D-Pryde edit

The article D-Pryde has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —C.Fred (talk) 04:38, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

D-Pryde was deleted because the article was about a non-notable musician. And before you take offense, please understand that I mean "non-notable" in the encyclopedic, wikipedia sense. In your original creation of the article, you noted that he was unsigned. That alone demonstrates that he fails our notability criteria (see WP:MUSIC). National Sorry Day edit

Thanks for the heads up on the link. It's been removed and blacklisting for the website has been requested. -- SiobhanHansa 21:56, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. It was an IP address. Since it was the IPs only edit and was made a couple of weeks ago I didn't ask for a block as many different users might access Wikipedia through it. I left a final warning so if they make another poor edit then any future editor who checks their talk page will hopefully think to check the contributions and look to see if it's a pattern. -- SiobhanHansa 01:35, 24 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

R&B Project edit

Count me in for the Wikipedia R&B project. I could use help with uploading images (I always do it wrong and they end up getting deleted). I have tons of pictures that could help the project and am constantly in the midst of some of the greatest R&B talents from the 90's. Updates about R&B artists and their projects cross me daily. Email me - same user name - on yahoo and let's get going! I would love to share the info I receive and see it documented for others to use. I look forward to hearing from you! User subpages edit

You asked at User talk:Jimbo Wales about how to create user subpages. I don't know if he'll personally get to answer your question, but since I saw your comment there, I'll answer the question.

Generally, any user can create a user subpage, whether they're an admin or not. The instructions at Wikipedia:Subpages describe how to do this. For example, you could create User talk:Mr. Old-Skool/Sandbox1 and then work on it as a subpage. WP:UP also gives some guidelines on user pages as well. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 00:32, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

To answer your other question: Yes, you can create a user subpage prefixed by "User:Mr. Old-Skool", such as User:Mr. Old-Skool/Sandbox1. It doesn't have to be in the "User talk:" namespace. I probably could have made that more clear. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 03:11, 26 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

You're joking, right? (lol) That instructions that you left for me may as well be in Japanese! I just can't get it. So very sorry. I will look at it again later and see if I get it, but like I said, I would rather email you the images that I have and get you to upload them to the project. I can write and edit all day, but images really throw me off. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Txcrossbow (talkcontribs) 11:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

2nd Nature edit

I don't know if you're still seeking an answer, but regarding your question on the TLC talk page, if you want to create a page about the band, simply name it 2nd Nature (band). Before creating the article, you should check out WP:MUSIC to make sure the band fits the criteria. Looking through the TLC article, it seems 2nd Nature didn't record, perform together or release any music when they were together so notability might be an issue. Hope that helps :) Pinkadelica Say it... 08:03, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're very welcome and thank you for the cookie! Pinkadelica Say it... 02:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I meant to tell you that you did a great job creating the article. I'm getting old and forgetful. lol I actually thought you were creating an article about 2nd Nature before they were TLC which is why I yabbered on about notability. I totally forgot about the other group called 2nd Nature. I need to get back to listening to good old school R&B again. Again, great job. We need more people creating good articles around here. Fair use rationale for Image:TheKnux.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TheKnux.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:20, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism Revert edit

LOL... thank you for the message. That made me laugh :-). What happened was that your page popped up as a red-flag on my anti-vandal tool, but instead of just dismissing it, I accidentally clicked revert (the button right next to it). So I immediately saw the dumb thing I did and fixed it. Sorry, I usually don't make mistakes like that but they do happen once in awhile :-). ~Beano~ (talk) (contribs) 02:48, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reply to your message: First of all, thank you for the barnstar. I really appreciate it. If you're looking for anti-vandal tools, a list of them can be found here. As I see from your monobook.js file, you're not using any tools at all. The tool I reccomend for beginner vandal fighting is Twinkle. Twinkle is a great and powerful program. It adds tabs and revert buttons so you can undo vandalism in one click, as well as warn users with one or two clicks of tabs. To answer your original question, Lupin's Anti-vandal tool was the one I was mentioning. I used it because it filers edits against a "bad words" list and will red-flag any edits that have them. If you have any questions about those programs, or how to install or use them, please don't hesitate to ask. I've used both of them before. Again, thanks :-)! ~Beano~ (talk) (contribs) 01:08, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:02-new-edition-101807.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Orphaned non-free media (File:2008 Never Before Heard.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:2008 Never Before Heard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Redd Stylez edit

A tag has been placed on Redd Stylez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Articles for deletion nomination of Redd Stylez edit

I have nominated Redd Stylez, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Redd Stylez. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Replaceable fair use Image:Teddy Pendergrass.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Teddy Pendergrass.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 07:06, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
