope that you could unblock the account. I am reading your guidelines for reference and if the account becomes unblocked, I will ensure that the guidelines will be met and ask questions when unsure. Please advise. Thanks.

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Please also note that you will need to use the {{unblock-spamun}} template, as shown on the pink block notice above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:39, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Yes, I have read your COI guidelines and related topics. It is not my intention to use Wikipedia as a business directory because I know it is not. I believe the various articles written meet your notability guidelines. If you decide to unblock, I will ask first, if unsure after reading any related FAQs and guidelines, and post after according to your suggestions. I have no experience in editing on Wikipedia but there are similar pages that I can use for reference as a model and will consider reqeusting adoption if required. Please advise. Thanks.

Decline reason:

Chosing a username that is completely unrelated to your firm would be a good idea (i.e. not Hong Kong Royale Integrated Courier Services). Concur with Bwilkins below, it seems a poor idea to unblock if you're simply going to continue promotional editing. Kuru (talk) 12:42, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you're missing a key point: if your desire to be unblocked is so that you can create an article about a company you work for, you will not be unblocked - no matter what your username is. You may wish to edit the request above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:39, 8 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I thought it would be a good experience to start with writing about the company. Do something different from my norm and improve my writing skills. I am not requesting because of promotional editing. I'm not good with words, honestly, I'm just asking for an unblock. My intended article was just facts about how it started and how it has expanded to over 20 offices. I'd use Fedex and DHL as a model for the article and perhaps consider adoption if I had any difficulties. Honest. I'd like to have the account to try writing about other topics too. I only been in the company for a month after moving countries. I know now not to brainstorm on Wikipedia at the very least. I am a frequent user of Wikipedia and its been very resourceful. I'd like to try writing articles, thats all. I'm trying to be reasonable and meet the guidelines. I only read the Talk page guideline before starting. After the block, I went through your COI and related links to better understand how to write instead of just going ahead with a brainstorm or draft save online. The main confusion I had was trying to use your system before thoroughly reading all the related links. Please advise. Regards.

Talkback edit

Hello, Xpathy. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests.
Message added 13:08, 10 October 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Note: You have been unblocked to allow you to do a name change. You must do this soon or you will risk being blocked again. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:08, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why do I need to do another name change? ~~Xpathy

That looks like a slip by Kudpung (talk · contribs), since Xpathy is your new name, isn't it?
But I see from your creation of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Royale International Group that you are still trying to write about your company. A few sections above, you wrote "I will not write about the company to avoid any further problems. I will find another topic to write on.". -- John of Reading (talk) 07:37, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I feel that I was misjudged. Hence, I would like to get a neutral opinion. I didn't want to post the article here. I am following the suggestions from Help Desk. I stated very clearly the reasons why I was looking for advice on the article without having to post on my account in Help Desk already. I've also asked where I could place my concerns in one of the Wikipedia sections regarding the account but there was no response from Help Desk yet. I've searched most of the pages and I can't seem to find the right section to write in because this is no longer a dispute. I'm not trying to create problems which is why I posted in Help Desk in the first place. I'll just remove it then. Xpathy (talk) 07:49, 11 October 2011 (UTC)XpathyReply

I'm a Third Opinion Wikipedian and I've removed your request from the Third Opinion project as it's not really the right forum for what you are looking for. You're already on the right track with your feedback request, but you hadn't provided a link to your article draft so I have done so for you. Please check to make sure that is the draft you want considered and put in a link to the correct one if it is not. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 13:39, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your feedback. It's much appreciated. I'm going to revert the moved page back to "Royale International Group" and repost the draft article back for feedback.

Your submission at Articles for creation edit

Thank you for submitting an article to Wikipedia. Your draft submission has been reviewed. However, the reviewer felt that a few things need to be fixed before it is accepted. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Royale International Group. If there is no response within seven days, the request may be declined. If this happens, please feel free to continue to work on the article. You can resubmit it (by adding the text {{subst:submitdraft}} to the top of the article) when you believe the concerns have been addressed. Thank you. Will re-write the article as suggested. Thanks for the feedback.
