George Hyde Pownall

You create the article on George Hyde Pownall who lived 1866 – 24 January 1939. There's a Wikidata item of a person with the same name who lived from 1876-1932 which is also linked to authority references like viaf. Do you know whether those are two different people? They are the same person. Those other dates have been shown to be incorrect by new research that is in the current version of the article from La Trobe Journal. Philafrenzy (talk) 16:08, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Yes I am very interested in book series, thank you for doing this. If you write the articles the best commentary on the series tends to be in the reviews of the individual volumes in academic journals.

I don't think we should be doing the authors; others may do but I won't waste any time on it. Randykitty (see my talk page) has objections to just creating a soup of red links and what he says is indeed true. Not all the series published by CUP is notable, what I would like is that Wikipedia has an article on every topic for which CUP has launched a series. I agree not all the series are notable, but I suspect it is more than you may think, particularly for CUP. As for the red links, if they were all red-linked how many would have articles in 1/5/10 year's time compared to none being red-linked? We will never know. There's this. I don't have access to JSTOR or any other resource at this moment to demonstrate their notability. So if you wish you can proceed as you do before and then we can delink after the task is completed. It is far too much work for me alone to do this. The best way to judge notability seems case by case creating few and delinking few for every topic, say anthropology. I also don't have full JSTOR. I can tell you from experience that book series are difficult subjects to research (Seminar Studies in History took a long time) because the detailed discussion of them as a series that is needed to show their notability separately from the authors and individual volumes, tends to be buried in reviews of new volumes in academic journals meaning you have to consult a lot of sources to compile the article. See for example Sebastian Coe, who made his name as an athlete but later went into politics. Here, we have

which is one infobox inside another - {{Infobox sportsperson}} inside {{Infobox politician}}. For David Owen, you can do the same sort of thing, provided that all three of these are true:

1. the {{infobox officeholder}} template supports the |module= parameter
2. the infobox that you wish to embed supports the |embed=yes parameter or an equivalent
3. There is consensus for this at Talk:David Owen.

Of these, 1 is definitely true; and assuming that you wish to use {{infobox medical person}}, 2 is sort-of true - you need to use |child=yes instead of |embed=yes; but 3 is not true (there are no discussions about infoboxes there), so I would start a discussion there before adding an embedded infobox. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 12:39, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Good word "Nabob". Very clickable. Nobody is notable just for being in a painting, but that fact and a few lines about their participation certainly helps to support the existence of an article.
