Anthony Gallo edit

Hey Punkinfo! In regards to your removal of the trivia section... Assuming you have a reference for Gallo's daughter and grandfather, I see no problem with bringing that info back into the article somewhere. Perhaps a small section called "personal life" would help ease the task. Your article looks very good BTW. I've added it to both List of rhythm guitarists and List of lead guitarists. Welcome to Wikipedia, regards, and happy editing! :)  -- WikHead (talk) 02:06, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

August 2011 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Template:Uncat, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Jon Nelson (guitarist) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jon Nelson (guitarist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Spidey665 22:44, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

October 2011 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Suicidal Tendencies. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thanks edit

I just wanted to say thanks for your work on the skateboarding/music info from the early 80s. At the time, I was flying to LA at least once a month (I flew for free back then) and hanging out with the skateboarders. But, since I didn't live in LA, I never got in very tight with anyone. My problem has been a combination of poor memory and inability to locate good resources to support the information (I especially had trouble with the Nude Bowl article). Hopefully you will continue having much better luck than I have. -- kainaw 14:57, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

RE: BulleyBoys edit

The reason I asked for the source is because there has been a lot of content added and/or removed without explanation or without a source from the BulletBoys article. I do find it interesting, so if it is mentioned on the album sleeve (I don't own that particular album) then that can be cited. However, this Screemer Magazine article you speak of would be more useful. Can you provide a scan of it and/or provide the articles info (e.g. Interviewer/author, article title, date of publication, the specific paragraph where it is mentioned). Once I have that, I will re-add the information and source it correctly (unless you already know how to). Thanks for contacting me! HrZ (talk) 12:50, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I have re-added the info and cited the album booklet. If the Screemer article is eventually archived and posted online, if it's not too much trouble, could you inform me? I'm assuming the article would have other information on the band and could be useful for further expanding the article. As for Torien potentially removing the content, it really wouldn't surprise me if that were true. Drummer Jimmy D'Anda removed content earlier in the year and didn't appreciate me asking for an explanation or sources for what he was adding and removing. And Chris Weber intrigues me, a founding member of Hollywood Rose, that would at various points feature futures members of the original and Appetite era Guns N' Roses, and would have success in his own right over a decade later with post-grunge band U.P.O. before, again, disappearing (as far as sources for what he is doing goes). HrZ (talk) 14:07, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

RE: Bob Heathcote edit

Here is the link to the page of Bob Heathcote that redirects to List of Suicidal Tendencies band members. From that page, you simply click edit and remove the redirect and add his info. Before you edit this page though, and I say this because I am not familiar with the musician (I'm assuming you are), you should check to see if he pass Wikipedia's notability guidelines at WP:GNG and WP:NMUSIC. If he does then edit away. However, if he fails to meet the criteria, it may be redirected to the band members article again by another editor in future. For help with citing, see WP:CITE and WP:CITET, and for what passes for a reliable source, see WP:RS. Happy editing sir! HrZ (talk) 10:00, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Punkinfo, my advice would be to find (a) reliable source(s) (e.g. with a reputation for fact checking, such as a newspaper, magazine or book) that verifies Biuso's membership of the bands you have listed. If the proof can be found, he will probably meet Wikipedia's notability requirements for musicians, by being a member of more than one notable band. Otherwise see Wikipedia's 'golden rule', which would need to be followed. Hope that helps a bit! Sionk (talk) 23:00, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

These are the basic requirements of Wikipedia. Subjects need to be notable and facts need to be verifiable. I'm surprised you are unaware of them, considering you've been editing here (and creating articles) for many months. Poorly sourced articles are likely to be proposed for deletion. The AfC process is to make sure articles have a decent chance of surviving in main space.
It also helps if you sign your comments. If you have any further questions about your article, please put them here, on your Talk page. Sionk (talk) 16:36, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dear Sionk, im sorry i thought that all the sourced material i included was sufficient, what other sources are needed? there's his name mentioned on their pages, which was your initial erroneous reason for decline, he is listed in a sourced book, he's listed in the sourced Modern Drummer magazines i sourced and listed, he's listed as drummer on the C.D's for the notable bands ive listed. What more is required? every thing you are asking of me to provide is there. Please explain what more is needed. What aren't you seeing in this Article? with respect Punkinfo

My comment on your draft article was confusing, sorry. My first action was to look on the Wikipedia articles about the bands, but even if he is/was listed on another Wikipedia article, his own article needs independent, reliable sources cited. I appreciate Biuso was active pre-internet, so online sources are more difficult to locate. But some indication he's been talked about in music magazines (or general publications) is a useful clue to how well known he is (or was). Sionk (talk) 23:30, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok Sionk I'll try and find some more reff's for Tiny Bubz, are the ones I've already listed not considered reliable, ie (Modern Drummer Magazine, the book Sticks N' Skins, etc..? any help would be apreciated. Thank You Punkinfo (talk )6:40, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Anthony "Tiny:" Biuso edit

Hi Punkinfo,
I must apologize for taking so long. I have been rather busy, you could have dropped me another note, to remind me, what would be no problem. I see Sionk has provided some advice. I'm afraid it still applies to the new added references. I don't find in-depth discussion of your subject that is independent and reliable. Just because you subject does not control a website does not make it independent. Endorsement proves a definite relationship, and of course any blogs or forums (no matter how professional looking) are not considered reliable. I hope you have read WP:NMUSIC. If you can show me some other criteria that your subject has met, we can approve you article. Sorry, but keep looking and good luck. -- :- ) Don 14:53, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks :- ) Don I really appreciate the massage. I guess I'll have to just wait till something else comes on the Internet. I figured just his name on the bands C.D.'s would be enough proof of his notability. Only I don't know how to us the C.D.'s as references. Thanks any how, I guess I'll try again at a later point. Punkinfo (talk) 05:51, 31 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey there, just dropping in. This is about T.S.O.L.'s current drummer, right? I've been working on articles about T.S.O.L.'s albums in my userspace (I started with the first EP and I'm up to Disappear) and I'd like to find out more about him, specifically his involvement with T.S.O.L. I'm not even sure how to spell his name; it's spelled differently between a couple of the albums' liner notes. Anyway, to cite CD liner notes as references you can use Template:Cite album-notes. Hope that helps. And hey, I notice you're using a photo I took in User:Punkinfo/Sin 34...rad! --IllaZilla (talk) 19:58, 23 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

You created it in the mainspace, you do not need to go to AFC to make articles. Instead of making it in your sandbox you put it on the mainspace, that's all. I just moved it with the tab and noted your request. Such mistakes happen. If they do, just move it where you want or ask someone like me. I am not an admin, but all users can move such pages except the green-lock ones. Just have to do so positively and not in any controversial way. When the article is ready for submission how do I effect that? Punkinfo (talk) 05:37, 20 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Slap the AFC tag on it or submit the text to the article wizard as 'advanced' to bypass half the junk. Copy and paste the wiki markup in. Its at WP:AFC. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 05:40, 20 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Cold Shot edit

Hello, Punkinfo. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Cold Shot, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page

  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Anastasia Bykova (talk) 02:20, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
