Hi Natalie. Hmm, sorry about that. I was lead astray by the AfD tag on the author's talk page. I assumed that since he had been notified about an AfD on that page, and that it had been deleted in the past, it was due to an AfD. My mistake there, although I still think it's a speedy candidate under pure vandalism. (Although that's just my opinion since I can't find any sources to back up the material). Cheers, --Bfigura (talk) 01:57, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

To clarify, I think the author's just been introducing the same content under a number of different names. (Although since I can't see deleted contribs, I can't say for certain, but I seem to remember seeing that content before). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 01:58, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi Natalie. Ok, drop me a line if the citation turns up anything. In the meantime I left a more personalized warning on the user's talk page that should inform anybody else who has to deal with this in the future. Cheers, --Bfigura (talk) 02:13, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I need to a template to be moved

I noticed that the guy that made that Pickles and Prickles Time article you deleted also made a template even though there already was one at Template:Out Of Jimmy's Head. Can you delete Template:Out of Jimmy's Head so that the previous one can be moved in it's place? SNS 02:21, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

thanks

thanks for the info on the page deletion "missed call"
really appreciate it!

I've managed to install a picture in the above article, but can't get it to move over to the right where images normally appear. How do I do this? Thanks in advance. Adx946 21:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

David Lind

If you want to continuously delete David Lind, that's fine. But that also affects some people's legal issues, obviously old issues by now, but ones that are still affecting person's lives to this day. His entrance into the protected witness program caused a certain amount of consternation at the time, and with the present controversy about government expenditures, his reported activities and manner of death while being a protected witness throws the need of such an expensive government program into doubt. Lind's history is very important to legislature.

I find your actions curious as you're said to be taking history in school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.245.123.17 (talk) 11:19, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

And as I've told you again and again, you need to cite a source. Wikipedia is not your lawyer and it is not therapy, and you will not be permitted to libel someone here. Show a source, and it can stay. Natalie 13:22, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, that's the first time you've mentioned "source" to me. I understand that Wikipedia's not a lawyer or a therapist (why would you bring the last up anyway? Not trying to discredit anyone, are you?), but Wikipedia is also not a source for false and misleading information (from what I've come to understand, anyway).

Now, what is a source in a situation such as this? I noticed that there were a few persons listed as gang members. The persons accusing these people were, no doubt, convicted felons themselves who were probably exchanging gang information for reduced sentences in legal matters. That type of source is easily impeached. "Sources" on an information page such as this may be different than on other pages, don't you think? So if Lind is continuously removed from it, shouldn't other names be, also?

On Wikipedia's [Wonderland] page Lind's reported to have had a gang tattoo. Is this a source? It's Wikipedia itself. Why hasn't that been taken down if there are supposed libel issues? Or is there something amiss with the entire Wonderland page? A source may be this person: Robert Souza.

I don't believe that there's any libelous intent here. Not on my part, anyway. Perhaps slander lies elsewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.212.147.119 (talk) 14:19, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I've finally managed to get a response from you! If you check the talk pages of the various IPs you've used, you'll find that I've left many, many messages for you regarding your edits. I have also communicated this information through the edit summaries at Aryan Brotherhood. I can only assume from your response that you have not received any of these messages.
As to what Wikipedia is a source of, it makes no claims to represent the truth. Wikipedia only claims to attempt to represent that which is verifiable, and in this case, you've provided no way to verify the information you present. The David Lind entry you referenced is not a reliable source, as it itself provides no external sources. A general discussion of what a reliable source is can be found at Wikipedia: Reliable sources.
The probable libel is this edit and the half dozen identical edits you've attempted to make, suggesting that this person used their friendship with a governor to get into the witness protection program. As the governor in question is still living, this edit runs afoul of Wikipedia: Biographies of living persons. And considering that the information at Wonderland Gang is almost identical in phrasing to the piece you have attempted to add to Aryan Brotherhood, I would not be surprised if I found your IP in the edit history, adding this particular paragraph. No, you cannot legitimize your edits to one article by making identical edits to another article. Natalie 21:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

No, the "probable libel" is your statement that Lind used his friendship with Brown to get into witness protection. I never said that, I never said that I thought that Lind knew Brown personally, is that what you read? I don't see that anywhere in any Wikipedia articles that I've read, nor have I ever suggested that. If someone else has, I know nothing about that.

And if you're concerned with Lind, why don't you delete his Wonderland reference? Did you read about the alleged crime seen being close to a Brown residence? Does that infer any kind of association? If not, why was it mentioned? Does that writing look similar to mine, too? And are you suggesting I wrote the Wonderland page entirely myself? I didn't. So why can't I reference information in another article that I didn't entirely write myself? We're not talking about Brown, we're talking about the gang membership. Please don't confuse the two issues.

