Fair use rationale for File:WartLeap.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:WartLeap.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Attribution edit

Where are you getting the text for your new articles from? It does not appear that you've written them yourself, so the original authors have to be attributed for copyright reasons. The history of a previous version of the Wart article has been merged with your new one, but I later noticed that there was more history missing. I couldn't find it. I can't tell where the text of the Ness page came from either. Reach Out to the Truth 13:41, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Most of the Ness article seems to come from User:CarpainterBlue/Sandbox, which is an old revision of Ness (Earthbound). Ness is not notable though, as there are not enough reliable sources covering him.(there probably are, but we haven't found them yet) When such coverage is found, it should be remade at "Ness (Earthbound)", and then moved to (character) if needed. History is very important in Wikipedia articles. Blake (Talk·Edits) 21:20, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I see. Okay, then, I'll try to move Ness (Earthbound) to Character, to become one at last. And yes, it's true I toke that from the guy who wrote infos, it's because to make it faster to make the character. It was hard for me to find the receptions for him than Wart (character).--Super-tony980 (talk) 14:11, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
If you are an admin, I believe I could trust you to move Ness (Earthbound) to Ness (character), I'm not able to do that, I thought I could blank the page and move it to the character's article, because it was already redirected to the character--I'm just an autoconfirmed user.--Super-tony980 (talk) 14:29, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I will ask for it to be moved. I still don't think it displays enough coverage in sources though. Blake (Talk·Edits) 14:47, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

March 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Ness (Earthbound), as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. File copyright problem with File:Mariowart9sa.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Mariowart9sa.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 03:34, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Super Mario (3DS) edit

Hi, the edits are being undone because it is speculation, which is just guessing. This is called original research, and isn't allowed in Wikipedia. Wikipedia runs on verifiability, which means that everything needs to come from reliable sources, and not random people guessing about things. Thanks, Blake (Talk·Edits) 17:53, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:WartEarlyAppearance.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:WartEarlyAppearance.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 08:04, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

WP:OWN edit

Hi. Regarding your recent edit summary, "My article sightly changed. Who did this?", you do not own the articles you edit. Other people are free to edit articles. If you disagree that the edits help the article for legit reasons, then you can boldly revert them, but you can't just revert because it wasn't done by you and you don't like it. Blake (Talk·Edits) 13:43, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

If this is about the Wart article, then I heavily edited the article, yes. It was filled with all sorts of original research and unverified claims that lacked reliable sources. If you scan through the "view history", you can see in my edit summaries why I deleted various information. Sergecross73 msg me 14:52, 26 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Skull Kid.png edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Skull Kid.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 04:54, 16 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Skull Kid edit

WP:OSE. The other Zelda characters have their own articles because there exists significant reception for them. Skull Kid has only one reference for reception, and as such, is not notable. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 18:21, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

For articles to be WP:NOTABLE, they need to be significantly covered in third party reliable sources. One source is not significant coverage. Not all characters need articles. A lot of series don't even have articles for most of their main characters. They aren't needed. Wikipedia only covers notable things. If you can find good sources covering Skull Kid in detail, then you can remake the article. Blake (Talk·Edits) 01:59, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I will try and help find more sources, but if I can't find any I will be redirecting/merging the article back. Thanks, Blake (Talk·Edits) 14:20, 26 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, merging back. It needs significant coverage(this means more then just a trivial mention) in good, reliable sources. The IGN source is good. The other two sources are random blog sites that are not good sources. this is also a good source. If you can find more coverage in reliable sources, then the article can be kept split. Merging back into the list does not kill the article though. It is fine if it is merged. Not everything needs an article. Skull Kid just doesn't seem like something that stands out and needs special attention. Keep in mind that I am not against character articles. I have created/helped create many articles like Sly Cooper (character), Pit (Kid Icarus), Mr. Resetti, Daxter, and many Pokemon species. Blake (Talk·Edits) 17:19, 26 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Super Mario (series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Princess Daisy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
