Welcome edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out more about how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:

  1. To find out more about creating articles, read the introduction, tutorial, and the guide to creating your first article.
  2. Do not write articles about yourself, your company, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
  3. Wikipedia is not an advertising service.
  4. For experiments, please use the sandbox.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Gaffertape (talk) 23:04, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Re:Request edit

I saw your request on Wikipedia Talk:userboxes on how to make a userbox

well heres the easiest version :

code edit

{{userbox|blue|yellow|[[Image:Flag of Europe.svg|40px]]|This is an example of a simple userbox}}
    | | | | | |
userbox | second color | size text, info (could be a picture)
first color the name of the picture(could be text)

result edit

This is an example of a simple userbox

Your recent edits edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Jodi Rell.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Dave Barry's residence edit

I can find Web sites that give Dave Barry's residence as Miami (although that is by no means definitive, and none of them are particularly reliable in the Wikipedia sense), but I haven't found one yet that gives Coral Gables as his residence. Can you cite a reliable source that gives Coral Gables as his residence. Please remember that, per Wikipedia:Verifiability, "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." -- Donald Albury 21:02, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Modern Whig Party Edit edit

While I agree with your edit, the edit comment you posted borders on incivility and goes against WP:AGF. Just try to keep it clean next time :) Cheers! Paranormal Skeptic (talk) 13:40, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your edit of League of the South edit

You removed sourced material from the lead claiming it was unsourced, also saying in your edit summary 'no reason'. That the SPLC deems the League of the South a hate group is clearly sourced in the article. It is also discussed in the article. Because of that I've reverted your lead. Technically, if a logo consists of simple geometry (as the logo for Pittsburgh Steelers does), it can be displayed on a user page, but proper acknowledgement is required. You did supply the proper acknowledgement, so it might be safe to revert the user page to before DASHBot removed the image. mechamind90 20:19, 16 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Word choice edit

Please be careful how you word your edit summaries—accusing another editor of being an "egomaniac" is unnecessarily uncivil and hostile. Thank you. —Bill Price (nyb) 00:16, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. Still, there is no good faith in adding yourself to a notable natives list, it goes against a specific tenet of wikipedia. Wm.C (talk) 02:19, 18 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
