Welcome!

edit

Hello, Shaunawatt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Beerenberg Farm, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Shauna Watt is employed by Beereneberg Farm and as such has been compensated for updating and editing the associated Beerenberg Farm page.

Shaunawatt (talk) LX I have added the conflict of interest declaration - although not sure if I have done it correctly. The Beerenberg page is published so I am now not sure how to submit that as a draft, can you help. I have also submitted several photographs through OTRS with authorisation from my boss at Beerenberg for approval to use.

I've already added {{connected contributor (paid)}} to Talk:Beerenberg Farm, which is where that template goes. As explained in Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure#How to disclose, you should add {{paid}} with appropriate details filled out – probably {{paid|employer=Beerenberg Farm}} – on your user page.
It looks like other users have already cleaned up most of the promotional language that you added, but you should refrain from making any additional changes directly to the article. Instead, you may propose changes on Talk:Beerenberg Farm. LX (talk, contribs) 22:31, 7 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Shaunawatt (talk) Thanks four your help LX, I am trying to do the right thing but this is all new to me. I have now added the paid contributor template to my talk page. If my photographs get approved for use I will submit them as a draft edit for approval prior to publishing.

Shaunawatt (talk) I would like to add to the Innovation section of the Beerenberg Farm page a paragraph and a picture of the new factory opening something along the lines of: In June 2018 Beerenberg Farm completed a multi-million dollar project to expand and upgrade their manufacturing facility and head office. The new factory is a combination of state of the art manufacturing equipment and existing bottling lines including two DC Norris Kettle imported from the United Kingdom. The upgraded line can produce double the product volume in the same amount of time and produces a higher quality more consistent product. As an employee of the company, I am looking for permissions prior to editing the page to include this information. Thanks Shaunawatt (talk) 01:35, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Shauna. I just saw your message from a couple of months ago here. You need to either put it on the talk page for the article (talk:Beerenberg Farm) or use {{ping}} to alert the person you want to read a message you put here. Your draft text contains too many WP:Puffery adjectives, and no reference. Did the Courier do an article about the upgrade that could be cited, or some sort of fruit industry magazine? If DC Norris Kettle is important, is there a wikilink about them (I've never heard of it) or can you write an article about them or expand Fruit preserves without it sounding promotional? The actual information in your paragraph boils down to: "In June 2018 Beerenberg Farm completed an upgrade to its manufacturing facility and head office. The expanded factory includes two new kettles imported from the United Kingdom. It doubled the production capacity with better quality control." Some details of the size or speed of the new kettles could be interesting. The article doesn't seem to have much about the old/previous production facilities either. --Scott Davis Talk 13:43, 16 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

{{ping}} Scott Davis, thanks I will change as you suggested and draft the submission on the Beerenberg Talk Page.

Done - but you actually need {{ping|ScottDavis}} so the system knows who to ping. --Scott Davis Talk 04:48, 17 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
