edits edit

Hi~! This is Kavi, btw. Sorry if I was a bit heavy-handed with your article; I just thought you might want to take the following into consideration: -Detailed plot info is generally not appropriate for a character page, unless it specifically applies to the character (what I wrote was a bit skeletal, what you wrote was a bit detailed - a happy medium might be nice). Stylistically, it's generally best to make sure the Character pages overlap as little as possible. A lot of what you had (though very descriptive in it s own right) was so general it looked like it might be more appropriate for a Noir plot synopsis than a character page. -Try to avoid phrases which show your personal opinion of a certain scene. Even if you're right, it's very hard to source an opinion! -Keep the spelling accurate (there are some very nice plug-in dictionaries nowadays that take most of the work out of this). -Try not to dwell too much on a single episode - admittedly, Noir peppers one with a lot of dramatic moments in the final trio, but describing them line for line is useless to someone who has seen the series and unwanted by someone who hasn't. -The same goes for unessential details about former episodes. -Make sure the sources are accurate and current - the page with Kirika's blood type, for instance, which was removed partially because I complained about it, lol

Anyway, take everything I did with a grain of salt, and feel free to discard what you don't want. I did it a bit hurriedly in the middle of the night and, as you can see, I don't use wiki often :) That being said, I'd be happy to plug in sources for anything you write - I'm fairly well acquainted with the Noir online network, and intimately with the series itself. I'm also an experienced writer (both amateur and professional) and have been writing articles on anime for almost a decade now.

Nice to see someone else spreading the Noir gospel! Keep up the good work! Edofmund (talk) 14:07, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Marimite characters edit

Please do not attempt to split information from the List of Maria-sama ga Miteru characters article into separate articles. This is not to be done, per WP:FICT, unless secondary sources and outside information plus sourced analysis for these characters have already been obtained. If you want to add more character information, please simply add it to List of Maria-sama ga Miteru characters under the appropriate character section.- 02:35, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

You may wish to look at, or participate in Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_(anime-_and_manga-related_articles)#Start_of_drafting_character_guideline. -Malkinann 22:36, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Maybe I have to reiterate myself. What you are doing — trying to split off characters from Maria-sama ga Miteru into separate articles — is not acceptable by the policy set out at WP:FICT due to a complete lack of outside information, or secondary sources. Maybe you are not aware about how Wikipedia works, but this is one of the guidelines that users have to abide by, along with going by WP:N and what Wikipedia is not, such as, and I quote:
Wikipedia articles on published works (such as fictional stories) should cover their real-world context and sourced analysis, offering detail on a work's development, impact or historical significance, not solely a detailed summary of that work's plot. This applies both to stand-alone works, and also to series. A brief plot summary may sometimes be appropriate as an aspect of a larger topic. - WP:NOT#PLOT
You are just simply adding in plot summary to these character articles, and that does not help the project except for creating articles that violate policy and are harder to keep track of. So please, stop trying to create separate character articles unless you have secondary sources and sourced analysis and all those things that you need before creating such articles. If you keep trying to create these articles, they will keep on getting redirected to List of Maria-sama ga Miteru characters. If you would like to add information there, by all means do it, but keep it on that article, please.-- 06:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Kanakohosokawa.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kanakohosokawa.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. R.O.D edit

Hey, thanks for your additions to R.O.D-related articles. I didn't notice your creation of articles on the three Paper Sisters, but don't forget to fix all the links. One thing I really hate, though, is when people end up making pages with so many broken links, assuming that there is an article there without checking. Watch out for those when you're placing links to seiyu bios, as red links just make an article look plaing messy. Anyways, thanks for making up those articles too. ætərnal ðrAعon 10:16, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Helps edit

Hello, i'm OgasawaraSachiko, but i'm currently not log in now. You seem to know a lot about Wikipedia gallery, could you help me? As you can see, the galleries of Mireille Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura i added have been removed, and i hate when people do that. I just don't understand why some articles' galleries like the Nautilus (Verne) or Eiffel Tower are still on their pages, but mine are not. Can you tell the differences between those?

In don't know much about WP:NFCC, can you explain it more clearly and how can keep those images before delleting. If the situation is to hard for me to overcome, can you teach how to do that for once? Please, i need to know!

