User:Optsols/Château Bauduc edit

I've moved this article out of the encyclopedia and into your personal space for the time being. It's fine to write articles about châteaux, but please refrain from advertising and make sure you rewrite it from a neutral point of view so that it's appropriate for an encyclopedia. When you think its suitable for the encyclopedia, place a {{helpme|} tag on your talk page and someone will review it before moving it back into the encyclopedia. Do not recreate this article in the main encyclopedia for the time being or you may face disciplinary action. Below are some useful reading material to help you with writing a good article. Thanks. --  Netsnipe  ►  11:34, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Netsnipe - the "Please click here to leave me a new message." is protected so no message can be left. I will alter the entry and please take a look. The reference in Stinking Bishop cheese is causing a great deal of confusion as it is a direct reference to a wine no a a drummer Ray Bauduc.

If a chateau makes wine how do I avoid your thought police thinking this is advertising it is just a fact? I am new to this so any guidance would be helpful. Especially how to address this confusion over Ray Bauduc being good with cheese. Optsols

My talk page is unprotected now. It was being abused yesterday. Hmmm...I noticed that your "article" is a word for word copy from [1]. The problem is that what you're writing is a tourism promotion written from a first person perspective (e.g. "we"), not an encyclopedia article, so I'm not so sure what you can do now. The thing is, everything in your article has be verifiable through 3rd party sources and also at the same time from a neutral point of view. --  Netsnipe  ►  12:14, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

OK Netsnipe I am working with you here. I did a telephone interview wth the winemakers wife who verifed the wine mentiond in the Stinking Bishop entry was the Chateau Bauduc blanc sec. Interestingly she mentioned an article in the UK observer newspaper reporting the wine had been chosen 5 years running in a UK restaurant is this a verifiable 3rd party reference. Is the chateau bauduc entry now acceptable? I appreciate any help or assistance as there seem to be a lot or hoops to jump through! Chris @ Optima 15:40, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

This page looks good in terms of NPOV. It doesn't exactly conform to the style of a Wikipedia article, but that's something that can be worked on (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style). I've moved it to Château Bauduc. Thanks for your contributions. Keep working on improving Wikipedia. —PurpleRAIN 15:55, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi Netsnipe.

Is the chateau bauduc entry now acceptable? I appreciate any help or assistance as there seem to be a lot or hoops to jump through!

Also added another Bauduc entry Felice Cerruti Bauduc this was deleted but I have recreated it. Can you confirm if this is infringing some guideline?

Chris Chris @ Optima 15:56, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Château Bauduc is an acceptable start for a new article on Wikipedia and another editor has moved it back into the encyclopedia. It will need some polishing though since it reads a bit disjointedly and it needs some tidying up in the layout, but I can take care of that for you later (going to bed now). As for Felice Cerruti Bauduc, take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (people). That'll help you along the way, but it seems like most of the references online about him are in Italian rather than English so it might be a bit difficult to write a proper article without getting some sources translated. By the way, you don't need to include links to other Bauduc's in your articles. Just create a disambiguation page at Bauduc instead. Thanks for heeding my advice and again. welcome to Wikipedia. --  Netsnipe  ►  16:07, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

It has been suggested a disambiguation page is needed but there is no obvious way to create one. Template to be used looks likely to be

.

Hi, I created a disambiguation page at Bauduc that might suit what you needed. Don't hesitate to edit it to make it suit you, I did that really quickly. Happy Editing! -- lucasbfr talk 06:44, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please use the preview button edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In the future, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. —PurpleRAIN 16:13, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Thanks that was quick edit

You can create a new article with the alternative title and put the code #REDIRECT [[Château Bauduc]] (you can use the #R button on the toolbar) in it. don't add anything else and normally the page should point to the Château Bauduc article. But you should only do that if you think someone will type that exact sentence into the searchbox. I don't think it is needed here to be honest :). To answer your question the search cache might need some time to be updated. Hope that helps! -- lucasbfr talk 06:57, 13 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bauduc, Chateau edit

A tag has been placed on Bauduc, Chateau, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.

If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
