molecule creation howto edit

You've done an excellent job making these 3D molecule animations. Would you be willing to share how you've made them, so that I (and others) can make such molecules for other articles on Wikipedia? Thanks! Wingman4l7 (talk) 04:18, 28 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I second this motion! Perhaps not even a how-to tutorial, but just the name of the program/process that you create these with, cause it's pretty darn amazing. ~ Anonymous

Animated GIF Creation HowTo edit

I think one can create animated GIFs that have the same great look with QuteMol. As QuteMol works on PDB-Files input data should be easily obtainable or could just be created with e.g. Avogadro.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bikedoc. That's just was what I was looking for. I wrote up a small tutorial on QuteMol on Stackexchange. So if you're reading this and interested in creating animations like these you should check it out.

Cheers

Thanks!! edit

Hi,

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate those animated molecule images you make. I'm really high right now and I've been like staring at the DMT molecule for hours and I really want to try ayahuasca now and I'm considering embarking on a journey of religious discovery and recording it by audio (if only Best Buy weren't closed I'd go right now!!). I realize it probably took a long time and a lot of money and/or effort to learn how to do that and I just wanted to say that it paid off on me as it's really extremely amusing to watch. I realize I'm rambling so I think I'll end now by saying THANK YOU!!!

P.S. Maybe you could organize an effort to expand this to all molecular images on wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Telenar (talkcontribs) 01:11, 22 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
