Hi mate. Have you read Komanski & Siekierka book? I will send you parts per mail if you want. First read then criticize. I have many arguments: 1. Motyka is adding in Ukraińska Partyzantka some refferences to Siekierka's book, 2. This book is based on reccoletions published in Karta Center, 3. The book were reviewed by historians (look at Chodaczkow talk page), 4. I have found about 8 additional sources on webpages about number of victims. First try to answer them. I'm not supposed to add further comments to the ANE page, so I thought I'd send one to you here. It is not about him disagreeing with me at all (I have no problem with disagreement per se) but about grossly uncivilized behavior. Just to clarify, Loosmark hasn't been involved in the massacres article in any significant way: [1] so this is not at all about keeping him from making edits either; he's hardly making them. It's about making very ugly accusations about me and lowering the tone of the discussion which gets in the way of collaborative work. The Arbitration Committee recently passed a motion to open a case to investigate allegations surrounding a private Eastern European mailing list. The contents of the motion can be viewed here.

You have been named as one of the parties to this case at the request of the Arbitration Committee, here. Please take note of the explanations given in italics at the top of that section; if you have any further questions about the list of parties, please feel free to contact me on my talk page.

The Committee has explicitly requested that evidence be presented within one week of the case opening; ie. by September 25. Evidence can be presented on the evidence subpage of the case; please ensure that you follow the Committee instructions regarding the responsible and appropriate submission of evidence, as set out in the motion linked previously, should you choose to present evidence.

Please further note that, due to the exceptional nature of this case (insofar as it centers on the alleged contents of a private mailing list), the Committee has decided that the normal workshop format will not be used. The notice near the top of the cases' workshop page provides a detailed explanation of how it will be used in this case.

For the Arbitration Committee,

Okęcie Airport Incident edit

Hi mate;

I've become enthralled with this topic; I find it absolutely fascinating. I'm interested in working it all the way up to FAC, but I sadly can't speak Polish: would you be up for working together on this one with me?

On the same subject, do you know anywhere where we can find a public domain image of Terlecki?

Cheers, Cliftonianthe orangey bit 20:33, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Grand! :) The internet is a good source, but to get the article really up to scratch we may need to look elsewhere. You may or may not have noticed the work I've done on Luton Town F.C. page as well as those branching off it – I've given the wikilinks below. The majority of the information I garnered for these came from books; on the most part I used two in conjunction: a stats book (to give me results, goalscorers, player records etc.) and a "story" book (to give me background). Using these two sources (as well as some supplementary ones) it was possible to bring these pages significantly up in standard.
Because the internet is a relatively new invention, not everything is covered (at least not before 1992 or so...). Its coverage is slanted towards the big teams, and if you're not Manchester United or Arsenal you don't get much coverage from the internet. Believe you me, if we were talking about a "Heathrow Airport Incident" involving English players we would have no trouble at all using the internet alone!
If you've got any kind of Polish football history book, that would be very helpful indeed. If not, then we'll just have to dig through the internet for data like robots.
Cheers fella. Keep well. Cliftonianthe orangey bit 07:53, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Nice work fella, I don't have much time myself but I'll just get through ref formatting and making it flow better. Just a little point: didn't Młynarczyk get banned from club football? For how long? Cheers Cliftonianthe orangey bit 07:29, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I reckon we could (I don't reckon it's far off at the moment, actually). I'll have a shufty round to see if I can find any Polish football history books – if I can find a couple, I reckon we could even get it to FA.
Keep well mate. Cliftonianthe orangey bit 07:24, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nortom edit

Te zeznania zbiera ośrodek Karta i publikuje.

