I actually really take offense to stupid accusations like that. First of all, there is no denying Madonna as a huge power star, and her influence in pop culture. It's not a question of Done or No

I transferred the following part of your discussion posted within Ozzy Ozbourne's section onto here because I feel it needs to be discussed separately. Beside, listen harout. You don't have to put some anger when i ask you if i have found some new sales figures of those artist in this list which looks like so inflated. Just answer NO or DONE. You could analyze my question, i've been saying this over and over again. I put my respect on you that's why i will asking you about the contain in this list. I hope you will understand on that. (beside, I've been success to update the figures of Eminem, Garth Brooks, Eagles, and others in this list)

It is actually a little bit upsetting when you come back and ask the same question over and over again the answers to which I have given to you numerous times. And when you do that, my answer can't be a simple No, because by asking me repeatedly if we should update sales claims with further inflated figures when you and I have already come to an agreement, it's as if you never read what I took my time to wright for you. And this has nothing to do whether you have come up with those sources that there was need for. Don't delete any of the discussions whether you were involved in them or not. All discussions do get automatically archived at Talk:List of best-selling music artists in 10 days. In this edit, you're asking me about The Ventures again. If you had not deleted my reply to you about The Ventures previously in October 2012, you could have simply searched for our old discussion about The Ventures by simply entering The Ventures in the Search Archives at the top of Talk:List of best-selling music artists, and the search database would bring up all discussions about The Ventures, but now it doesn't because you've deleted it. When you are adding one source that says 100 million Records, you don't add another source that says 100 million Albums. We should use the sources that claim Albums ONLY if the said sales figure is available with the term Albums. It's in the lead of the list. You haven't seen it? That sources speaks of albums only. I don't think we'll prove that ABBA's overall sales is 100 million by adding that source because what difference does it make between the 200 million records which is for albums, singles, videos and the 100 million albums? 100 million albums is not the closest to the available certified sales, 100 million records (albums, singles, videos) would be closest. The Billboard source that claims 100 million is only speaking of albums, it leaves out ABBA's singles and videos. We already have sources for ABBA which claim 200 million records, that includes singles, albums, videos. Yes, The Sydney Morning Herald is ok to put up there next to the 200 million records. But I still can't remove the 200 million claims unless we have newer and multiple sources that claim 100 million records, this one is from 2010. The other source is not so good, avoid using that. Put it up there next the 200 million records, if it gets removed by that the same user, I will personally revert his edit. This one by Mail Online claims 250 million records in the beginning and then 250 million album in the middle of the content. That is useless for that very reason. The article by Santa Ynes Valley News is not one of highly reliable news agencies. For now, I think, we are ok with our current sources even though they're from 2007. Jakarta Globe seems to be a relatively new Newspaper. But Reuters is a very old and very reliable news service. I think we should leave Reuters in place for now. If you update data on a page, you need to use a reliable source! You can't use someone's Deviant Art page. Deviant Art users make no claim on being experts or authorities on Japanese music sales. But the point is, until now there's no reliable source who claim that new sales for Hamasaki (80m-more), and she's still stuck with 53m-sales. Which is completely wrong!, and I use the source from Devian Art just to try encourage the media to find out more for Hamasaki's sales. Best Selling artists of all time

I am a statician Who Specialises in the music industry. There is an error on the page best selling arists of all time. You have said that the well known singer Rihanna has sold over 200 million records. You have also said that beyonce has sold 75 million albums. The issue with this is that for most singers on the list (like Beyoncé) you have put the number of hard copies of records sold (actually bought from a shop). For Rihanna you have added her digital records to it as well! As a statition, I can confirm to you the fact that Rihanna (my source is my own calculations as well as roc nation.com. She has in fact only sold 50 million hard copies worldwide and should therefore be removed from the list. The figure for beyonce (78 million) was correct back in 2011, however she has now sold 118 million as a solo artist. She has also sold 60 million records with destiny's child. In the world of statistics, the 60 million would be added on to her total as she was the lead singer of the group. Beyonce has therefore sold a total of 178 million hard records and Rihanna 50 million hard records. The error here was that digital albums and hard copies were mixed on rihannas figure and beyonce's figure was both outdated and incorrect. i just wanted to ask you (or one of your colleagues) to change this. If you give me access to edit this page, I will make sure that all the figures have been measured using the same criteria and are up to date. Thank you. It is not about it being mandatory, it is about being informative. A short summary like "changing Shania Twain's image to a clearer one" will make editors understand why you changed it and accept it. I can't find anything that I'd consider absolutely official - no worldwide charts, no hard numbers in Billboard or MBI, etc -- but the daily paper in La Crosse, Michigan (the La Crosse Tribune) is less reliable than The Daily Telegraph. I don't know if you've already seen it but just wanted to let you know that both accounts User:DCGeist and User:DocKino were being run by the same person. Both accounts are now blocked indefinitely for Sock puppetry. I opened up an investigation, and surely enough they turned out to be the same person, pretending to be two different persons. I would revert the 1 billion sources, but I have already reverted three times in the same 24 hour. You can go ahead and revert it if you want. Chris Brown

Eight months apart of the other source, this source is now used to support the 100 million records. Now, the source says "nearly 100". How is that my opinion? I think this is more about showing a misleading statement so other minor websites can copy and validate it, rather than staying truthful to a reliable source. Same happens with Ed Sheeran 126 million records, using a tabloid, because you thought the singles were already over 100 million. This may be crossing the line already.. Record Sales

@Politsi: You commented "100m sales is inflated. They only have 28m in certified sales." when you edited the Depeche Mode page. You changed "100 million" to "75 million". If 28m is certified, then wouldn't the correct statement be "they have sold more than 28 million records worldwide"? Anything else seems like a guess. How is 100m or 75m figured from 28m? I am not an editor, so would appreciate it if can you please amend your edit (and edits from others) relating to ABBA sales figure on the ABBA page. The link you added from Sydney Herald states 150m sales for their 8 Studio Albums. It does not state all global albums. The previous edit by another Editor (decreasing to 150 million) states this was due to reference to "List of Best Selling Artists". They cannot use wiki as the source, only the sources from external references. Ha, ha, well, looking at List of best-selling albums as a fallback source to your edits at HC is a bit silly, when you are the editor who added the same 42 million claim with the same source at that page, too. But it's all okay, now. My problem was that following your citation to https://www.tuscaloosanews.com/news/20181027/black-jacket-symphony-to-re-create-eagles-hotel-california sent me to https://eu.tuscaloosanews.com/, presumably because the Tuscaloosa News is one of those companies who are afraid Europeans will steal their content, or something. What I get is a dull, standard entry page with about 20 story teasers (and nothing about the Eagles or Black Jacket).
