August 2007 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Why vandalism?. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Moonriddengirl 00:06, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself, as you did with Why vandalism?. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Mysdaao talk 00:25, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Why Vandalism edit

A tag has been placed on Why Vandalism, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Realkyhick 02:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your complaints with this site edit

I have read your comments on your user page as well as on User talk:Xoloz, in which you object to the deletion of some pages while other less notable pages are kept.

If a topic has an article, it does not automatically mean said topic is notable. Administrators are not obliged to ferret out all pages of equally bad quality when they delete an article. You can nominate them for deletion yourself, keeping in mind our policies regarding deletion.

September 2023 edit

  Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Talk:Yars' Revenge that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 05:13, 5 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Yars' Revenge. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Waxworker (talk) 07:38, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