Postscript: Sorry if i cause you any trouble, but to be honest, i like my articles the ways they used to be. OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 11:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The images on anime pages are not free (they are still copyrighted to their creator), whereas the ones on the Nautilus page are not copyrighted, as it has been over 100 years since the artist died (in most cases). The ones on the Eiffel Tower page are of pictures of a 3D object, so it's slightly more complicated, as can be seen here. Part of WP:NFCC is not using multiple images where one will serve the purpose, so two images of Mirielle as a child is not proper, as we only need one image of her as a child to say 'this is what she looked like as a child' - and the image I kept on her page also had Claude in it, so it was dual-purposing as the only picture of him. The fair use rationale 'used as the main visual representation' only works when it is the infobox picture, or the only picture of the character available on Wikipedia. You'll have to think up other reasons, like 'this image is directly discussed in the text' (as the picture of the couples is used on Sailor Moon musicals) - look at other images in articles with multiple pictures to see their rationales for ideas, or ask at WT:ANIME for ideas on possible fair use rationales. Hope this helps. -Malkinann (talk) 21:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, so that means i can't make gallery. Well, i guest that how things go on Wikipedia. Anyway, can i keep Image:Mireille and Kirika fight.jpg 'cause i don't think that Kirika page need one since she has her own True Noir pic. Thanks four you help. OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 10:58, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, galleries are generally a bad idea as far as fair use images are concerned. Even if a gallery is broken up throughout the article, the images can be deleted if they don't have good reasons why they should be there (decoration doesn't count). Why do you feel Wikipedia needs to keep Image:Mireille and Kirika fight.jpg? How does it make the articles it's in better? -Malkinann (talk) 05:02, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please don't remove deletion notices from the images whilst we're still discussing them, or use sockpuppet accounts or IP addresses to do the same thing. It may not seem like it, but I am trying to help you keep some of the images. I've only put a couple up for deletion so you can think if all of the images are needed, if the rationales are proper in the case of each image, and work out better rationales for keeping some of the more important images.-Malkinann (talk) 05:16, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

So in the end, it's still going to be deleted, i guess that's how things go here. You asked me before why do i need to keep Image:Mireille and Kirika fight.jpg. Well then, i suppose Mireille needs to have her own fight with Kirika because in the series it was her intention to free Kirika all along, but Kirika doesn't need one since she has her own True Noir one and it was more like she wanted to kill Mireille so i think the image fits Mireille than Kirika. OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 18:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
It won't neccessarily be deleted, if you can provide a decent reason why it is useful in the article. All the fair use rationale you need is a reason, understandable to someone who hasn't seen Noir, why the picture of Kirika and Mireille fighting is essential to understanding some aspect of Mireille, or her past. I don't understand the reason you're giving - Kirika already has her own "True Noir" image, so that's why Mireille gets this one? -Malkinann (talk) 11:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've given the fight image's rationale an expansion, and withdrawn my objection to it. Please look at the other images you've uploaded, decide how important they are to help someone understand the subject of the article, and try to think up better rationales for them than 'main visual representation' or 'to upload for such-and-such an article'. You may have noticed I've been tagging some of your images with {{fair use reduce}} - per WP:NFCC, images should not be really really high quality, as it could be a copyright violation. Fair use is for critical commentary, which doesn't need really really high quality images. The general guideline is that all fair use images should have sizes of less than 400 x 400 pixels, with less than 300 x 300 preferred. Please keep this in mind when uploading images in the future. -Malkinann (talk) 23:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, i owe you one. OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 15:53, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just please, please check all of your other images' rationales and try to improve them. I'm not convinced that so many images are neccessary on Kirika and Mireille's pages (like, how is the ordinary Mireille hugely different from the other images we have of her?), and I'm also not convinced about the rationales for the images on the "Fictional setting of Madlax" article. -Malkinann (talk) 00:07, 31 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Noir edit

Good day, it's me again. About the Noir characters, how come their articles have those recetion and develoment sections, why did you add them anyway? OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 15:31, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure if you're aware of the shakeups at WP:FICT? WP:FICT is the notability guideline for fictional works, their characters, etc. A little while ago, it was changed to be much more strict, which led to things like nearly all of the Pokemon articles (barring Pikachu) being redirected into list articles. That heaps strict version of the WP:FICT guideline was challenged, and so a new draft has been created. Anyway, the new draft basically says that you should balance out information learned through the plot with real-world information, like how the character was designed, and how popular they are. Articles that don't have this real-world information are likely to be redirected back into a list at some point in the future.
If you've opened up any of those sections to edit them, you'll notice that I've commented out some instructions on what those sections should contain - those instructions come from the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (anime- and manga-related articles), which is the manual of style guideline for how anime and mangaish articles should look. Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Yamucha are probably the best examples we've got of development and reception sections in action. You may wish to look at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Reference Library or Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Magazines for anything involving Noir. Best of luck. -Malkinann (talk) 20:48, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Helps; Noir & Madlax expansion edit

