Peter Gurney edit

I agree with you. I've made a small start on the controversial aspects. They should certainly be present, but should not dominate. Please join in :) Fiddle Faddle 13:46, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Giler S returns greetings edit

And welcome to you! I can't comment on three of your four principal topics for editing, but I'll certainly keep an eye on the fourth... talkGiler S 16:09, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Masonic Lodge Officers edit

I've noticed that your Lodge Officer articles are only a paragraph or two long, and I don't see how they can get any longer. Might I suggest an all-in-one general article on officers instead? MSJapan 17:40, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It has been done. I was already working on the article, but your comment has spurred me back into action on it. Let me know your thoughts. Masonic Lodge Officers. Timothy Titus 20:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Pedantry edit

If it weren't a convention that users don't edit other users' userpages, this particular user might have edited No. 4 to No. IV...

Thanks for your reply on this one; you're quite right that it may be a modern affectation (although I note that the earliest Secretarial writing paper I've seen — although admittedly probably postwar — says No. IV) but the fact remains that it's an accepted affectation, at least within the lodge, within the 18 other red apron lodges and within the Grand Stewards' Lodge. So there; the Secretary has spoken. Arguing against myself, though, it is true that the official UGLE list has us down as 4...

PS Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Hope you're better now.

Further Pedantry edit

And now I come to think of it, putting London in parentheses rather implies that it's within the Metropolitan Province of London, rather than being, as you are of course aware, unattached (albeit meeting in London).

I accept your counterargument! talkGiler S 14:36, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dab header on Hythe Pier, Railway and Ferry edit

Hello Timothy

You added a (to my eyes rather odd) dab header to this article:

This article is about the pier railway at Hythe in the County of Hampshire. For other railway stations with similar names, see Hythe railway station.

I couldn't work out what you meant by 'other railway stations' as neither the dab header nor the rest of the article makes any reference to railway stations. So I removed it, pending some kind of clarification of why you felt there was a need for disambiguation here. -- Chris j wood 13:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Talk page format edit

I've been looking for something for my talk page as a better introduction, especially since it's time I did my first archive. Yours is a good one so I have borrowed some of it. I hope you don't mind. Truthanado 18:05, 8 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