Are you the editor that's been interfering with my Wikipedia posts? I assumed that there had been different editors, as I've seen different Wikipedia posting names that have questioned my input. Do you use multiple Wikipedia posting names? Are you intending to continue to monitor my posts? Cool!

And again, if you have a Wikipedia page on the topic of gang membership, the term "verifiable sources" is itself questionable, isn't it? Don't you notice some contradictions in what's been posted?

I've never said that Lind was in National Geographic, either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.244.163.78 (talk) 01:02, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

You should follow your own logic - I have not said anything about Jerry Brown at all. As this is your own defense, you would be best to follow it yourself. You're right that I misread exactly what you are writing, but presently you are including information about a living person that is negative in tone, which is contrary to the BLP policy. I think your statement implies a connection between Lind, the governor's office, and various gangs, and because you cannot put your words into the mouth of a reliable source I don't think they should stay.
I'm going to assume that you haven't read the BLP policy yet, but it's incredibly important because information along these lines has caused negative press for Wikipedia in the past (see Seigenthaler controversy). I have not deleted the Wonderland reference because I had not looked at that article until you mentioned it. I only became aware of your unsourced contributions to the Aryan Brotherhood article because it's on my watchlist. And no, you cannot cite Wikipedia as a source, as it's not considered reliable.
I have no idea who's been "interfering " with your posts. As I said, your IP changes every time you log on, apparently, so I can't see what other articles you've edited. If you've been posting unsourced claims about living people, though, it's entirely possible that many people have been removing them. This is, as I said, a particularly important issue to Wikipedia. If you are having issues with other editors, I would suggest you take it up with those editors. You may want to ask them to respond to you on their talk page, to ensure you find their answers. Natalie 02:11, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

All right, I see what you're saying as far as "the governor in question" as opposed to "Jerry Brown" thing goes. Thank you. I agree, it's no doubt a touchy subject, and your way of referencing is preferable to mine. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.244.163.78 (talk) 04:04, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

It is a touchy subject, since Wikipedia has had some pretty big problems in this arena before. I'm happy we've finally been able to have a dialogue, instead of me just leaving messages that you never actually receive and you being confused about why you keep being reverted. Natalie 04:46, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Serotone page deleted.

Hi Natalie. I am not sure why the Serotone page that I added yesterday has been deleted. You said that it was blatant copyright infringement. Please can you explain why you think this is copyright infringement? Here is the link you put beside your remark of the article being copyright infringement. LINK

It makes no sense. The link has nothing to do with the band Serotone, its a link to a random CD on sale page!

I put (as requested) beside Serotone's name their AMG link to show they are a real band and have distribution (across the UK, USA and Europe). heres the link again. LINK

Its bare at the moment, but Serotone are still on AMG website. They haven't had distribution for long although their distribution is through Cargo, one of the leading music distributors for British Record Labels..

Thanks for your time Natalie. Looking forward to your reply, Graeme x —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ecktronic (talkcontribs) 19:14, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

SatyrBot

Hi, Natalie! I've taken all SatyrBot's automated tasks out so it won't be doing anymore double-tagging. I'm in the middle of re-writing a bunch of it's code, so until I get that done, I'm not going to let it run auto. When you get a chance, would you mind un-blocking it so I can test the code as I go? Much appreciated - and feel free to steal the ITMFA tag - I did :) Thanks again! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 15:40, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi again, Natalie! Is it possible to "undo" all the edits the bot did on the 1st? I could write the program to do it, but I vaguely recall that bots can be undone? Or am I wrong? Thanks! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 20:47, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

The Cherry Valence

Hi, I saw this page got speedily deleted. I think the page history should speak for itself. Somebody put up a stupid article, and then I replaced it with a well-written article (which passes WP:MUSIC by having two releases on an important indie) based on their Allmusic entry, and then I went to bed. If I'm right, that probably got replaced with the stupid article again and then deleted. Can someone take a second look? Thanks. Chubbles 16:46, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

What the Heck!

You deleted my page about a group around my hometown called DAP: The Equilibrium Movement! Just because you've never heard of the group doesn't mean they don't exist. They are a real group fighting for equality, I'm just an admirer standing from the sidelines. You're biased; I wasn't supporting them or anything, I was just posting information about them to inform people about what DAP is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PanicMan52 (talkcontribs) 12:57, 3 October 2007

I spent hours typing up and article and you deleted it...

Hello, I am the manager for the band Radio Pirate DJ from Flint, MI. Earlier this morning I spent hours typing up a biography on them detailing their background and upcoming motives including their shows and new releases. I did as every other band on here has their page and I even used the template for music artists to create the page. So I am wondering as to why it was so abruptly deleted without me being notified about the page at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tehbrybry (talkcontribs) 14:09, 3 October 2007

Dub-ya

Hello. While doing maintenance on User talk:208.11.8.10, I noticed that your {{uw-d1}} warning contained [1] an extra "w" in the subst. I hope you do not mind that I just went ahead and fixed it. --Kralizec! (talk) 22:00, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Possible deletion? And a problematic user.

