Your recent edits edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 16:45, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia edit

Sometimes it can be frustrating navigating this project. Please dont give up when you reach this point. If you need any help in the future working with the system or need help understanding anything please drop me a line and I will be glad to help you. Remeber that pretty much nothing that is done on here is irreversable so it is nothing to get frustrated over (because most times it can be fixed with the clicks of the right buttons). I hope you continue to edit here and dont get too frustrated by anybody who may want to enjoy gnawing away at you(admittedly myself included). Apologies if I added to your frustration, but I hope you can understand our point of view too. Many, many articles are added every day that are just spam. Without proper references or evidence of notability, we editors who patrol for spam cannot distinguish what's legit from what's advertising. Sometimes good-faith editors get steamrolled in the process as we attempt to keep wikipedia a quality encyclopedia. Hope we haven't irrecoverably put you off the project. justinfr (talk) 20:36, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thanks to both of you. I will have my references ready before I create any new entries in future. Pokey2009 (talk) 23:33, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Economics census edit

Hello there. Sorry to bother you, but you are (titularly at least) a member of WP:WikiProject Economics, as defined by this category. If you don't know me, I'm a Wikipedia administrator, but an unqualified economist. I enjoy writing about economics, but I'm not very good at it, which is why I would like to support in any way I can the strong body of economists here on Wikipedia. I'm only bothering you because you are probably one of them. Together, I'd like us to establish the future direction of WikiProject Economics, but first, we need to know who we've got to help.

Whatever your area of expertise or level of qualification, if you're interested in helping with the WikiProject (even if only as part of a larger commitment to this wonderful online encyclopedia of ours), would you mind adding your signature to this page? It only takes a second. Thank you.

Survey edit

Hi Pokey2009!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! New 10,000 Challenge for Canada edit

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
