My IP is 124.6.181.186, however, I wasn't editing a page. Plus, it is not a static IP. I put a warning on that IP because someone using it had recently vandalised said page. Since it had been warned before, one of the moderators must have put a registration restriction of some kind on it. Are you at a school/university? This problem happens sometimes when an IP address is registered to an educational institution and is shared by multiple users. Unfortunately, the only solution at this time is to temporarily block the IP from editing or to require an editor to create an account. Getting a static IP would prevent you getting an IP previously assigned to a vandal, but it's probably unnecessary. Using an account to log in to Wikipedia should prevent this issue from reoccurring. Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses (discussion archive)

I don't want to get into an edit war with you, and I sure as hell am not a Nazi sympathizer. However, the Jewish boycott of German goods article appears to imply that the Nazi boycott was a counter-boycott that was afterwards and in response to the Jewish boycott of German goods (although there is only one source to back this up). I'm sure that a Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses was inevitable, and they probably were only using the Jewish boycott as a convenient excuse, but nonetheless, this seems to me to be important context that should not be removed entirely from the article. I wrote the text into which this was inserted and it broke up the sentence destroying its meaning.

You need a present-day source for this point. The Daily Mail had a pro-fascist phase in the thirties - the use of the term Judea for Jews is a clue: the motto fo the British fascist party was "Perish Judea". The Nazis no doubt gave justifications for their boycott, they also gave justifications for exterminating the Jews. That doesn't mean that they were the cause of their actions. They were not just responding to a Jewish boycott, as the text makes clear. Telaviv1 on June 20, 2011

John Nevard (interlanguage links)

Regarding your query at User_talk:John_Nevard#Nazi_book_burnings about interlanguage links, there is no policy against their use so long as they are provided simply as links for the convenience of the user (usually because there isn't an article in the user's language wikipedia and isn't likely to be) and not as a source verifying content. Nevard took out all the interlanguage links I and other editors provided at Tristane Banon and I have asked him to restore them and warned him that there will be real trouble if he persists. I suggest you do the same. Let me know if he continues to be troublesome. He's probably some high-school geek after an adminship and he needs to be swatted. Thank you. Thanks for the input on this re: the Nazi book burning article. I'm real reluctant to get into edit wars -- I've read too many anecdotes of people quitting work on WP after getting sick and tired of the politics spoiling their contribution experience. Hi there Wingman4l7. Sorry, but I just declined your speedy deletion nomination of Template:Cite doi/10.1016.2Fj.actaastro.2007.01.052. It looks like that individual template might meet speedy deletion criterion T3, but there are a lot of subpages of Template:Cite doi that aren't being used, so we should probably discuss them all together, to save time and to make sure any deletions are supported by consensus. Maybe you could start by making a new thread at Template talk:Cite doi, and if that doesn't get a good response, you could make a batch nomination at templates for discussion. In the future, when you find a dead link, please mark it as such with the {{dead link}} template instead of just commenting out the reference, as you did here. If it's hidden, no one can fix it! Even better, check if there is an archived copy at http://archive.org, and then you can use the {{Wayback}} template or the|archiveurl and |archivedate parameters in a citation template. Also, if you suspect the page has just been moved and you're reluctant to use an archival copy, you can search for an exact string from the archived copy --sometimes you can find where it's been moved that way. Hantavirus Risk in Yosemite

Hi, I noticed you recently contributed to the Hantavirus article. I've been having trouble adding mention of the 2012 Hantarvirus Outbreak to the main Yosemite_National_Park Page.

Editing by anomalocaris

No, I have never used Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser. I often go looking for specific things, but once I open an article for editing, I usually give it the full treatment and don't just fix the one thing I was looking for. Recently, I've been stomping out missing chemical subscripts. In the last batch, I searched for FeCl3 so I could change it to FeCl₃, but most of the articles had a lot more issues than just subscripts, especially

• Natural phenol diff (which generated 8 {{Cite pmid}} template changes, and if I weren't tired of this article, I'd edit more of them to change The Biochemical journal to Biochemical Journal
• Tannin diff
• Polythiophene diff

I assume that AWB would be very effective if all I wanted to do was change FeCl3 to FeCl₃, but if this is only a minor part of the editing I would do in an affected article, I assume that AWB wouldn't be much help. —Anomalocaris (talk) 07:58, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Greetings Wingman417 and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. Thanks for your work on Army ant. I apologize for removing the access templates on some references without discussion. It was based on two things 1) The title of a reference should only be linked if the link leads to the full text or at the very least the abstract/preview at the link should support the fact in the WP article - thus if the title is linked the open access template is redundant. 2) PMC is open access full text - thus if there is a PMC given the open access template is redundant. I am not fervent about this position and am more than willing to yield to the existing consensus on an article, especially one up for GA. The other aspect of your edit was to add the month parameter [back] (again my bad, editing boldly) to journal articles. Journals that have volume, issue and page parameters don't usually get month just year. This is different for magazine articles sometimes. Again not a position I unwilling you consider discussion on or yield to existing consensus. Just dropping in with my 2 cents and apologizing for making changes without discussion. It is a good article and getting better. I will be able to provide a link or two to full text versions of a couple of refs when I am at a computer that allows me to open PDF's (another excuse for my half assed editing, I would normally have gotten all refs uniform).
