Hello, can you confirm you are yourself? --candle•wicke 01:34, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Greetings, wherever have you been and of course I just knew you were going to sign in there because I can predict these things, hum hum. Um yes, I imagine it means what it says, no? But anyway, you'll never guess what just happened, only some wretched IP was bothering my discussion page with astonishing claims that table-tennis might not be big outside China! I mean, the sheer cheek of some of our contributors!!! However, I think of that in terms of how big is the Super Bowl outside the US? And even if it is big outside the US it would have to be mighty big to defeat China... and taking a look at the men's competition, I see Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Austria, France, Slovakia, Italy, Romania, Russia, Czech Republic, Australia, Nigeria, Brazil, Argentina, Slovenia, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Croatia, Serbia, Sweden, Noway, Chinese Taipei, Mexico, Ukraine, Egypt, England, Latvia, Belgium, Iceland, Spain, Singapore, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Scotland, Bulgaria, and, heavens above, India to seal it! (apologies if I've missed any countries) I think that IP may have fried egg all over its face... I wonder what your opinion on the matter is? --candle•wicke 01:55, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
BorgQueen is at work and cannot log in... can you post the seal and deal with this minor issue which the poor user has been waiting for the past quarter of a day to have resolved... --candle•wicke 01:58, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Taken care of. --BorgQueen (talk) 10:29, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Your assistance is required as BorgQueen and myself have disagreed over an ITN concerning the natural disaster which Brazil is currently experiencing. Alas that means we have a stalemate due to a typical lack of interest. Please help by casting the deciding vote if you are in the vicinity. --candle•wicke 02:15, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
ITN for Foreign relations of Guinea
Latest comment: 14 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
On 7 May, 2009, In the news was updated with a news item that involved the article Foreign relations of Guinea, which you substantially updated. If you know of another interesting news item involving a recently created or updated article, then please suggest it on the In the news candidates page.
The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 68 FAs, 7 FLs, and 146 GAs, which includes 3 more FAs. We did however lose one FL and 2 GAs over the past month, but we still basically broke even with the 3 new FAs.

Welcome to the Eighth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
Hello from the new Christian films task force! I was recently apart of founding a task force, so this is the story. For several months, I would not only contribute to Christian films, groups, etc., but I'd also see other users working on similar articles. I really wanted to create a project for us to work from. Filmcom contacted me about trying to get a task force going, so we began working together on it. When it appeared the idea was dying, we continued to fight, and several other users joined!
Thanks to the efforts of many users, I'd like to introduce you to the Christian films task force! We are currently having a bot tag all Christian film-related articles, and we are working to define our project scope. We now have our own icon and shortcut (WP:CFTF), with ten users signed out thus far - these are just some of the things that have been happening in the last few days. If you have any interest in joining such a project, we welcome everyone to join and get involved.

Only eleven days in this round to go and it's looking very interesting in the Wildcard race. In particular there is an epic struggle for the automation progression spot at the top of Pool C with only two points in it as I type. In other news, congratulations to Durova for her 200th successful featured picture nomination on the English Wikipedia - well done!

I got this vandal guy bugging me. I dont really care about him, I dont want you to
block him or anything but i've noticed that every month he is like, flushed
from all the vandal warnings. For example, On march he gets a message saying
" this is your final warning. Refrain or you will be blocked for wikipedia "
But then is becomes April, and then it says " Welcome to wikipedia.
we have noticed that you have made an edit that appears to be unconstructive "
instead of " You have been temporarily blocked ".
He actually always does this, like he vandal like 25 time a month so it's evergoing. to find his page, go into my history
on my talk page you'll see 69.113.79.227 :)
Hey everyone, it's iMatthew! I'm so glad to finally back, and I need to thank Garden for taking care of things while I was ill. There are about 6 days left in the round, and I'm sending the newsletter out now to remind some of you to pick it up in these last few days if you want to get in the next round.
I've listed a few of you that have the chance to catch up before the end of the round in italics over to the right. Keep working!

FPC discussion

This page has been started to review, discuss, and propose changes to the current closure process of Wikipedia Featured picture candidates. The need for this discussion has arisen following complaints and suggestions raised at the FPC talk page in May 2009. This time I believe we are getting somewhere and would appreciate your participation. Alvesgaspar (talk) 22:54, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't like the cyclone headline. It's too violent. In the news should be G-rated.--Chuck Marean 00:00, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

WikiCup newsletter XVII.V
Latest comment: 14 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
This is just a quick reminder that the round ends this Friday, May 29, 2009.
I wanted to let you guys know the current standings. If you are very close, but not close enough, work as hard as possible these next two days. Pool leaders are listed as usual, and under the 10 wildcards, are competitors that are still fighting for a spot. Also, if you currently have any un-reviewed GAN's up and you'd like them to be reviewed and counted for this round, you must place them on the appropriate thread of the WikiCup talk page.

Remember that table that you created of the largest and second largest cities in each country that I added the flagicons to? Well, do you think it's possible if we could expand it to include the third largest cities in each country as well? GlobetrotterUltima (talk) 14:51, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi all. Round 2 is officially over, and we're very pleased with the results. The lowest passing score was over 200! We are very impressed with the last minute pushes to get a spot, which many of you did through mainspace editing your butts off for the last week or so. We really hope that those of you who did a lot of mainspace editing this time around will take some of that and turn it into good and featured content next round.
The pools for Round 3 will be up soon; the round starts tomorrow, June 1, 2009. As always, nominations that were nominated last round but not passed yet, may count for this round. Hope to see you all working very hard, as you are down to the Top 16, and it's going to take a lot to make the Top 8!
Those of you who were eliminated and no longer wish to receive this newsletter may remove your name from this list. If you were eliminated, but are still looking for some fun editing competition, check out User:Shappy/Amazing Race Wikipedia which starts in July.
