June 2020 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Coronosaurus, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Shellwood (talk) 20:53, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

"History" or "Discovery" section first edit

Hey, thanks for moving the "History" or "Discovery" section to the top of several articles such as in Plesiosaurus and some of the ornithopod dinosaurs, but remember that moving entire sections of pages can affect the placement of images, links, and possibly several other stuff, so maybe sometimes it's best to check the "show preview" of your edit to see if the images (or other important things) are placed where they belong, and don't ruin the structure of the article. For example, this edit of yours at Plesiosaurus somehow ruined the structure of the article, since there are too many images in one side, and those images belong to the "Discovery" section, which, if placed in the next section, is not relevant to what it's talking about. Overall, thanks for doing the section moves because in most articles about prehistoric animals this is how it should be; first mentioning how the animal was discovered, and then mentioning the anatomy of the animal, not the other way around. Anyways, just remember what I said above about the placement of things so that the structure isn't ruined. JurassicClassic767 (talk | contribs) 18:00, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dead links in refs edit

Hi, before tagging a URL in a reference as "dead", check archive.org. In most cases, the page will have been archived, and the archive-url can be added to the reference. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 21:31, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

RfD listing edit

Hi Vaporwaveboyfriend. In the future when nominating redirects for discussion, please follow instructions at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion#How to list a redirect for discussion. I've properly formatted it at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 January 4#Global nation, and another user has tagged the redirect with the template that links back there. Also, please never mark such edits as minor ("one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute"). --BDD (talk) 00:50, 5 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Selecting redirects for discussion edit

Hi Vaporwaveboyfriend. I advise you to be more cautious with your selection of redirects for discussion. For example, your Rfd nomination for Vitol'd Karlovic Tseraskiy. Your rationale seems uninformed. Please always use Special:WhatLinksHere first. -- Rfassbind – talk 06:14, 8 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for January 16 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lear's macaw, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dioclea. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Changing citations unnecessarily edit

re LGBT symbols citation edits.
You changed the citation for "The Origin of the Male and Female Symbols" on 21 February 2021. It was reversed on the same date. You made the same change again on 3 April 2021. The original citation was again restored. You are deliberately contradicting WP:CITEVAR, which states: "...editors should not attempt to convert Wikipedia to their own preferred style, nor should they edit articles for the sole purpose of converting them to their preferred style...." Please stop manipulating citations to suit your personal preference. I don't know if you're doing the same in other articles, but I am now formally notifying you of WP:CITEVAR. Ignorance is not bliss. Pyxis Solitary (yak). L not Q. 18:38, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Melitea edit

I'm not really sure there's a need for a Melitea article like you requested [1]. Per hdl:10088/977 "The name Melitea Péron & Lesueur, 1810, has never been used for a scyphozoan since its original publication, although it was misspelled Melitaea by Gistl, 1848. Both Mayer, 1910, and Kramp, 1961, fail even to mention it in their comprehensive works on medusae." So per the ICZN that's still enough to make Melitea Lamouroux, 1812 an invalid junior homonym, but I'm not sure that Melitea Péron & Lesueur, 1810, while potentially available, is notable enough for Wikipedia if there's been nothing written about the genus and no contemporary works seem to list it (I've searched.)? I can't even figure out what to redirect it to -- its type species was Melitea purpurea, which seems to have been transferred to both Orythia and Rhizostoma in the early 1800s, but I haven't seen any mention of this species in the past hundred years, at least searching online? Maybe some books will have more information, though. Umimmak (talk) 22:40, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Article requests for invalid names. edit

I'm not really sure I see the benefit to you requesting so many articles for invalid taxa? Wikipedia generally doesn't find junior synonyms, junior homonyms, and the like to be notable... so if you know that, say, Merinthichthys is no longer considered a valid name I don't see why you would request an article for it. At best it would just be a redirect to Moringua with a {{R from alternative scientific name}}. Umimmak (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mayu Island has been created edit

Last year you requested an article about Mayu Island (known as "Double Island" in 19th-century English-language sources). Just wanted to let you know that I've created the article and will probably add more information soon. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 21:49, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

In case you're interested, I've now expanded the article with more details about the island and its history. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 20:52, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Too many species edit

I noticed that you added 46 species of the genus Actinidia to WP:PAR, including some that are not acccepted by POWO. May I ask why you want these articles created? Abductive (reasoning) 05:43, 3 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I second the question and also am wondering why, if you have an interest in plants, you do not learn how to add plants to Wikipedia yourself? I see that you have added quite the list of plants "found in the Maya Forest" to WP:PAR, 15 of them to be exact. If you need someone to help you figure out how to build plant articles I would be willing to help you learn. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 21:23, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Minor and not-so-minor edits edit

Hi Vaporwaveboyfriend! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information.

You seem to be marking all of your edits as minor, and very few of them are. Please stop. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 11:09, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to put the group's page on your watchlist, or stop by to say hello if you ever need any help. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:16, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
