16:05:43, 26 April 2018 review of submission by Cowmanonemanband

Dear MatthewVanitas,

Thanks so much for your helpful review of my draft page (European Beat Studies Network). I have just a couple of questions. 1. What are the formatting/link issues? - I've checked the guidance and everything seems ok. 2. The issue with references that seem tangential to the EBSN is one I have been working to address, but now feel may be an issue of semantics. The EBSN is a network that only exists because of its members and its main function: conferences - in that sense the EBSN is EBSN members and EBSN events, therefore any source that makes note of someone's EBSN membership is a direct reference to the EBSN, as is any source about EBSN conferences. I have tried to restructure the page so this is highlighted, but I wonder if there is any other way to resolve this issue?

Many thanks for your help,

RickRhoads (talk) 06:49, 27 April 2018 (UTC)== Hi I am the subjects publicist ==

He is a well known filmmaker with a movie out now and an author and actor. What can I do better to get a Wiki article of him up? Any advice?

Thanks!

Please remember to sign your posts by typing "~" four times at the end, and also make sure you provide a link to the page you are asking about.
@RickRhoads:, the first issue to fix is you're confusing sourcing with WP:Wikilinks.
  • For example, when you write Brittney Powell you're using the "ref" coding to make it a footnote, but you should just be putting double "[" around it to make it a clickable wikilink. I'll fix the first two for you as examples.
  • Next, you have a lot of WP:Inline external links like mentioning a film and linking to its IMDB page. That's not how it works, just wikilink the word, and if the article for that film (or whatever) is a redlink (not yet created), so be it.
  • You have a weird formatting issue where you're dropping lines in the middle of the text, as though you were writing on a smaller page. Did you maybe copy-paste this from another format? If so, please use your delete key to make it so the lines of a paragraph run together and don't just drop a line in the middle of the screen. ANd leave one line between paragraphs to separate them.
  • If you're making this page because your employer told you to, you're required to report your Conflict of Interest (see WP:COIDISCLOSEPAY for how to do this). I would also emphasize that this is a page about Konkle, not one for him, so if something negative happens in Konkle's career that gets reported in the press, you have zero right to remove or change it as his publicist. A lot of publicists have made pages for people and regretted it because then they can no longer "control the narrative" so you might want to ask yourself if this is really a good idea, as opposed to LinkedIn or Facebook where you actually own the page.
  • Lastly, and this is actually the main issue: you've provided no WP:Sourcing at all. For every fact or series of facts you say about him, you need to have a clear source for where that fact came from; see WP:REFB for how to cite your sources. You can only cite Konkle's own page (or that of his employer, directories, etc) for basic facts like where and when born, but you must have at least three good citations to serious outside neutral sources.
Okay, I think those are the main things. A lot to keep in mind, but it's there. MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:03, 26 April 2018 (UTC)\

Thanks. No he is not my employer. We picked up one of his films. I will look everything over to figure it out. Appreciate it RickRhoads (talk) 06:49, 27 April 2018 (UTC) Rick

Abdullah Mashhoor Kunhikoya Thangal

Dear friend Matthew, I'll be very grateful if you'll please help me keep the Abdullah Mashhoor Kunhikoya Thangal page neutral in tone, well referenced and accurate. One editor, User:Moosathasleem, seems intend on making it a subjective and poorly referenced fan page. I cleaned up the page and he merely reverted everything. Request on 12:44:29, 1 May 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Lukas O'Connell

I need assistance because the term "sessionable" as noted has been widely applied in the wine industry but has never before been defined. I have defined the word "sessionable" for wine. Due to the term never having been used excpet loosly there is no source material to provide references for the use thereof. The terms for example is used as per the examples in my sources, numbers 2 and 3. it is also used by an internet retailer who stocks the wine. Unlike beer which reduces the alcohol content to become "sessionable" wine which reduces the alcohol content is called "light wine" and not sessionable. In the introduction of the various wines which comply with "sessionable" we have met no resistance or challenge as to our definition or assertions.

