Landor Associates edit

I have just reverted this article back to an earlier version, cutting out all of the overly promotional material that you had added. This is an encyclopedia, not place for corporate profiles, or for advertisements masquerading as articles. Please take a look at WP:SPAM and, if you are employed by the company or otherwise connected with it, please read WP:COI and WP:BFAQ. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 19:10, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, I see that you do have a conflict. – ukexpat (talk) 19:20, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Talkback edit

New message written 25 October 2012

I, Trevor Wade, work at Landor Associates as director of digital marketing. I am going to edit and updated the "Landor Associates" entry later today. I acknowledge that I have a conflict of interest because I work for Landor Associates. However, I am trying with the best of intentions to craft an informative, accurate, and neutral portrait of Landor Associates. This is the second time I have attempted to do so. The first time my efforts were rejected. I have since tried to better understand the rules of Wikipedia and hope my learnings result in a better entry. Since the first time I tried, two well-researched articles on Walter Landor and Landor Associates have also been written, giving me better sources to cite. Please let me know if there are parts of this entry that you would like me to modify. I welcome any suggestions you have to make "Landor Associates" an informative and neutral entry.

If my copy is accepted, my next step will be to upload photos from Landor history.

Thank you for your assistance, TrevorWade (talk) 21:08, 25 October 2012 (UTC)TrevorReply

I, Trevor Wade, continue to work at Landor Associates. I have tried to learn more about how to write an appropriate Wiki article for my company, and I am going to try again: (1) To update broken links on the Walter Landor Wiki page and add links to new independent articles about Walter Landor that have come to my attention, and (2) To improve the Landor Associates Wiki page.

I appreciate any guidance you have to offer about proper language and linking once I start editing.

My online bio is here: http://landor.com/#!/about/people/trevor-wade/

Thank you Trevor

As of 24 June 2011, I, Trevor Wade, work for Landor Associates. I have been trying to add to the articles about Walter Landor and Landor Associates because (1) Landor has a storied history that is of interest to many designers and branding professionals, (2) Walter Landor was one of the founders of the branding field, and (3) people outside of Landor have asked us to. The bulk of the information I have included comes from third party sources and relies heavily on Bernie Gallagher's masters thesis. I have cited sources extensively, though some mentions inevitably come from the company itself.

Bernie Gallagher came to me after graduating with his master's thesis and shared it with me. He allowed Landor to publish excerpts on our website, and he is currently in the process of trying to publish his thesis. He works is senior documentation specialist at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. His expertise lies in data mapping historical object information. More about Bernie: Bernie has worked at the museum for over 20 years, overseeing the cataloging of objects by curators, specialists, volunteers, and interns and maintaining proper data standards in the database systems. His specialties include the collections of information technology and communications and work and industry. Bernie earned an MA in history museum studies from the Cooperstown graduate program at the State University of New York, College at Oneonta, where he wrote his thesis on Walter Landor, “A Brand Is Built in the Mind: Walter Landor and the Transformation of Industrial Design in the Twentieth Century.”

The purpose of editing the article on Landor Associats and Walter Landor is to provide additional historical information for those interested in the history of branding and design. And to answer questions that people regularly ask us through our website.

It is not the job of a Wikipedia article to answer questions that people ask on your website, you should deal with that on your website. Wikipedia articles are not a substitute for or extension of your own website. You need to understand that basic principle. Take a look at the pages in the welcome message that I left above. – ukexpat (talk) 02:05, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