Hey, thanks for the reply. Which article in Noir or Madlax do you need a template? In case you were wondering, Hitomi no Kakera is classified as a stub, and I think (correct me if I'm wrong) both that and nowhere were released as singles on the J-pop charts. PS is it true that the themes of Madlax are almost the same as those in Noir? ætərnal ðrAعon 09:25, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok then. If it's a template you're after, I can do one for Madlax but I don't know enough about Noir to do much. I'll get to a Madlax template soon, but I have to sign off now. Anyways, if you were thinking of expanding Hitomi no Kakera (that's what I thought you were talking about) you could include some sort of info on production and whatever you had for nowhere. Anyway I have to sign off now so I'll do that Madlax template some time soon. ætərnal ðrAعon 11:15, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
What do you think? I don't know enough about Noir to write an article about it.

Template creation edit

About what you ask, I learned by looking at the edits and the coding & copying until I could write them myself. In that sense, I can't show you where, but I can show you how.

I can't explain it all in one go, but I can give you a start. Did you actually create the Noir template? (You probably know this but just in case, there is a history section in every page/article (it's one of the tabs at the top) which tells you every single edit made to the page so I didn't think you created it since your username is not there - or were you using one of those anon IP adresses?) Learning about basic templtes first is best before you get into the really cool stuff. I can show you best if we work on one template step by step - pick another anime you like if you want, or something else. ætərnal ðrAعon 09:00, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay then, pick another anime (or any category for that manner) you like, then I'll make a page where I'll create the template and I can show you each step. I'll save that page under my userpage so you can come back to it if you need too. ætərnal ðrAعon 09:43, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK cool. I'll get to something on my help page, but tell me some brief important things about this series that would go on a template on my help page as I haven't seen it. BTW does the category have at least 10 pages associated with it (or 5 if there are subheadings in other pages)? ætərnal ðrAعon 10:09, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply, I don't have time now, but when I get the time I'll put it on my help page. You must enjoy Catholic-related stories (lol I'm one) saying you liked Marimite and now saying that Chrno Crusade is one ætərnal ðrAعon 10:58, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cool sure I might put the advice I gave you on my help page. I could help you make your userpage look really cool too ætərnal ðrAعon:01, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, sorry I was showing off here, but you just gotta love art! BTW better can be your opinion, so I won't get to it right now (lol it's hard tyo find breaks in school) but tell me what you like! The sample userpage on "Help" is an idea from someone else's page. Cheers, ætərnal ðrAعon 02:22, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
PS what's your favourite colour? ætərnal ðrAعon 02:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you want a better user page, start with a cool title bar! Don't think these colours work well with your greyish green though.

Don't worry, if you put it on your userpage it will stretch automatically to the length of your page template. ætərnal ðrAعon 07:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay, for a start, I would recommend creating a separate article for all those lists you've crated and removing them from the current article. You've uploaded more images in one week than I have since I created my account! ætərnal ðrAعon 23:44, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is it okay for me to do that? ætərnal ðrAعon 10:45, 4 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Konban wa, Sachiko-san! I've completed the section on userbox creation, it's in "help" under my userpage. Tell me what you think, please! ætərnal ðrAعon 10:29, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Rating your creations edit

Sure! Just one thing, due to increasing workloads (high school can be stressful can't it?) I'll only be on Wikipedia, at most, twice a week. (I'll be on more often but mostly only for short periods.) In fact, sometime we should work on getting something to FA status (I'd say an R.O.D article, since aside from Madlax (which is already an FA) I haven't seen many of your other favourites.) Thanks, ætərnal ðrAعon 06:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the appreciation! Yeah, I thought ally sounds kinda "militaria". "Friend" is good! ætərnal ðrAعon 04:55, 9 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, if you'd like me to rate your articles, which ones should I start with? You've made more articles in two months than I have in ten! ætərnal ðrAعon 08:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Konban wa, thanks for the reply, I'll get to it this week. R.O.D the TV 2nd "ED"? Do you mean "edition" or the ending song? Are you planning on watching the rest of the series (if you haven't finished it)? LOL, I was left hanging - the last episode I saw was ep. 18, where-- I guess if you meant edition, I'll save the spoiler. Tell me what you think of it! If you're looking for episodes online, just Google "watch rod the tv online" or something. I have preferences in terms of choosing websites when watching anime online.

PS I'm just asking but isn't "go-kigen yo" a "goodbye" term in Nihongo? I just learnt it that way.

