Proposed deletion of Ron Scot Fry edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ron Scot Fry, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable, unsourced and few Ghits

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ApprenticeFan talk contribs 05:43, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Ron Scot Fry. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. 12.76.131.103 (talk) 22:47, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please don't worry about this warning: while you're not allowed to remove articles for deletion notices, there's nothing wrong with your action of removing a PROD notice. There's not often a good reason to remove it for no reason, but when you've expanded the article as you did to this one, there's no good reason not to remove it. Good job on the expansion :-) Nyttend (talk) 02:01, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Peter Estenberg edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Peter Estenberg, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~lindas/Estenberg.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Copyright information edit

Hi. Please do not paste text onto Wikipedia as you did here with material copied from [1]. While an alphabetical list of descendants is not copyrightable, the presentation of information can be and text such as "owner of land which was bound to furnish troopers" certainly is. Additionally, large chunks of copyrighted text are unusable, even if placed in quotation marks, in accordance with WP:NFC, and even brief quotations must be used for a reason such as the examples given in order to comply with fair use. We can't just replicate this or this, though you are welcome to use the facts from them in constructing new text entirely in your own words. (Translations are derivative works and protected by copyright to the same extent as the originals.) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:05, 7 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 19 edit

Hi. When you recently edited Viola Spolin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Second City (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) edit

Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing articles to Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)? It needs contributors to increase diversity of content from different countries and bring about large scale improvements. The idea at some point will be to host a National Contest related to your country of interest. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:15, 21 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
