Lists edit

Hi, I would strongly recommend that you start reading the talk page of the List of Once Upon a Time characters that you are putting so much effort in. I'm afraid that very soon people will have enough and start hacking away at all the unencyclopedic fancruft that you have been adding. WP is an encyclopedia, not a fansite. Your efforts would probably be much better directed at adding all this stuff on the Once Upon a Time Wiki. I haven't checked, but I really hope that your additions are not just copied from there... There have been deletion discussion for almost all major characters (which at some point all had individual articles) and you should read those, too. If you want to stay active here, what needs to be done is: merge the two character lists back into one list. Remove at least 90% of the current text, especially all the overly detailed narrative stuff. Search for independent reliable sources that discuss these characters (and not only in an in-universe perspective) and add those to the article. That way, you may end up with an encyclopedic list. However, the monstrous lists that currently exist are not how lists on Wikipedia should be (you may have a look at some of our featured lists (especially those dealing with fiction) and start modelling this list in their image. Hope this helps. --Randykitty (talk) 11:43, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

All I have done is add to what was already there. I know that there needs to be proper sources other than the episode articles but like I said, those were already there so I though for the meantime they would be okay. I think it would help that the main characters had individual article pages because of Once Upon a Time's mythology of the way it presents characters (their past is sometimes shown after their future so it is constantly missing periods in their lives). I agree that the lists are getting very long and will only get longer, hence why I split the articles. I have already tried making individual character articles but they were deleted for some reason. I still think this is the best idea for the main characters because then the List of characters article would not be so large, and a lot of the text could be heavily reduced. List of Once Upon a Time Characters edit

The overly wordy, overly detailed specifics of the character list are not needed. Your continued adding back in overly long, wordy explanations is not helpful. It is really frustrating to be trying to get the explanations to be more concise and brief and have this stopped at every turn. The clear message on the talk page is the article is too long.John Pack Lambert (talk) 17:25, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Okay sorry, I will leave it behind now. But if you are going to remove words, please make sure it is grammatically correct as possible as it is frustrating for me to go through it and correct mistakes. Thanks :) OUATFan (talk) 18:04, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Given my previous comment posted above, it is of course clear that I totally agree with John. However, I would like to add that I appreciate your willingness to work in the desired direction and your efforts to pare this article down to a manageable size. --Randykitty (talk) 13:19, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

OUAT Episode Counts edit

Hi there. Is there a reason you are reverting my edits to the episode counts? All of the information is accurate. IMDB is often unreliable and inaccurate, why do you insist on using them as a source? I want the articles to be as accurate as possible. We need to remove the episode counts if you are going to continue to put false information down. For instance, Henry was missing in two episodes and the article shows he's been in every episode. If you watch the show, you would know this, as would rewatching the specific episodes. How can we fix this issue? --Alexisfan07 (talk) 18:51, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

On the IMDB page, which is an official source, though yes some people can edit it. It is more reliable than a fan-based site. Furthermore, you discount the episodes that have (Credit-only) featured after them. Sorry if I come across as annoying, I don't mean to. I've come across people on here that used to revert all of my edits. I just think that IMDB is the best source we have. OUATFan (talk) 19:20, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Once Upon a Time-related edit

I have read your post and I am just saying that the info was added in order to do further details on the characters since some editors won't allow full-detailed information on some of the characters on the pages of the fairy tales that most of them are from. Did I leave anything out? Also, I have noticed before Season Three aired that somebody added the tables for the characters while eliminating the mini-sections for them where some of the editors can easily edit that character's section. Do you have any comment on that? Outside ofthat, what do you think of this show and it's spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland so far? Rtkat3 (talk) 4:41, October 28 2013 (UTC)

In a table it is easier to differentiate between each character and place into more significant roles. I'm loving the show, I didn't expect Wonderland to be that good but it is a lot different to OUAT, I like the Britishness of it! Just saw the last episode of OUAT and I think it was the best one yet! Hoping you're liking it too. Didn't mean to sound harsh before as I know what it is like having someone remove everything you have done. We just have to try and keep it concise and look at the big picture! OUATFan (talk) 21:43, 28 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
I see what you mean about the table part. It has already been confirmed that both OUAT series will have a crossover later in Season 3. Most of the characters in the original series come from the Enchanted Forest (which is the name given to the Fairytale World) while Dr. Whale comes from the Land Without Color (the name given to what appeared to be where anyone in the horror genre resides and where witchcraft is not as powerful as the witchcraft in the Enchanted Forest). There were characters that also come from Wonderland, Agrabah, Earth, and a Victorian Era-type world. Outside of that, Peter Pan plans to use the effects of Henry's "Heart of the Truest Believer" abilities to have Henry save the magic on all the worlds. Rtkat3 (talk) 7:33, October 28 2013 (UTC)

Spelling for Rumplestiltskin edit

You reverted the edit and I admit I should have made clear what I was doing in more than just the edit summary. Where is the information you say is already there?— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 18:32, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

In the references throughout his summary and for his episode count, directs to IMDB under the character title Rumplestiltskin. It is only as I've been working really hard to keep the page concise as it's over 180,000 bytes. Cheers :) OUATFan (talk) 18:41, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Nothing was done in the article Rumpelstiltskin. I'm thinking of adding something there because it's not clear other than in the edit summary why I did that. And when I asked on a now-deleted talk page someone was able to find for me, that's the source they gave.— Vchimpanzee · talk · contributions · 19:45, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Excessive response edit