ætərnal ðrAعon 08:18, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

PS that guy above in the previous comment was right, you have great taste in what you edit! You're also becoming influential/inspiring (lol I'm watching Chrno Crusade online now. I think they ought to make a subgenre of girls-with-guns called "nuns-with-guns".) ætərnal ðrAعon 09:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Konban wa, Here's the R.O.D the TV ED (2nd version): [1] Okay, I must admit, you've been influential, I haven't found a site where I can watch Marimite online if there is one out there.
Ah sorry forgot to check your youtube I'll remember next time :P
BTW, don't worry, I must apologise because I've shown off more to you! Yeah they do sell anime where I live, heaps, they even have a Kinokuniya in my city, that's where everyone I know gets their titles. I started watching R.O.D the TV when I was overseas in spare time, in a country where there is Animax, so when I return from overseas I guess I'm left "hanging". I've seen the OVA in full as well as TV episodes 1 to 8, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 18. I kinda don't wanna go further though, I might spoil some things for myself. I'll wait till I catcgh up on what I missed. And yes, domo arigato gozaimasu, gokigenyo! ætərnal ðrAعon 10:03, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I'll cut to the point I guess. Yeah, that's amazing you wrote the list of Jubei-chan characters, complete with images, all by yourself? It's good, I mean it won't go for FL right away but it usually takes several months and several users to stir up that data for a list. One thing though: be careful, it doesn't cite any references or sources, so it may be speedy deleted or various things taken out. Wikipedia hates original research (I think it's a pain), but I guess you could get away with a few external links (let's say, the official site, the reading for it at Anime News Network, the official site of the US distributor, and a fansite). Some thing goes for episode lists - a few external links are good. Recently I've been working tirelessly (though not as much in the past week) at List of Elfen Lied episodes and List of Elfen Lied characters. Pretty shocking anime, you might think, but the way that's structured as well as the inclusion of links is basically what most good lists look like (I'm workin to get it to FL). I guess same goes for your lists of episodes on Jubei-chan too, hope this helps! ætərnal ðrAعon 03:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

BTW what R.O.D-related article are you thinking of? ætərnal ðrAعon 00:39, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply, must have been weird coincidence that you checked up on Madlax being an FA the same day it was nominated. I thought it's been an FA for quite some time, but hey, time flies. Since you know more (and have most probably seen more) about R.O.D the TV than me, why don't you pick a good article based on what I've seen so far. Don't forget, Wikipedia hates original research (I think it's a pain) so we'll need to find some websites (even if we don't use them and cheapskate it)!

BTW, do they sell anime in every single entertainment store in Japan, even in department stores and stuff, or in Kinokuniya like they do here? Do they come in English too? That would be so cool, I wish anime was in every video store where I live.

ætərnal ðrAعon 08:50, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Marimite timeline edit

Sorry, but i just review the anime and now i'm in a confusion about the timeline, since you know a lot about the series more than me, could you explain some for me?

Episode 7 and 8, Yumi gives Sachiko the chocolate and asks her out for a date but after episode 9 and 10, the timeline is Christmarts, did she have to wait more than 10 months before going out with Sachiko, and in the second season, she attended the second year in spring, did she attended Lilian in spring last year, became Sachiko's seour and the event of episode 7, 8 happened in such a short time. And the most confused part that did Sei took her exam at the beginning of the year, i mean before 14 February. OgasawaraSachiko (Contact me here) 21:13, 12 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

AnimeSuki's Marimite FAQ suggests the order of events in the books was proper (ie. Christmas comes before Valentine's) but the airdates were swapsied to coincide with Valentine's Day (I think probably Girls' Day, or White Day, rather than Valentine's). I'm flattered you think I know stuff about Marimite, but perhaps it's that I know where to look? ;) -Malkinann (talk) 08:13, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: R.O.D edit

Hey there, thanks for the reply. As for what you asked,
  1. Yeah, I liked Chrono Crusade, but I mean, nuns don't really behave in such an immature way so I found it pretty weird that Rosette behaves really immaturely. That kinda made it look more comical. As for Marimite, well, it's very laid back and slow moving, and not as comical as most "schoolgirl"-style shojo anime. What do you mean "you can't believe I'm trying to watch it"?
  2. Please don't be impatient or get angry! I'm busy, you know, and you haven't even told me what you want userboxes to be about.
  3. I've known that friend for seven years, he lives near me, and he's never seen Blood+. No (don't worry, just because I know someone else it doesn't mean I can't help you/be your "ally"/friend), that's not his real name and he's not Japanese. I don't know where he got his username from, but I know he likes Touhou and Lucky Star (he changes his favourites really often). Knowing him, he ain't gonna spend much time here, instead probably on some forum that I've never heard of. Heh. He forgot, hasn't made any contribs since.
Anyway, will try to get into it soon, but I'm getting busy, as I said, I'll be on Wikipedia at most three times a week, otherwise for periods of only five minutes to chack up on changes/if I have new messages (including those from you, of course!) I'll try to get into creating userboxes either this week or next week. You know I keep my promises! ætərnal ðrAعon 23:24, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Konban wa, Sachiko-san, thanks for the reply,