Siekierki is not an academic. What you seem to be doing is searching for unreliable surces that are obscure enough that they have not been explictly condenmed (yet) by academics. The fact that he is published by Nortom and not by a legitimate academic press is enough. Nobody here is playing games. We only want reliable sources on controversial topics. Find stuff by Motyka, not Siekierki. Just because Motyka might cite a fact or two from Sikiertka doesn't mean much - reliable historian Orest Subtelny cites stuff from UPA-published books, yet that does not mean we should treat UPA-published books themselvesas a legitimate source. Likewise with SiekierkiFaustian (talk) 15:32, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
--Paweł5586 (talk) 21:08, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Siekierki is a political activist not a historian. A historian needs to verify the facts he has collected before it is included. And just because a historian included one fact does not mean all of Sikierki's facts are correct (similarly, just because a historian cites a fact from a book written by UPA, it does not mean that everything written in that UPA is correct). Wikipedia policy is clear, that articles are not based on primary sources (such as eyewitness testimony) but on secondary sources. See WP:PSTS.Faustian (talk) 22:32, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I feel like playing monkey in the middle here, with arguments being tossed over my head like a ball. I have stated it many times - if we want the Ukrainians not to use dubious sources, we have to act in the same way. However, I cannot really solve this argument, perhaps someone unbiased, uninvolved, and with lots of knowledge might help. I would suggest user Peters Vecrumba, provided that he agrees to help. Udział w tych akcjach ukraińskich formacji SS przyczyniał się być może do niezwykle brutalnego ich przebiegu, jak w Hucie Pieniackiej czy Chodaczkowie Wielkim. [...] 15/16 kwietnia 1944 oddziały 4 Pułku SS wymordowały w Chodaczkowie Wielkim w pobliżu Tarnopola - w strefie przyfrontowej 250 do 854 (według różnych źródeł) polskich mieszkańców wsi.

Speedy deletion nomination of Tęgoborze Prophecy edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Tęgoborze Prophecy, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Tymek --

I think that the History section of Lesser Poland is much longer and more detailed than necessary for the article. (By this I mean that it is much longer and more detailed than other equally important sections.) What do you think of the idea of splitting the history into a History of Lesser Poland article, and having just a summary and {{main}} left in the History section of Lesser Poland? --Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 02:57, 23 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Monitor. WikiProject Poland Newsletter: Issue 1 (April 2011) edit

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours

Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper).

Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised.

In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:

This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!

With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself?

You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a [member link] at WikiProject Poland. • Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ref name edit

You can reduce the code clutter by using ref name function, see this. It is rather simple; instead of repreating the same ref many times, you add name=blah to the first one (so it becomes <ref name=blah>ref text</ref>), and all others can be just <ref name=blah/>. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 18:31, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your english is terrible edit

Dear Tymek, it was with some excitement that I clicked on the link to Football in occupied Poland (1939–1945), expecting a fascinating story about the struggles of ordinary Polish people. Unfortunately, the English in the article is quite poor. This kind of "Engrish" makes Wikipedia look bad and makes articles seem less-than-authoritative. You should consider getting someone who speaks English better than you do to help edit your articles. 124.170.38.201 (talk) 04:07, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear anonymous person. Too bad you are disappointed with my english. If you speak it better than me, and I am sure you do, take some time and make all necessary changes to the article, plus find more sourced information. Make it fascinating, make it an example of a perfect English. Tymek (talk) 04:19, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

East Prussian Plebiscite edit

Hello Tymek, maybe you have followed the recent discussion at Talk:East Prussian plebiscite. As a Polish speaker, would you mind to translate the following sentence?

Did Lenka die of cancer or the injuries he received by torture? I think "nie zważając na ogólne kontuzje" means he died regardless of his injuries. Thanks HerkusMonte (talk) 13:12, 17 January 2012 (UTC) Herkus gave you just a piece of the information the full text is here http://www.kurekmazurski.pl/?art=6852 And in the first sentence it mentions clearly Bogumił Linka, mazurski działacz społeczny zakatowany w 1920 roku przez niemiecką bojówkę Later the full quote says a podwórzu ci bandyci złapali tymczasem pana Linkego z Wawroch i wciągnąwszy go w środek pomiędzy tych rozbójników i tego starca bezbronnego człowieka bili i jeden rozbójnik z łopatą szedł na niego i mu żebra przebił temu staremu rodzonemu Mazurowi. Przewieziono go do Olsztyna i oddano do katolickiej lecznicy. Lekarze orzekli nie mniej ni więcej tylko raka, nie zważając na ogólne kontuzje, opowiedzieli się za koniecznością operacji --MyMoloboaccount (talk) 13:14, 17 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Karlino oil eruption edit

Hi: I copyedited the article and Drmies has had another look at it, but they have referencing concerns. In my opinion based on stated policy, you are perfectly free not to use citation templates as Drmies suggests you should, but the article does tend to have one reference at the end of a paragraph, so I think it would be good to add references to specific points within the paragraphs.

