You are not being threatened for making a factual edit. Consensus emerged, through discussion at Talk:Penn State child sex abuse scandal, to use that as the title, not the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. You have repeatedly changed text, in multiple articles, that affects the name of the article. Further, your changes have broken links in the related articles.

You refused, up until now, to discuss your edits; that's why they've been dealt with as if they are disruptive. When you refused to engage in discussion, the only option we had left was to block your account. (To that end, it was not a threat that your account would be blocked so much as a warning that more such edits would leave no alternative but to block your account to prevent further disruption to articles.)

Please read WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle to understand how Wikipedia works. If there is disagreement about an edit, it should be discussed on the article talk page, with the aim of reaching a WP:Consensus; if that fails, there are WP:Dispute resolution procedures. Can you please explain why I am incorrect to say that it is a Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Scandal, when he (an ex-employee of Penn State when the crimes occurred) is the only person that has been convicted in a court of law of a crime. No one else from Penn State University, I repeat no one, has been convicted of a crime has so far, as of this date. Is it not our principles that say you are innocent until proven guilty? Has an employee of Penn State committed any crime? Three PSU empolyees are charged, but until they are found guilty is it fair to call it a "Penn State child Sex Abuse Scandal?" How can one call it a Penn State Sex Abuse Scandal and besmirch a whole university based on the actions of "one ex-employee?" No one has been convicted of a crime, but the Freeh Report but the blame squarely on four top officials at PSU. One of them is now dead, so it's impossible for him to be convicted of a crime. The president of the university resigned his post and was indicted by a federal grand jury; that case hasn't gone to trial yet. That's why the scope of the scandal has been deemed to go beyond just Sandusky and cover the entire university, and that's one reason why the university is named in the title of the article. The other reason is that, in common usage, the media refers to the scandal as the Penn State scandal more than the Jerry Sandusky scandal; Wikipedia prefers the most commonly recognizable name for the article title. —C.Fred (talk) 21:08, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