I read your thing. If you are talking about the characters that don't have fairy tale counterparts on the Once Upon a Time franchise (the original series and it's spin-off), then where else can we put their information? If you'd like, you can add any full histories to the pages of the fairy tale characters like I've been doing to the pages for White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, and Caterpillar. By the way, were you able to see last night's episode of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland which included a twist ending? Rtkat3 (talk) 1:00, December 13 2013 (UTC)

It's a bit of a tricky one because I've already tried to create apges for the individual characters but they always end up deleted which in my opinion is crazy because the page is just going to get bigger and bigger with more characters. In the end, we may have to create indiviudual articles for main, secondary and additional. other than that all I can suggest is jsut concising it constantly, keeping the main points that are extremely significant to the characters. For example, locations, times, dates etc arent really neccassary. I did see it yes. I went off it for a bit after the 3rd ep but jsut got back into it and im actually really loving it! I love how it is so different to OUAT but so similar. It has its own style. I hope it gets another series. I know it is unlikely but I just think it has such a great cast and storyline. Either that or they should ass some of the characters into OUAT. I dont know why the Red Queen gets so much hate, she is awesome!! I was worried she would die, thank god she didn't! OUATFan (talk) 18:29, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
We'll you already created the page for the ones that appear in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and the page to handle the creatures and races. Once the mid-season break for Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is over, we'll know what happens next following the twist ending to "Home." As for the main series, this show's version of Peter Pan is planning to tamper with the Dark Curse that the Evil Queen enacted with some of her followers. Rtkat3 (talk) 1:48, December 13 2013 (UTC)

List Of Character In OUAT Problems edit

Hello OUATFan, firstly, I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I did wrong on this Talk page (I have not fully learn everything here) and secondly, what I did was just to make the Characters List complete. I am trying to add Timelines (Example : Events Before, During and After The First / Second Curse). And NO I don't think there are any Grammar Errors because I did not basically add much. Just additional information on the Character's details and whereabouts. Other than that, I also wanted each information to be accurate (Example : Regina don't really have a Land Without Magic counterpart as she is "Regina Mills and the Evil Queen" back in the Enchanted Forest.

Next, I wanted to change the headline, (Example : Fictional Counter Part and Real World Counterpart) as it should really be (Example : Fairy Tale World Counterpart and Land Without Magic Counterpart). This is because the show basically mentions Our World as the Land Without Magic and they refer to their world as the Fairy Tale Land. This would be easier to understand the Characters List, as some characters (Example : Wendy, Dorothy and etc) are not really from the Fairy Tale Land. Also, I wanted this list to be completed, as in adding all the characters from the Pilot Episode till the current episode. I also wanted to combine both Once Upon A Time and Once Upon A Time In Wonderland characters as well. You might think I'm crazy, but it will be nice because basically, the two shows are connected in a way and both are from the same world. As for the story being to long, honestly, I don't think it is that long, because each character has to have their own timeline to answer their whereabouts in connection to both the First and Second Curse.

(Example : Cora / Queen Of Hearts). Her timeline is not stated during her time in Wonderland. In the spin - off series Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, it have been shown that she went to the Wonderland Castle and met the Red Queen / Anastasia and taught her magic. This piece of the puzzle was never added to Cora's timeline. Other that that, both Character's and Creatures should be added together in one List, as it will be easier for other OUAT Fans to read it. As for the Episode Count, we can add up their appearance in Both Shows (Example : Cora, Leroy / Grumpy and Cinderella / Ashley) whom appeared in both, either Recurring nor Guest.

Finally, I'm very sorry if what I'm doing here at Talk is wrong and might have irritated you. I'm also sorry if the comments I wrote above is at the wrong area. I only joined Wikipedia to only edit the OUAT page, as I wanted the Characters List to be completed with each Timeline and every character from the show is added.

Hey dude. Don't be silly. So many users just clash and war over opinions and it is silly, you have been very kind and professional about this. I know it is a pain when editors just revert everything you do. However, as you can probably tell, I have spent a LOT of time on this article. From when I first started editing about a year ago, I have had to manage it as editors feel the need to add SO much detail, every little point in a character's life. The page is extremely large so I am trying to keep it concise and only include events that have specifically shaped that character. For example, Cora meeting the Red Queen is not an important detail as this did not particularly change her life, its all about prioritizing. I could see what you were doing with the timelines, though these headings are not needed as it is self explanatory in the opening section to the page, outlining the timelines clearly. I am not saying do not add, but please just keep it concise as possible, otherwise the page will just be too hard to read and keep organised. Thanks for understanding buddy, I appreciate it. Any more questions, feel free to ask :) OUATFan (talk) 13:50, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

By the way Dude, you watch Once Upon A Time In Wonderland? I'm just wondering, is Victorian, England part of Fairy Tale Land or part of the Land Without Magic? Because if you noticed, Alice, Edwin and others there did not Age, which can be proved with events Before and After the First Curse. Were those people affected by the Evil Queen's Dark Curse? Cause like Alice was in Wonderland (as a grown Women) when Cora was still alive and ruling part of Wonderland as the Queen Of Hearts. And know to everyone, the curse was for 28 Years, shouldn't Alice be old and Edwin probably dead? Oh, and you have Facebook? Can I add you? It would be easier to discuss our plans for the Once Page. Just gimme your FB Name and I'll add ya.