The article for Yon seems suspicious, not particularly questioning the existence but more so the notability and the articles quality itself. The article seems to have been edited (created even?) by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/201.141.61.159. This user keeps editing the Lisa Origliasso article, which probably doesn't even need to exist because the article regaring The Veronicas is a detailed description of her in any case, however, this user is constantly adding false and confusing information. I've left a few constructive comments on their talk page hoping they would, a) find a source and b) stop adding the information. Basically, this user keeps reverting correct information and adding false, incorrectly spelled and unstructured information regarding this article, (and some others) so perhaps they need a warning? I'm not at liberty to administer one or delete an article, so I thought I might contact you. I hope I am helping.

Sandra Gonzalez

Hi Natalie, I'm new to WikiPedia - and was just wondering why you deleted this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandra_Gonzalez

Did I do something wrong? And how can I fix it so we can have the page back up again.

Thanks.

Do You Have A Life?

I spend hours typing various informational articles about different topics only to find out two or three days later that you delted them. I have never been deleted by another admin except for you (this user is one of many that I use to write articles). I quit Wikipedia a couple months ago because of this. At first I thought a site where you could edit the articles was very interesting; it turns out that I was wrong. This site was one of my favorites until these seemingly random deletions. I am wondering . . . do you happen to have a life outside of Wikipedia? Do you even get invited to parties on or off campus? I bet your still a virgin. You're probably reading this and thinking "What a douche." But it's true. Face it. Get on with life (or in your case, Wikipedia). —Preceding unsigned comment added by PanicSanchez52 (talkcontribs) 20:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Parties are overrated - the bar is vastly more fun. You'll find out in eight or nine years, once you turn 21. Natalie 21:23, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I see. You're an alchoholic. You know, there are groups for that. How did you know how old I was (I was writing as more of a sixteen to eighteen year old)?--PanicMan52 13:09, 9 October 2007 (UTC)PanicMan52

For someone who considers spending too much time on Wikipedia a horrible thing, you certainly are spending a lot of time pathetically attempting to insult me. Perhaps you'd be better off if you focused your time in some other way. You could read about alcoholism, for example, if you're interested in learning what behaviors actually comprise alcoholism. Knock it off. Natalie 13:25, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Hold on a minute. You're arguing with a thirteen year over something he said to you. Now, I would call that pathetic. As said before, "I was just trying to provoke a response from you" and guess what: it worked. Just like two kids on a playground; one is trying to act mature as a smaller and younger child is annoying him . . . in the end we find out who is more mature. The younger one trying to provoke the older, or the older one who is actually responding. This is my last message. Have a nice life.--PanicMan52 13:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)PanicSanchez52

It's been thrilling talking to you. Natalie 21:15, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
In response to PanicSanchez52 It's interesting how easily you can spot immaturity in a person just by hearing them say, "I bet your still a virgin." Aside from the spelling errors made in that simple sentence alone, the immaturity just oozes through. In fact, the entire "you live on Wikipedia" approach is a little laughable itself, in that this user has taken the time to create multiple accounts (perhaps a little Wikipedia obsessed?) and even takes the liberty of starting a heated discussion about why their non-important articles have been deleted. My suggestion to them would be to a) stop "spending hours typing various information articles about different topics that no-one deems important other than you or b) embrace the fact that you, PanicSanchez53, might need to get off Wikipedia yourself. Don't pick on other users simply because they are more diligent than you. --Rosario 07:32, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Re-Response from PanicSanchez52: Hah hah hah. I am immature aren't I? Didn't I just say I quit Wikipedia? I only logged on to take a look at one of my articles; when I found that deleted I checked on my other articles and found those deleted too. Besides, it only takes all of two minutes to create an account. It's interesting how easily you can spot a person's attentiveness when they spell your user name wrong. In fact, the entire "answering a fool according to his folly' approach is a little laughable, in that all I wanted to do was provoke a response from you and it worked. I must say that I agree with you and the multi-billions of people that deem my article topics unimportant (It's amazing how you interviewed every single user on Wikipedia on how worthless they think my articles are). My suggestion to you would be a)either ignore a comment made by an angry user trying to "get back" or b)embrace the fact that people think you're more diligent than you should be (that whole sentence sounded a little immature, huh?) and that you wasted part of your life by being on Wikipedia when you could be out in the real world helping people (and that was an immature run-on sentence, wasn't it?). You taught me a lesson, Natalie; I shouldn't be wasting my time on a website that hosts articles that cannot be proven true and cannot be proven false. Well, it was nice responding to your response. Oh, and you never answered my question about the campus parties . . . it's true isn't it? Looks like I've got to go; there's a lady next door that needs her lawn mowed. Oh, I'm sorry. That sounded a little immature, didn't it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by PanicMan52 (talkcontribs) 20:16, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