Also, the quid pro quo thing has been a stated requirement since January 1, 2011. I think it's a really bad rule, but it is a rule. So can you please review someone else's DYK nomination, and respond to the citation concern at Template:Did you know nominations/Karlino oil eruption, so that this deserving article can finally get on Did You Know? Re: Civic Platform edit

I am sorry but I cannot share your view in this case. I am not aware that Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources considers tabloids and yellow press like Super Express reliable sources. And statements by General Czempinski are to be considered primary sources, and first-party sources, while all information on Wikipedia should be based on secondary sources and Wikipedia:Third-party sources. Can you see that your claims are not as well-sourced as you think? An independent third party has to support General Czempinski's claims. If it is only claims by Czempinski himself, it is not notable for the article Civic Platform. Anyone could claim anything in a yellow journal. That does not make it automatically relevant for Wikipedia. I hope that you can understand this. And please don't threaten me with reporting. I should have replied on your talk page earlier, I am sorry for that, but it is no reason to threaten me. Thank you for your understanding. Referencing (Soviet invasion of Poland) edit

A while ago you added this section to the Soviet invasion of Poland article. It is very helpful, but it is not well referenced. I am currently having to chose between removing it or downgrading the article from B to C class due to this section being mostly unreferenced. Could you find the sources you used to write it and reference it, to keep the article at its level? Thanks! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk to me 18:20, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Assistance request neutrality dispute Haller's Blue Army (Poland) page edit

Hello, to resolve an ongoing neutrality dispute on the Blue Army (Poland) page, I'm requesting any assistance possible from experienced Wikipedia editors to look at the 'Controversies' section of the Blue Army page, and review the text for possible bias. I'm not an seasoned Wikipedia contributor myself, in fact I don't really edit much at all. But, when I came across the Blue Army page, I was taken aback by the blunt and inaccurate way in which the subject matter was portrayed! The list of possible neutrality violations is extensive, and due to my novice editor status all my past attempts to modify the text have been dismissed as being disruptive, and subsequently reversed:

Possible neutrality issues found on the Blue Army (Poland) 'Controversies' section: Neutrality Tag is constantly being taken down without reaching a final consensus on the subject matter. Weasel word are used to create an overall exaggerated impression of the events in question, and others are used to cast doubt on anything reported by the Polish side as being legitimate. POV and the use of questionable secondary source references, which contradict primary source accounts of the events. In this case the investigation conducted by the United States envoy to Poland Hugh S. Gibson and his subsequent State Department report on the issue. The American envoy found that: many of the newspaper reports alleging antisemitism were planted by the German and Soviet governments, and had been inflated or even based on hearsay and confabulation. Also, the envoy reported that many of the "pogroms" were in fact food riots, where an even larger number of Christian shops were ransacked. Undue Weight specific events are taken out of context, such as: abuse of civilians during the military campaign by the Blue Army troops is automatically labeled as antisemitic. Thus, taken out of context, when in fact looting was not only restricted to jewish households.

In the end, I understand that this is a difficult subject matter, and that some of the troops did engage in open antisemitism. But, by breaking the above listed neutrality rules, the editor (Faustian) who wrote much of the section, is creating a false picture of the Blue Army, in which the reader comes away with the bias impression that "Pogroming" is the only thing the Blue Army did.

Again, for a quick snapshot of the primary source's account of the events, please see the United States envoy Hugh S. Gibson Wikipedia page. And, thank you for any assistance in this matter. --68.191.79.36 (talk) 21:32, 10 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tymek, in regard to this [8], is that a fictional novel or a historical work or something in between? If it's a "novel" then we can't use it as a reliable source. If it's something like "counterfactual history" than maybe but more clarification would be needed.Volunteer Marek 03:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yep, this is awesome and fantastic. Thanks. You are fantastic too. I love the spirit of cooperation here. Tymek (talk) 17:29, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Tymek, you were rude to me on my talkpage so perhaps you shouldn't be so sarcastic now. You reverted my fair deletion of your untrustworthy source, readding the info instead of questioning whether it was appropriate to quote a "novel" as RS. Your 'cooperation' is not of the highest quality, if I may say so.Malick78 (talk) 09:01, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
revert. bad grammar, wrong citation style, not even close to being neutral. This is what you wrote when you destroyed my work. Not a single mention of the quality of the source. And I hate morons who do not help out, but simply delete somebody else's effort. If the grammar is bad, improve it. If the citation style is wrong, help with it. Neutral? That is your POV. And all you did was delete. This is very encouraging. Congratulations, be proud of yourself. Wikipedia needs people like you. Tymek (talk) 13:31, 17 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Irrespectively of the content issue, I strongly suggest that you remain civil in discussions and do not resort to insults, like you did here.--Ymblanter (talk) 09:05, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Listen, we are either making a reliable source of information for millions of people, or we are making fools of ourselves. Imagine that I change New York into Nowy Jork, and Shakespeare into Szekspir. If I did that, I'm pretty sure you would think that I am a moron, and you would be right. The fortress of Tarnopol/Ternopil was built by Poland to protect Poland, and belonged to Poland for hundreds of years. And this guy reverts my edit claiming that it is "Polonization of Ukrainian history". If such people are tolerated here, the whole project will turn into a parody. Tymek (talk) 19:38, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I can think whatever I want, and what I and/or you do can be stupid, ridiculous, whatever. This is not my point. My point is that even if you think he is a moron and an idiot (which btw he is not) you should never say he is a moron and an idiot. You should say that you disagree with his edits, and if the problem persists, act according to the dispute resolution scheme. Calling him an idiot you do not help the problem, put yourself at risk of being blocked, and do not make Wikipedia a more enjoyable place to edit.--Ymblanter (talk) 19:50, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I will apologize to him, if he promises to refrain from such edits, as this [9], that [10], or that [11], and from comments such as ignorant nonsense. Action provokes reaction. Tymek (talk) 23:53, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Battle of Depułtycze edit