Gungrave? Heard of it, but haven't actually paid attention. I mean, come on, you've already got me watching Marimite and Chrno Crusade, but hey. I guess Chrno Crusade wasn't my sort of thing, but heck, that Gungrave thing is really a stand-out in my terms.
I guess, I believe that "in general, there are only five types of anime":
  1. High school/secondary school shojo/romantic comedy (e.g. Azumanga Daioh, Suzumiya Haruhi)
  2. Medieval/Feudal Japan or Renaissance Europe-style fantasy/avdenture (e.g. InuYasha, Fushigi Yūgi)
  3. Those shonen like aimed at children (e.g. DBZ, Pokémon)
  4. Futuristic mecha or technology-related sci-fi and the societies of the future (e.g. GitS, Evangelion)
  5. Underworld horror (e.g. Death Note)
I picked my top 10 favourites (on my userpage) in the sense that they stand out because they don't fit into any of the above categories. (Sorry if I'm just showing off or boring you here.) You reckon there are any great stand-outs which I could be interested in?
About what you said about Marimite and the technical excellence, I must say I never used to pay attention to the scenery/backdrops of series...then I played Final Fantasy XII, started watching fantasy and sci-fi, and the imaginations of those people stunned me. So I guess the scenery and settings are really, really important in making things look beautiful. That's one of the things that I admired when I saw that first episode of Marimite, at least.

Okay, into the technical stuff. I'll get straight into construction of a userbox. There's a problem I encounter occasionally when putting categories into this sort of stuff, but for now, I'll add the category to the R.O.D userbox.

As for your list of episodes, I knew you could speak better about it than me, so thanks for that. I've added the list onto the R.O.D template. Don't forget, you'll need to cite some references if you don't want that list being sliced up and reduced down to one-word sentences. Find some references and put them on (I know you didn't really need to look at them, but let's just keep it to ourselves. Heh heh heh ;P). Another good thing to point out is the intro, usually their release dates and information together with sources (I don't know who distributes them in Japan but in Australia it's Madman and there are many in the US (I'm not sure which one was in charge of R.O.D but it's worth checking out ADV Films), check out [www.madman.com.au their website], find the R.O.D release details and put in an inline citation). If you want to know how they do it, check out the list of FLs on WikiProject Anime and manga, or, if you want to see how I do it (based around their Manual of Style), I've recently been editing List of Elfen Lied episodes, so if you want to find out how they do it from another list, there are plenty to check out. Hope this helps,

Whoa, all those copyright notices? They're real, and the images will be deleted. Anyway, just some friendly advice, Wikipedia does not allow non-free content in lists whatsoever. By "in lists", that means that a single descriptive image at the top of the page will be OK (for example, as you do, in a character list, maybe a group promotional drowing of all the characters at the top would be cool but a portrait of every character for their paragraph will not be allowed). In this case, I know many anime character lists have not been edited like this, but bots will continue to flog you with those warnings and delete them off the pages. Don't treat it as a joke; some users get blocked for repetitively reverting edits and going against the rules (edit wars). Some users and bots are notorious for doing this. Anyway, if you upload images of characters, be sure that the characters have their own articles, and keep the images there (those images of the R.O.D Paper Sisters you uploaded, they look great, but there were some images of them in the Read or Dream article that were deleted for this reason).

PS. Sorry about the above paragraph I was the one being talkative there! --ætərnal ðrAعon 10:28, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request edit

Oh whoops - I'm really sorry!! I was busybusy at the time when you asked, so I just read the message and forgot to reply. :( I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel silly. Please forgive me. It's really easy to make new talk pages - if it's an anime-related page, just put {{anime}} on it - this means it will be assessed by someone in WP:ANIME and that WP:ANIME will know about it's existance. For ideas on which projects to put your articles in, there's a big list on Wikipedia:WikiProject, or you could do what I do and find an article that's like the one you've just made and copy their wikiprojects. -Malkinann (talk) 21:43, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I asked you ages ago to please remember to resize your images to 300px dimensions before you upload them, for purposes of WP:NFCC, and to check out the fair use rationales for your images - but it doesn't seem like you can be bothered doing it.  :( -Malkinann (talk) 20:54, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gun Sword images edit