GAPPS

Hi, You deleted an article which i had permission to use from the owner of the material. i have permission from the GAPPS Board of Directors to use the material on the website in the Wikipedia article. I was of the understanding that if you had permission to use copyrighted material then it was OK as long as you mentioned this in the discussion pages. Please could you explain why you deleted this article when i clearly stated that i had permission from the "owners" to use it? (GAPPS 23:36, 11 October 2007 (UTC))

Rudy Crew page under threat of deletion

I would like your reaction to the controversy surrounding the biographical article on Dr. Rudolph Crew. Do you think that the article is POV? or worthy of speedy deletion? An editor tagged the biography article on Dr. Rudolph Crew, an education chancellor under NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, the longest tenure chancellor of education (NYC) in recent memory prior to Joe Klein, for speedy deletion. Crew gets 209,000 hits in a yahoo search. Given that Crew has indeed been quite notable, e.g. getting interview by high profile media, such as PBS, I consider the moves by the editors to be highly partisan.

As you are an administrator, I'd be interesting and in your opinion as to whether the editors flagging the article for speedy deletion are over-reaching their power. Thanks. Dogru144 03:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

JPG/The Whole Deal

Hello, first I replied to your post on the ANI page. Second, and to be very honest, I don't want to argue about JPG anymore. It's pointless, hopeless, and giving me a very large migraine. I have tried to get my point across to him, and it is like talking to a wall. I have tried being nice to him, even left him alone for awhile, and thought, "let's try this again", tried talking to him and we went right back to arguing. So, the whole thing is pointless.

About the page moving, I can't help that. I can only see the merge/move made by the admin (per a request on WP:RM). JPG's move was there, not it's not. All I can see is that one (and only one) edit by that admin. But again, that is moot. He knows that he made a mistake, hell we all do, it wouldn't be a big deal if he would just say "yeah, my goof". The other day, I accidently reverted a page as vandalism, I instantly re-reverted and apologized. I didn't try to say "it wasn't me". That's what annoys the most.

But, again, it is pointless. A working relationship on Wiki between him and myself isn't going to work and what sucks is that he continues to edit radio station pages, so our paths will cross. Oh well, back to radio stations (it's what I know). Take Care....NeutralHomer T:C 13:17, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Selective Deletion

Hi, I'm puzzled why you would selectively delete The 100 Greatest Albums of the 80's but not Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time or Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time...(I'm sure there are others).

The first list was worthy of being renamed to better fit with the other Rolling Stone lists (in fact its title did conform to that standard, just the actual page filename did not), but if you're going to delete one you must delete them all. If one is a copyright violation, they all are.

It is warped logic to accept copyright violation so long as the list represents "all time," but not if it only represents a particular decade. This appears to be another example of overzealous Wiki moderation by individuals who are either too far removed from the subject to make a logical ruling, or just too lazy to adequately research something they do not fully understand. In either case, prudent self-restraint should cause you to remove yourself from the decision to use the omnipotent delete button and affecting millions of information-seeking visitors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.198.109 (talk) 13:42, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Your analogy on my talk page was false and nonsensical. A better one would be, "if you find three broken windows, you should probably get them all fixed." I'll expect you to nominate all other Rolling Stone lists for deletion, or forfeit your credibility. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.198.109 (talk) 19:06, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Could you help me to understand how, when presented with a number of summarized lists that have all been culled from the same copyright-holding provider, one might conclude that a particular list among them is worthy of deletion -- while the others remain somehow immune to the deletion criteria? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.198.109 (talk) 21:55, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Questions on recreating the Pimpadelic entry

Natalie Erin,

I'm a new Wikipedia user who would like to recreate a page for the rapcore musical group "Pimpadelic". I see that you had deleted the previous entry.

The reason code for the deletion was: CSD A7 (Unremarkable People, Groups, Companies and Web Content)

I am a firm believer in maintaining the quality of Wikipedia, and I'd like to create a page that is consistent with that belief.

In that vein, I had two questions for you:

  • Do you remember specifically why you deleted the prior entry? (This might help me avoid a similar mistake.)
  • Is there a good example of a band entry, or guidelines for creating a band entry, that you could "point me toward"?
  • Pimpadelic is a band with a six album discography, and continues to tour -- primarily around their Dallas / Ft. Worth "home turf". They have a southern rock influenced rapcore style that puts them in a small musical sub-genre that includes Kid Rock. This music isn't often considered "socially relevant", and is never considered "tasteful", but I think it is worthy of a (quality) Wikipedia entry. I hope to be able to create that entry with your help. Best regards, Electrobrad 21:02, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