The article Battle of Depułtycze has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot find any reliable sources about this book; please at the very least add a page number to the source cited

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 20:12, 1 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

You were not harsh at all, dont worry about that. The point is that I try to do my best with my extremely limited time, and at the same time I am fully aware of the fact that the references in the articles written by me leave a lot to be desired. WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II edit

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II
For our freedom and yours

Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper).

Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members!

In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:

  • we have an active assessment department. As of now, our project has tagged almost 83,000 pages as Poland-related - that's an improvement of over 3,000 new pages since the last newsletter. Out of which 30 still need a quality assessment, and 2,000, importance assessment. We have done a lot to clear the backlog here (3 years ago those numbers were 1,500 and 20,000, respectively). Can you help assess a few pages?
    • assessing articles is as easy as filling in the class= and importance= parameters on the talk page in the {{WPPOLAND|class=|importance=}} template. See here for a how-to guide.
  • once an article has an assessment template, it will appear in our article alerts and news feed, which provides information on which Poland-related articles are considered for deletion, move, or are undergoing a Good or Featured review. Watchlisting that feed, in addition to watchlisting our project's main page, is a good way to make sure you stay up to date on most Poland-related discussions.
  • you can also see detailed deletion discussions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Poland (which is a good place to watchlist if you just want to stay up to date on possible deletions of Poland-related content)
  • we have also begun B-class quality reviews on our talk page, and if our activity increases, hopefully we will be able to institute our own A-class quality reviews. As of now, we have about 500 C-class articles in need of a B-class review. If you'd like to help with them, instructions for doing B-class reviews are to be found in point 10 of our assessment FAQ. In addition to this automated list, you are also encouraged to help review articles from our B-class reviews requested list found here.
  • also, those articles will be included in our cleanup listing, which allows us to see which top-importance articles are in need for attention, and so on. We have tens of thousands articles in need of cleanup there, so if you ever need something to do, just look at this gigantic list. (I am currently reviewing the articles tagged with notability, either proving them notable or nominating for deletion; there are still several dozens left if you want to help!).
  • did you know that newly created Poland-related articles are listed here. They need to be reviewed, often cleaned-up, occasionally nominated for deletion, and their creators may need to be welcomed and invited to our project if they show promise as new authors of Poland-related content.
  • we are maintaining a Portal:Poland
  • automated Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland/Popular pages lists the most popular Poland-related pages from the previous month(s)
  • Breaking news: we are looking for a Wikipedian in Residence for the New York City area. See Wikipedia:GLAM/Józef Piłsudski Institute of America for details.

This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!

With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself?

It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 1937 in Poland, and it appears to include material copied directly from https://sites.google.com/a/secondpolishrepublic.net.pe/second-polish-republic-the-book/chapter-10.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Hi! As you said in your edit summary there, it looks as if that site copied from Wikipedia. But it also looks as if you copied some content for the new article from some other Wikipedia page. That's fine, as you know, as long as you provide attribution, as explained at WP:Copying within Wikipedia. Could I ask you to go ahead and do that? A quick way is to use {{Copied}} on the talk page of the source and destination articles. If you are in any doubt about how to do it, please let me know (here will be fine) and I'll deal with it. I'd need to know where the content came from, though! Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:38, 11 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Iwan Babij edit

The article Iwan Babij has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article I think is just some kinda personal connexion. There is no merit in it to anyone except, perhaps, his own family. This has now come up at WP:RfD with the redirect Babij. So what? WP:BLP violation, and patently WP:PUSHPOV.