Hi - the problem is that we generally don't allow copyrighted images in "List of..." type articles unless there's a very good reason for it. These links WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#8 are a bit complicated but explain it, and this link here answers most questions you might have. Black Kite 11:30, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Forcing" me to watch Gungrave? edit

Whoa that was amazing! That's the first anime you recommended that I really liked. I must say, though, I got bored with the first episode after five minutes, then I looked at the beginning of the episode list here on Wiki and found out it's just a teaser for those who play the game. So I started with episode 2 and am at about episode 10 now. It kinda fits into the "underworld" I mentioned earlier but is still a bit of a stand-out amongst even those. Thanks, it was amazing ætərnal ðrAعon 10:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

PS are you still keen on making userboxes? I have plenty more free time so I can finally work on it now. Hope we can. ætərnal ðrAعon 10:40, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've writeen a summary on making userboxes on my help page. Don't hesitate to ask me anything if to want/need to! ætərnal ðrAعon 10:48, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Cool! You rock. Could I see what userboxes you've made (not that I would judge them, I just really like userboxes and always wonder what topics people write about on them, so it would be awesome!) ætərnal ðrAعon 10:06, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Awesome, is it OK if I say, edit a few a little bit? ætərnal ðrAعon 09:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, they're great, I wouldn't edit them without telling you how, I probably misphrased it. The idea I would be suggesting to you is one used in many userboxes - instead of saying "This user likes (stuff)", one who is making the box would instead write a cliche or phrase associated with what they're writing about. For example, what I wanted to do was take a spin on "This user likes Maria-sama ga Miteru" and change it to, say, "Maria-sama watches over this user" or something. Ah well, you've got the idea already, you're using cliches in your other userboxes, I just thought that would sound cool. ætərnal ðrAعon 08:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

List of Trinity Blood characters edit

Please STOP your attempts to add more images to this list. As per the large, easy to see notice at the top, the image already has too many non-free images. Per consensus, and to comply with the WP:NONFREE policy and the requirements of the Wikimedia Foundation, individual characters images are not appropriate. Only group shots should be used. We are working on accomplishing this goal on the list, and having more individual images added back does not help at all. There were individual images of Cain and Asthe, they were removed by consensus. Collectonian (talk) 13:33, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the future, please do not just make such a drastic change to a template as you did to Template:Blood+. Start a discussion on the main Blood+ talk page if you feel more links are needed. The notable songs are already wikified from the one place they are mentioned, the episode listing. They do not need to be in the template. Collectonian (talk) 13:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, please only add sourced material to List of Blood+ characters. The list is almost completely sourced now except for a few bare spots, and is being prepped for FLC. As such, having unsourced additions is not appropriate. Also, chevalier and chiropteran are not capitalized as they are not proper names, but species designations. See the discussion in the main Blood+ article's talk page for the consensus on this. Collectonian (talk) 15:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Madlax edit

Hey thanks, I'll have a look at it. I like to look at fansites but don't jump straight in, still it's interesting because you're not dealing with people who dismiss your show as "boring", they've all got something in common. Right now I'm hanging out at Anime News Network, the forum there is really interesting, we discuss several topics and you can talk about anything you want there related to anime (I started a new topic only three days after registering). Anyways, you might not be interested in that, but that guy who made the last post on the Noir and Madlax forums? I see him often on ANN. There recently was a topic on the relation between Noir and Madlax. Heck, if you want to join anytime, I'll aways be welcoming you!

PS you can also make and show off lists of your favourite anime there! I've done it tooætərnal ðrAعon 11:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gokigenyo, Sachiko-san, I just came up with the idea if you wanted to set up a separate page to show off all your userboxes. I did it, it a good way to organise them, know which ones are yours and kinda get people to see them.

P.S. I'm already into episode 8 of Gungrave, I already put it on my favourites, we were discussing it at Anime New Network recently, they recommended that I go on, it's still entertaining me alright ætərnal ðrAعon 11:27, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Non-Free Images edit

