Bahramshah edit

Hi thanks for reviewing this article. I'd be grateful if you could indicate any sections where yu feel the tone is inappropriate so I can think about revising. I'm also not clear why you feel it may not be neutral (that was a surprise). I didn't put sections in as it is so short. There are very few sources for this ruler so pretty unlikely there will be more factual content to add to this. Many thanks Mccapra (talk) 07:30, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Niebergall edit

Hi Sulfurboy, you tagged my new surname article Niebergall as an orphan, because no other articles link to it. That's exactly the way it should be. If you take a look at the article, you may recognice the note at the end:

This page or section lists people with the surname Niebergall. If an internal link intending to refer to a specific person led you to this page, you may wish to change that link by adding the person's given name(s) to the link.

So it would be helpful if your not tagging surname articles as orphans any more. Thank you!

Hi. I've declined your speedy request as there doesn't seem to be an article of which this is a duplicate. Your request had a redlink in it (why, I don't know 'cos there's a disam at Prolepsis), but there's no duplicate I can see. Peridon (talk) 20:34, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Got it. You put in a URL. The template expects an article name as it's for internal things only. It'll treat whatever you put after article= as being in [[s. That had me baffled last night, as I couldn't see any spelling mistake. Peridon (talk) 10:21, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion contested: Northbridge International School Cambodia edit

Hello Sulfurboy. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Northbridge International School Cambodia, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotonal. Secondary schools are generally notable. Thank you. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 19:53, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • If an article seems like an advertisement, you have the option of adding a {{advert}} tag. This will alert other editors to the promotional tone in the article without asking for the article to be deleted. See Template:Advert for how to use the tag. There is no basis for claiming that the article does not follow Wikipedia's policies. The Norwegian sources are to be trusted, even if the original language is Norwegian. I would therefore argue that the head tagging of this article is to be ceased immediately. The article, however, may retain the stub tag under, that was changed by me. User:Carsten R D

The tag involved your use of social media links, not norwegian links. I just assumed this was obvious, sorry.

Esperanza Cruz Hidalgo edit

You tagged my article Esperanza Cruz Hidalgo for deletion due to lack of citations.

You checked my page while I was still working on it. I have added citations. Thanks.

George Joannides edit

Additions to the page have been made, hopefully up to par. Joannides is an interesting historical figure; it's surprising there wasn't already a page created for him. Per your advise, I went to remove "the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}" but couldn't locate it.

device page changes edit

Hi Sulfurboy, I took some time to expand to a mediumish size, and was wondering if you'd like to patrol it again (since it's basically a new page). thx :) Note that I often find press releases useful when there aren't better sources with key facts (like the canada announcement, etc.), but I understand a lot of people don't think that way, so wouldn't be offended if you preferred them trimmed. Thank you for revising this page. You help is of great value to me. I've seen that you put the article into a category, Israeli People. This is very good. I need your help on figuring out the rest of the issues: "This article has an unclear citation style." -> Can you be more specific on that? What exactly can I do to make it clear? "This article may be in need of reorganization to comply with Wikipedia's layout guidelines." -> I will work on this later today, but some advice will be of great help. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miha dani (talkcontribs) 12:55, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Looks fine now really. The only thing I can advise (and the reason I left the one tag is there needs to be citations for that first section. Sulfurboy (talk) 16:34, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

17:51:47, 6 July 2015 review of submission by Gpeja edit

I am not asking for a review just a quick note if the direction I am taking (by removing the mission and references to advertisement like references) is the way to go. The statements made in the article are the facts (year of founding, an interesting fact that is supported by a man (Michael Smith), targeted population, programs and the Canada wide support). Should I add criticism (for example the name is a bit strange for instead of and there are some complaints about influence)[1]?

  1. ^ Martin, C (2012-12-28). "Dr Maria Issa, President and Dr Julie Wong, Director, Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology". Bristol, UK: Research Media Ltd. Retrieved 2015-06-28. JW: I think that in comparison to other countries Canada fares better in terms of the position of women in science and technology: the image of a female scientist is, for the most part, recognised. Our CAN $100 bank note shows a female scientist on it; however, the image of a female scientist in Canada is multifaceted. Canada is a country that is built on immigration and the ethnicity of visible minorities is something that has created controversy.

