License tagging for Image:Newpg-audio-sakhiya91.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Newpg-audio-sakhiya91.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:07, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Trisha 001.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Trisha 001.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so please also include the source of the image; in most cases the website where you found it.

Please signify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Tim1988 talk 13:24, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Newpg-audio-sakhiya91.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Newpg-audio-sakhiya91.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Tim1988 talk 13:27, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images

Hello S3000. Please do not upload any additional images until you have thoroughly reviewed the following pages.

All images must specify their copyright holder and copyright status. Do not use {{PD-self}} on photographs that you have not created and do not own the copyrights to. Please also remember that Wikipedia is a free content project and only accepts restrictively copyrighted material in a few very specific cases. Take special note of fair use criterion #1, which does not us to use unfree images of living, active actors such as Image:Shriya001.jpg and Image:Trisha1.jpg. If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. ×Meegs 06:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

We can not use Image:Trishau-500.jpg as a portrait of Trisha either under criterion #1 either. We need to acquire a free content image of her, and the presence of unfree images will only lessen the likelihood of this happening. Also, film screenshots may only be used under fair use if they are an integral part of critical commentary about the film itself; usually this is only found in the film's article and not the actor's. Do not upload any additional copyrighted images until you have read and understood all of the links from my previous messages. ×Meegs 07:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Shriya01.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Shriya01.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 20:35, 9 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Appan Panna 1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Appan Panna 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:10, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Done

I don't find the point in your message. Firstly, thank you for informing me. Secondly, I already reverted my own edits. Thank you, --ShahidTalk2me 13:23, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks my friend:) Have a nice day! --ShahidTalk2me 13:36, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
If this note helps the page and actually reduces the removal of this statement, so I strongly support to leave the note there. Just to note, I think that this note has to be changed, to convince the editors more. It's necessary to write that this issue was already discussed. Referring people to the talk page does not make sense, since no one really has the lust to visit the article talk page. Thanks and Best Regards, --ShahidTalk2me 20:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
This is my new note (I didn't change, just added):
  • DO NOT SIMPLY DELETE OR MODIFY THIS STATEMENT. REFER CAREFULLY TO THE CITATION PROVIDED OR GO TO THE DISCUSSIONS PAGE - THERE IS A TOPIC ON THIS. IT WAS ALREADY DISCUSSED AND ACCEPTED. IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS, DISCUSS IT FIRSTLY THERE.
Best regards, and have a great day:), --ShahidTalk2me 20:07, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
