Hi there, Unfortunatly, I can't read Japanese (...yet). I copied the Japanese name from the Anime News Network site, that's how I got it (the other info as well). But if I come across any Outlaw Star air dates, I'll know where to put them :). Ninja neko 11:44, 3 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Scrapped Princess s01e05.png edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Scrapped Princess s01e05.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ResurgamII 22:51, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Whoa edit

I've been watching WT:NOT#Plot summaries part 3 for a while, and when I saw your name appear there I went, "...The heck? Didn't I have a TA named that?" Your user page confirms this, which is startling. I have no idea which class it was, or whether we actually met, but apparently I remembered your name! I don't know what this says about me; "mind like a lint trap" or "LOTR junkie" or something else. Anyway, hi! Thought I'd fill you in on the spooky coincidence. --Masamage 08:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Awesome; that was my suspicion. Anyway, it's fun to see someone else I've even heard of (met? talked to? had an assignment grade by?) on here. I'm fairly certain that's the first time that's happened to me. --Masamage 09:09, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yup, I'm a CS major at OSU--I took 161 Winter term of '05. Actually, since you're working on a doctorate, it's possible that you know my brother Ben, who's working on his own in artificial intelligence. Also, that bit about Oregon is rather a relief to hear, because most of the people I talk to about Wikipedia either haven't heard of it or hate it. Possibly I need to get out more. :) --Masamage 09:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Outlaw Star edit

Okay go ahead and write a couple more episodes summaries if you want and I'll proof read them afterwards and make any appropriate changes and also it would be easier for me if you don't forget to add the spoiler tag to the Plot Summary section.

On a personal note Outlaw Star was the first anime that I bought and I seen the episodes so many times I know all the key plot points by memory including the episode that was not shown on Cartoon Network. But since I prefer to stick with small edits most of the time if you don't have time to write all 9 of those episodes then I will see if I can make time to write them. -Adv193 04:00, 27 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Cbs-shark.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cbs-shark.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Oden 23:18, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Vlcsnap-954932.png edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Vlcsnap-954932.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Smallville edit

I don't know if you are just trying to be disruptive or what, but there is no reason to have an episode page. The ENTIRE Season 1 page doesn't even hit the 30kb size, why would you create a page for an episode of that season? Quotes belong on Wikiquote, Most trivia is unencyclopedic, and the Cynthia thing is already mentioned on two pages. The only difference between an episode page and an episode on the season 1 page is an infobox and an expanded plot, which we already know that Wikipedia is not a substitution for watching the episode. Why don't you try helping out on the Seasonal pages by finding "out-of-universe" contant and expanding those, instead of being disruptive. Bignole 15:41, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Smallville edit

No, two of them were not on the show (You had two Lanas and Two Lexs listed, one for each them were not on the show, that must be an error on that website you cited). One of them we don't need to list because they didn't provide anything to the show but as a "stand-in" (i.e. fencer), One wasn't even in the episode, as you said it was a deleted scene, so we didn't see them. Other than that, I just got rid of the list format so that we could incorporate their names in the plot. If I didn't like what you added I would have simply removed it, but I didn't; I did what every editor does to Wikipedia pages, they try and improve them. Bignole 00:17, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I did remove them, and left summary edits when I did. One of the Lex actors was said to be the guy who played Tom Cruise's son in War of the Worlds. The Lana actress was said to be that girl from School of Rock that couldn't sing, but instead became the manager of the band. I just don't like that "vertical" listing because it takes up too much space for something so small. Once I find a better method for it, I plan on doing the same for the music. I think I'm just going to have a summary music section for each season, because listing the songs of each episode isn't really that encyclopedic, but Smallville's use of these pop culture songs is notable. Bignole 01:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's per the MOS for linking. See User talk:MatthewFenton#Smallville for all the links that I just gave him. Bignole 22:26, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Continued attempts to circumvent the consensus of the vote that not only kept your "List" page, but also preserved the "Season" page (as the Season page is an acceptable practice per WikiProject for Television articles, because it isn't a list it doens't follow the List requirements), I will be forced to report you to an Admin for being disruptive and circumventing a vote. Oh, and votes that were carried out on "LOST" do not carry over to other pages. That was a decision by those editors for that article, or those reasons. Smallville had it's own vote, remember, you were there, and you cannot use a separate vote on another article to get your way. Bignole 19:29, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pardon my delay in this response. I got your initial comment right before I left my computer earlier. Honestly, when I compare Hothead (Smallville episode) and Smallville (Season 1)#Hothead, I don't see much significant difference. Seeing that the episode content fits under the Season 1 article with the content of the other episodes, I don't see a strong need to break off the page's episodes into their own articles. Like Bignole said on the season article's talk page, how much more content can be retrieved about a "typical" episode to warrant its own article, as opposed to the pilot or a milestone episode? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 00:43, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I understand what you're trying to do, but it seems that the IMDb and Smallville.Wikia.com are adequate links for further exploration of these episodes. The links' placement in the External links at the end are sufficient — are there really any valid Wikipedia articles that attach an external link to each section of its content? Since the rest of Wikipedia is structured to have further information at the end of each article, I think visitors should be able to find their way to further information on their own without the need to sprinkle external links throughout the article. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 01:15, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've actualy have seen this style of vandal before... It makes you think twice about reverting because some of it is true, some of it isn't. So instead of quick revert, you have to sit there and rethink the page. I'm not saying he is using this style on purpose or its his intention, but I'm saying its arkward at the very least.
