Speedy deletion nomination of Sode mutt edit

A tag has been placed on Sode mutt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 15:29, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

May I help? edit

Hi Sonar shet, I understand that you have some disagreement over the content of the Daivadnya article? At wikipedia articles are constructed by consensus among editors. We would definelty like to hear your point of view in order to improve the article. Howerve please understand that some of the actions you have done are not condusive to the spirit of collaboration that makes Wikipedia work.

  1. Please dont arbitrarily delete talk page messages like you have done here[1]. You should create a new section on the talk page by clicking on the "new section" tab on top to start a new discussion. Also please sign your edits by typing --~~~~ at the end of your message(just like I have done at the bottom). That way we know who has said what.
  2. Please dont use your user page (or, for that matter any page on wikipedia) to attack any community or group of persons like this:[2]
  3. Please be civil in your discussions. Be polite and discuss matters. Assume good faith towards your fellow editors. Please dont use large caps like this[3] as it is considered to be shouting at others.
  4. Please dont blank out pages like you did to Daivadnya here[4]. It is considered to be vandalism and if you continue to do so after being warned you may be blocked or banned.

There are many more thing I would like to point out but thats enough. We welcome new contributors and would like to see you become a good contributor. I would advise you to go through the links in the Welcome message above, especially Five pillars of Wikipedia. It will help you understand the rules of wikipedia and to become a good contributor. If you need any help you can ask me on my talk page. --Deepak D'Souza 09:28, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page User talk:Feydey has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Moved your article! edit

I moved your article "Vaishnavism in Daivajnya Brahmins" to "Vaishnavism in Daivajnas". The tile was not very appropriate!

Merge! edit

I would suggest you to move your article Vaishnavism in Daivajnas to the the Religion section of the main article Daivajna for the following reasons:

  • Creating articles should not overload Wikipedia, and should make compilation and navigation easier!
  • This article is about Daivajnas itself who share the same roots and ancestry.
  • Vaishnavite Daivajnas are an integral part of Konkani speaking Daivajnas in Goa.
  • There are many unnecessary details in your article which are repeated over again!
  • And please do not use the word "Sonar",which is considered very offensive in Goa,and is only used fro non-brahmin goldsmiths, use the word Shet instead! hope you understand!

We can make the article Daivajna even better!

Thank you!

Daivadnya! edit

  • ज्ञ is pronounced as "dnya" in goan Konkani and Marathi,as both the sister languages follow vedic Sanskrit pronunciation, and not modern Sanskrit pronunciation like Kannada or Hindi..eg. in Hindi ज्ञ is pronounced as "gya" and ಜ್ಞ as "gna" in Kannada and Telugu, and "ggo" in Bengali,so its opt that we write it as Daivadnya in Goa and Maharashtra.
  • And its written as "Daivadnea" is written in Portuguese and not in English.

And please do read the article properly all the things are pretty much clear in it!

About reference! edit

I have found an article about the Kumta case in the book " Mahan Daivadnya Sant ani Vibhuti" ,authored by Pandurang Purushottam Shirodkar, first speaker of Goa assembly, freedom fighter and an anthropologist and father of Goa archaeology department's head Dr Prakashchandra Shirodkar, you cannot say that the reference is wrong! It sounded very much absurd! Its not necessary to cite references from the court documents !:)

Uploading Images edit

Hi, Im sorry but I may not be very usefull in this regard as I have not uploaded many images. You can upload an image using the "Upload File" link in the toolbox(on the left hand side of this page). You can read the instructions there and get to know more. Take care of the copyright issues first because images with faulty licenses get deleted immediately. --Deepak D'Souza 11:57, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

July 2009 edit

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Vaishnavism in Daivajnas. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:52, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do some research first edit

This is not a personal attack! but all ur statements seem to be contradictory!

  • These arts have been inheited but the Shets of Goa by their ancestors, historians say that they have inherited them from Bhojas
  • Migration og the Shets to south Canara,Udupi dates back to 16th century CE,and since then their customs have been modified a lot and they have adopted many other customs which were never found in goan Shets nor are they found in them now!
  • For example: Eating fish was never considered degrading amongst the Shets,on the other hand poeple in South canara udupi ,Kerala have given up eating fish coz hey were not accepted by the local brahmins!
  • Brahmins of Goa,do not consider singing and drama as demeaning! only the ladies were not allowed to do that! no such instances are found in Goan history!