I'd like to say so but at most there should only be a few Non-Free images per article, and we had (5) in each for those articles. I left in thost that can be considered important. I especially liked the one of Kirika as the True Noir - very nice in terms of character development and commentary. The images will have to get deleted since they can't really be used anymore. I've uploaded a fair share of images myself and had to delete them after finding better ones - mainly with character lists where group shots (one photo depicting a lot of characters) are preferred over individual ones - so I know it sucks to lose them. Yet, it must be done. Fox816 (talk) 01:24, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's policy. Some parts of it I don't like myself but I do understand it and will follow accordingly. As far as your examples went, those are different though. The images are in character lists and are used for identification purposes - which is why we strive to get a single image showing a lot of characters. In terms of articles focusing on just one character alone, such images would be rather unnecessary to put in since you are only dealing with a single character and that character is already identified via the infobox image. In order to place more images into such an article they would need to be fairly significant relevant to the content of the article. Also there needs to be a balance of out-of-universe and in-universe content. If the content is mainly in-universe info, placing images related to such would just be adding more IU. That's something we don't need. In fact, it'll probably be cut out when the article is cleaned up. To balance, images of art productions and such would be great additions to an article since it's out-of-universe info. Of course, you have to remember to upload sparingly. Critical commentary would need to be added to justify the image being there as well. Check out Serial Experiments Lain for some great general image commentaries. Fox816 (talk) 03:07, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey here's a tip, on what Fox816 said, I've had images that I put up in lists deleted before, and I also really hate them being taken down. I know you're doing great to contribute to the encyclopedia as much as possible, and I appreciate the time you're using. It would save you lots of time though to know exactly what images can and can't be uploaded.
For those anime pics:
  1. Don't place individual images in lists. They will be deleted by a bot.
  2. If you think an image is needed for a character list, try and find a group image of all the characters.
  3. I think fanart is accepted, but some will say it's the work of the original artist and not you. Best not to do it, put it on your blog instead,
  4. If an article exists for an individual character, (such as in your favourites Beyond The Grave or in my favourites Lucy and Nyū), put an image of the character in the title infobox.
  5. When adding images to an episode list, most anime articles have an image of the DVD of the series in the introduction text, or some well-known promotional poster/art.
  6. Only put an image of the character in the main text if:
    • It shows him/her in an important moment in the series relating to the character
    • It shows the character in a different time frame (e.g. when Beyond th Grave was still Brandon Heat, etc.)
  1. Check the copyright status:
    • Character image: Screenshot
    • DVD: Video or DVD cover
    • Group picture: Unless it actually featured in the episodes, it's a promotional poster.

Hope this helps. Sorry if I'm annoying you because Fox816 said some of it already.

ætərnal ðrAعon 11:05, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yea, sorry about that. I tend to forget to reply to messages a lot. Eternal basically covered everything. There isn't much anyone can do if the images are unusable. Breaking down the images taken out for Mirielle and Kirika, there were some which just depicted the duo together. The entire series is revolved around their partnership so showing that is excessive when its clearly explained in the prose. As well, it's not significant to the article to show Mirielle firing a weapon. While the Kirika one of her "killing" Mirielle's parents tried to exemplify the past - it only showed her looking up with a gun instead of doing the deed so in terms of illustrating the scene, there was none. Character articles don't need many images since many a time people tend to upload scenes solely for including more out-of-universe content. And, as previousely noted, there needs to be a balance of out-of-universe and in-universe. If an individual article is majority OOU, it'll be cut down and probably merged into a list since the article failed to meet criteria for staying independent. Fox816 (talk) 12:18, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
You might have some luck keeping the one of Kirika and Mirielle fighting, but not the second one of Kirika looking up with a gun. There's nothing important about that depiction no matter what scene it's associated with. Start a topic in the WP:ANIME Discussion page regarding that image and ask what other editors think. They can provide you more insight about non-free images and policies of what is and what is not acceptable, and consensus will decide whether or not some of the images you want to keep will be kept. Best of luck. Fox816 (talk) 18:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Userboxes Part III? Or just a new topic? edit