Polish letters edit

Hello, I see that you have written many articles of the history of Poland, for which I am glad. However, I have one thing to comment on: for example, in the article Gustaw Paszkiewicz, there were many links to pages like Białystok, which you however had written Bialystok, and similarly with many other links. These are relatively easy to correct, but I recommend you before saving the page check the links, whether there is some name where there should be an ą or ń. In any case, I am glad of the articles you have written and hope that you continue with it. Regards, K9re11 (talk) 10:36, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am fully aware of the Polish diacritics, missing in my articles. I dont really have time for them, and I hope that some friendly Wikipedia editor will help with them. Cheers. Tymek (talk) 03:34, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
I understand, especially if one doesn't have them on the keyboard it can take lot of time. I have fixed a lot of such things earlier, but a user has asked me not to do such things, so I am for the moment doing such work in the Finnish Wikipedia. And I wish you continue with writing articles to Wikipedia. K9re11 (talk) 15:42, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
One thing I thought of that you might not know: some letters can be produced with a standard keyboard, such as ó, with first pressing ´ and then o. In any case, keep up your good work. K9re11 (talk) 22:46, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

thanks and suggest a tool for disambiguating edit

Hi Tymek, Thank you for your recent contributions. I came to a number of the articles you've edited in the Polish military history area, and ended up reading them with interest. I've learned a lot from browsing in military history topics in Wikipedia. Anyhow, I want to suggest to you that you take a look at a tool, the "New Article Dablinks Arranged by Editor" report. You are currently tied for 6th among Wikipedia editors listed there when I write this, because you apparently created 12 ambiguous links within your editing recently. It's a neat tool because it makes it very easy for one to "fix" the ambiguous links, by just clicking on "FIX" and selecting from the available options, at least if you are knowledgeable about the topic area.

A cut-and-paste from what it shows for you right now (it may be updated before you see it though) is:

User:Tymek (12 dablinks)
8th Legions' Infantry Regiment - FIX
Added Dvina, Niemirow, Rejowiec
11th Infantry Regiment (Poland) - FIX
Added 7th Infantry Division, Rowne
4th Legions' Infantry Regiment - FIX
Added Konstantynow, Modlin
Polish 24th Uhlan Regiment - FIX
Added Central Lithuania, Stanislawow
Polish 27th Uhlan Regiment - FIX
Added Modlin, Swiercze
7th Legions' Infantry Regiment - FIX
Added Malkinia

Actually I think i just fixed the 11th Infantry Regiment (Poland) article's ambiguous link to 7th Infantry Division, because it was easy to guess that you meant the 7th Infantry Division of Poland rather than one from a different country. :) But Poland has a bunch of places named Rowne. Maybe you can tell easily which one is meant? I certainly can't fix it myself.

Anyhow, I just want to suggest your looking at the tool and seeing if you like to use it to make your contributions even more valuable than they already are. Overall I personally think it's good that editors specialize in different things, and maybe you do or do not like to pay special attention to this stuff. Please note, it's better to leave an ambiguous link in place, rather than risk making an error. And also the tool is most helpful when the corresponding disambiguation page offers up the correct choice to make, but sometimes/often it does not. If the dab page is missing an items that should be there, then really fixing the situation is harder (you yourself could possibly add the missing item to the disambiguation page as a redlink, or even create a stub article on the topic so it shows as a bluelink), but you might or might not want to engage in that. Also your history sources might themselves be ambiguous, and you might not be sure about which choice to make.

Either way, whether you end up making any fixes of these or not, I hope this is helpful to your understanding, and I hope you will keep up the good work you have been doing! cheers, --doncram 20:23, 8 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Academic Sports Association edit

Hi! Would you consider moving the page to the original Polish name? FISU calls it Akademicki Zwiazek Sportowy and EUSA calls it University Sports Association of Poland. "Academic Sports Association" is the name that FISU and EUSA call the Israel's organisation. --Pelmeen10 (talk) 15:40, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Piotr Hertel edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Piotr Hertel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
