Machine translations edit
Please do not create articles like History of science and technology in Spain unless you are able to tidy and improve the translation yourself. Machine translations can be very difficult to tidy up, and the articles you are creating are so massive that nobody will ever want to attempt to do so. WP:TRANSLATION has the correct procedure for creating articles when you are not able to translate yourself--Jac16888 Talk 23:23, 1 November 2015 (UTC)
- I'd like to second what Jac16888 said. I just spent 45 minutes cleaning up all the mess Content Transcrapulator left behind on History of railroads in Bolivia. The majority of references were not translated and what was translated was badly mangled.
- What's worse, I didn't see that there already was an article on the same subject until after I spent my time... Rail transport in Bolivia. There is also an article, Science and technology in Spain, that was already created and duplicates some of History of science and technology in Spain.
- Jac16888 I've put the newly "translated" article up for deletion as duplicates. There is stuff that could be merged, but its so badly mangled, it will take alot of work. Bgwhite (talk) 05:51, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

I'm an admin at Commons, so I may be able to help. Is "123.gif" a fully descriptive name, something that's in line with how we usually name files, as described at Commons:Commons:File naming#Naming? If so, upload it at whatever random name you want, and then leave a note at my Commons talk page; I'll move the file to 123.gif, since I'm able to override the blacklist. However, it would help if you'd describe the file itself before doing this, since it will be easier if I can tell you (before the upload) whether I agree or disagree with your idea of calling it 123.gif. Question about restoring article from a redirect edit
I see that you restored Burgundian language (Germanic) to an article rather than a redirect, in your edit summary saying "some articles are shorted than this article". However, it is not simply a question of whether the length of the article is greater than that of some other articles: it is a matter of whether there is enough information specific to this language which cannot conveniently be included in the main article. Can you explain why you think repeating substantially the same content in two different places is an improvement? Repetition of content in different places has several disadvantages, such as making it difficult to ensure that corrections, updates, etc, are applied in both places, and if differences develop between the two versions readers are likely to fail to find both versions, and therefore may well miss some of the content. If, however, the content is all in one place, with a redirect from the other, no such difficulties arise: anyone looking for information in either place will find their way to the one place where there is information on the subject. Can you suggest any reason why the redirect should not be restored? In addition, the content which you restored is unsourced, and one of the statements which you restored has even been tagged for citation since September 2011. When unsourced content has been challenged and removed, it is considered bad practice to restore it without providing a source. That principle is mentioned in several places, including in the policy on verifiability of content, which says "Attribute ... any material challenged or likely to be challenged to a reliable, published source ... The cited source must clearly support the material as presented in the article." The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:10, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
Help needed at DRN edit

DRN help needed and volunteer roll call edit

First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.