My "favourite"? What do you mean? ætərnal ðrAعon 08:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I like Jigoku Shojo, and Jyu Oh Sei sort of, haven't heard of that "Kenshin" though. I don't really put anime favourites on YouTube (except AMVs...have you seen Elfen Lied yet? It's pretty popular in the anime world in Australia), although there are a few videos that I favourite there regularly. Yeah, I liked Jigoku Shojo, or as the people here insist on calling it, "Hell Girl", because they can't remember Nihongo names or something (sigh...cheapskates), but often it's ED's which I really like. I recently favourited some other videos onn YouTube, heh. PS did you see I added some advice to your talk page...I can't help but help you seeing as all these users throw copyright notices at you. ætərnal ðrAعon 04:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Your friend has seen Elfen Lied? Did she mention the first seven minutes of the first episode? I know what you mean when you say Jigoku Shojo gets repetitive. It's really the general plot idea that really freaked me out in the series, even if every episode follows it. So they've started showing Jyu Oh Sei on Animax? They finished airing it on Animax in Singapore and the Philippines a long time ago. Good watch, really. Anyway, despite what I said, if you're into a good watch with strong emotional and psychological themes, I'll recommend Elfen Lied to you. In the same way you recommended Gungrave to me. ætərnal ðrAعon 02:34, 4 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
P.S. Your talk page is getting long. You might want to start archiving. ætərnal ðrAعon 02:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Gokigenyo, sorry, I've been on a wikibreak of stressful exams, so I haven't been able to get back to you, but anyway, that user page that I have on my help page is one of another user who I knew last year. I posted it up a while ago, haven't heard from him in 6 months so I kinda forgot about him. By the way, was my advice about image copyright helpful? Are you enjoying Jyu Oh Sei (if you're watching it)? ætərnal ðrAعon 11:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nah, i stopped watching Chrono Crusade, I mean, I don't have the time to watch heaps of anime on end, so I just stick to a few favourites. Right now, I've been watching Gungrave, but that's been online and I've gotta restrict what I download, so I'm waiting to get the box set of that. Haven't heard of that To Loveru or change guy thing though. ætərnal ðrAعon 03:35, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, so you like manhwa? ætərnal ðrAعon 04:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! This guy recommended RK to me; but I think I'll finish Gungrave first. I don't get to watch anime very often, it's not very cheap and I have download limits online. PS don't worry if you think you're being talkative; I alpologize if I'm ever bragging, errr. ætərnal ðrAعon 00:44, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Michelle Cheung edit

Hi OgasawaraSachiko -- just wanted you to know I cleaned up the refs in the Michelle article. The only ones remaining (just 3) are those supporting material lifted directly from the source material, or regard controversial material. I read your other requests and will try to edit the R.O.D stuff when I can (I am recovering from surgery at the moment). I can't do Noir or Madlax as my knowledge of the material is much more limited. DeathQuaker (talk) 18:19, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Sachiko, me again. I did get to the R.O.D episode list--see if you like it. (The major changes were done by me; 29 May 2008 -- somehow I managed to log myself out before editing.) Also responded to your category question on my talk page -- I don't think the Paper Sisters should be listed as "clones" because they aren't actually clones (Anita's a test tube baby but not a copy of anyone, and as far as I can tell from the series dialogue, Mich and Mags are altered humans who were born normally). Re: Beyond The Grave article edit

If you get a chance please check your grammar on this page. It seems you were in a rush or didn't proofread. There's all kinds of stuff like excessive commas, run-on sentences, lack of capitalization, using someone's name repeatedly when it's clear they're the subject already, etc.

I'll check back in a few weeks to see if it's better, if not I don't mind cleaning it up. 76.10.136.119 (talk) 02:37, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Images 3 edit

Wow. You really are being bold. And yes, you love your images alright. Since it's two weeks now since your last log on, many of the images you posted have been deleted. Don't feel bad, it happens a lot. Keep being bold and confident!

Yeah I've been recently involved in a big debate over the status of an article, so I've been pulled back into Wikipedia from breaks to study. Either way, though, you really love those images. You could even make your own anime! Then again, I recently checked up on YouTube; you never seem to add any favourites except the odd Marimite episode. Don't you watch anything else there? ætərnal ðrAعon 12:43, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey thanks! Exams over for me, how did your exams go? I just checked out your account on youtube, you had a birthday? Like that Madlax background. ætərnal ðrAعon 06:34, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yo, yeah I recommend you check out youtube (i.e. more than just anime episodes), heh you're missing out on quite a bit. (Just don't forget to study for school lol.) Sheesh how many images do you upload every month, seriously?! ætərnal ðrAعon 03:33, 13 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Madlax albums edit

Hey. I hate to barge in like that but me and another editor've been talking and found that at its current state, the list of Madlax albums fails to meet relevance criteria, as it is little more than four infoboxes and four track listings. Finished Gungrave? I bought the DVD a few months ago, but I haven't touched it for a while (busy at school? Same here.) I think the articles you've made were deleted due to being under-referenced. It's hard for me to do that too, I assume you get most of your information from watching the series? If you do, it occassionally falls under the WP:NOR category. One of my character articles was merged into List of Elfen Lied characters due to not being referenced properly, but most of the time, there's just not enough information on websites. Think of it as a good thing - it's a reason to have more information on the "List of characters" page, so you can make it a featured list. Anyway, nice to year from you again! ætərnal ðrAعon 10:37, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
BTW do you read your novels in English or Japanese? ætərnal ðrAعon 10:38, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I love Tintin, it was all the comics I read before I got into manga. I've been meaning to work on Tintin articles but haven't found the time. What do you think of the comics? I'll probably get back to working on them since you reminded me. ætərnal ðrAعon 07:53, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