Gpeja (talk) 17:51, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yes that helps, but I'd also focus on putting some of those lists in a prose form. Just having a large list of accomplishments or what the org does makes something look advert like.Sulfurboy (talk) 17:53, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I combined everything in the one prose section (History). The programs section didn't make sense after I re-wrote history. Does it make sense now?Gpeja (talk) 06:33, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've approved it and did a few housekeeping cleanups on it, if you want to further improve the article I would recommend adding some more categories. Sulfurboy (talk) 16:37, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

07 July review: Fair Stone Draft edit

Hello,

thanks for taking the time and reviewing the draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Fair_Stone. The article still seems to be missing the formal tone. I reviewed the text for any claim or marketing blah blah. I removed 3-4 sentences but could not find anything else. Is there anything in particular you critize? The article is meant to describe the formal requirements of the standard as well as the procedure. The previous reviews were very helpful and I have adjusted (i.e. reduced) the text accordingly. Segments such as the motivation or the need for a standard have been omitted. The reception segment contains an endorsement ("particulary recomendable" label), this however is a justified third party evaluation.

Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Azradon (talkcontribs) 12:06, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

From Draft to Final Article - Source Page Name Mistake edit

Hello Sulfurboy,

This draft was approved and moved to a wrong name Page.

Here is the old link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bouclair&direction=next&oldid=668657099

The article was published under the name: Urbashi Chatterjee while it was supposed to be Bouclair. This was the message I sent you on 27th June after the initial acceptance:

""Thank you and Can I change my article page heading/username Hi Sulfurboy,

Thank you for approving Bouclair Home contribution. I however, would like to change the heading/direct link of the page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urbashi_Chatterjee) to Bouclair Home. It is currently Urbashi Chatterjee and looks pretty odd as my user page talking about the company. Can the article be better named?

I also want to delete my sandbox history so that article appears as a BOuclair page on Wikipedia and not as my Sandbox contribution or user page. Please help. Thanks

Urbashi Chatterjee (talk) 11:18, 29 June 2015 (UTC)Urbashi ChatterjeeUrbashi Chatterjee (talk) 11:18, 29 June 2015 (UTC)""

The article had to be re-moved to another page which is the final target page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bouclair

However, the source page which redirects to this target page is appearing on Google results. I need you to guide me to change that. I have tried removing the redirect link from my user page and even deleted the old content from sandbox and user pages of Urbashi Chatterjee. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Urbashi_Chatterjee https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Urbashi_Chatterjee/sandbox&redirect=no

For your reference: https://www.google.co.in/search?q=bouclair&oq=bouclair&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i60j69i61j69i59l2j69i61.6495j0j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8

Please do guide me in this because my name appearing on a company page or article makes no sense to me or to the company...especially when the page is on Google through Wikipedia. Please help me fix this.

The first two paragraphs and last paragraph have no citations. Sulfurboy (talk) 17:25, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
That, and the whole thing is written like a press release. Start by properly verifying the Emmy, right where it needs to be. Drmies (talk) 17:31, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Alan Chebot is mentioned in the referenced wikipedia pages for:

Do I need citations if he's mentioned on those wiki pages as a director? Melissa Marie 2015 (talk) 14:56, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Melissa Marie 2015, all content needs to be verified, and Wikipedia is not a reliable source for Wikipedia. I looked at the WOMR and the Restless Heart articles, and while Chebot is mentioned there, there are no reliable secondary sources to verify the information. I believe that should answer the question. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 15:36, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. Can you give me a bit more feedback on my references? Were you not able to get access to the research papers? SL is not a front page brand, but it has a unique place in the software landscape and has an interesting backstory. Not a lot of its early history has gotten press coverage as it was used in highly sensitive or classified projects.

Can you comment on what in particular does not make this notable enough.

thanks, and thanks for your work on wikipedia,

here is the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:SL_Corporation_(software_company)

Request on 18:08:41, 8 July 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Nitareeny edit

Hello, I received an email that my submission for Sex in the Title by author Zack Love was not accepted. Was it because of the article it was in in USA Today? or the way I edited the submission? This is my first time doing this and it's a bit overwhelming. Hope you that you can lend a hand or have some advice. Thanks in advance. Best Regards, Anita Viccica Toss

Hello Graham As I understood your main objection to my "Eugen Schileru"articlea as being its lack of verifiable sources, I decided to list under "References" and/or "External Links" only the titles with links on the Web, so instantly verifiable. I'd like to maintain the list under "Further Reading", as these are solid sources of info, most available through "Amazon" or other chains. I'm greatly appreciative for any further suggestions, piece of advice you'll send my way. Yes, I'm a seasoned reader of Wikipedia, by megatons, but "Eugen Schileru" is or hopefully will be my debut contribution. ````

If you are a seasoned reader of wiki, then you should see how offputting and confusing the formatting of the page is. This is what makes verifying the citations so difficult. If you need specific help formatting the page, please let me know and I'll link you to the appropriate help pages. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:21, 9 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Yes, all sources were in "confusing and offputting" jumble, for it was my first foray in using the system.
With help from my son, the short text is correctly annotated now and resubmitted. I did appreciate your so precise points.
  Thank you, Graham.