You gotta be kidding

You accepted Oyitty Thavorath Ravindran for publication into main space? Why? It's quite blatantly promotional, and the notability seems questionable too. The topic might possibly merit inclusion, but it's definitely not ready for main space. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:27, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

Castleman disease pages

Thank you so much for reviewing my pages about the Castleman disease subtypes. I was wondering if you would be willing to review the last of the new pages, Draft:HHV-8-associated MCD. I wrote it at the same time as the two approved pages and feel that it is of similar quality. Adding this third page will be the last step in a major update of the pages about Castleman disease.

OCFHR Rejections

HI Matthew Vanities, thank you for reviewing the page I submitted a couple days ago. You stated that you rejected the draft due to a lacking of citation "Most of your sources are about the law as currently stands. What you need is explicit coverage of OCHR itself, such as in newspapers, etc. that analyze the group and its significance." which I respect, however do not understand such notice as I have included links and references to multiple sources with "explicit" coverage (newspapers: http://www.dispatch.com/news/20180420/2-chardon-shooting-survivors-among-central-ohio-students-in-national-walkout, https://www.arlingtonian.com/archives/18378; federal arms: http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/C00677906/1228884/, https://projects.propublica.org/itemizer/committee/C00677906/2018, https://www.whartonproject.org/CFHR%20Documents/ViewPdfDocument.pdf) — Preceding unsigned comment added by KTAWharton (talkcontribs) 18:26, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

N before MINREF

Hi Matthew. I was just looking at User:Jeffreygreenman/sandbox, which you'd declined based on WP:MINREF. There's been some discussion over at WP:AFCP on the use of that decline reason, and I believe the consensus is that it should be used rarely. If the draft has footnotes then whether the refs in a BLP are inline or not is a formatting issue that can be resolved once the article has been accepted into mainspace. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation#Don't_decline_on_formatting. In this particular draft I would say the main issue is notability, and I would have rejected on that basis. Otherwise the author could spend time inserting some lovely inline references only to have the draft repeatedly rejected on the basis of N, and as you know notability can't be fixed, a subject is either notable or its not. Hello @LisaHadley2018: the formatting was a bit janky, but for AFC really our main priority is making sure the subject meets Notability, and you had a good amount of coverage for that, and dialed back the hype language, so I've published it a bit for you. In case you go on to make other articles (and I hope you will), a few tips based on my read of your draft.
  • I think you did a much better job than most folks of putting sources first. Too many people try to just "write what they know" about the subject and go back retroactively to try to find sources. What you want to do, and it looks like you did, is gather all your sources together, find the useful facts, and add those facts and immediately cite them to the sources. So you have some good skills there.
  • One thing you're kind of patchy on though: every footnote in the article should be a link that explicitly mentions the book. There's no need to prove any fact except facts about the book itself, so if a link proves that Joe Bob worked on Friday the 13th, but doesn't say anything about the book, you don't need to footnote to prove that about Joe Bob, for example.
  • Your footnote formatting got a little weird because you were trying to fix earlier footnote mistakes. It's not a deal-killer, but I had to smooth a few things out. The big thing to mention is that "external links" aren't allowed in the main body, so anytime you see something that looks like "[aljazeera.com Bob Smith]" with that little square box next to it, you need to instead either use a wikilink or a "ref" footnote.
  • With footnotes, you did a surprisingly good job using the "refname" format for when you wanted to use a footnote more than once. Though that might have been Auric using the ReFill automated footnote tool, but whatever. As a tip though, it makes life way easier if you give the refnames clear names, like don't do refname=":5" since you might forget which is which. If that footnote is for Bloody Disgusting, instead use refname="Bloody" or suchlike.
  • Don't use "&", just say "and"
  • If there is a person who doesn't have a Wikipedia article about them, don't try and link to their homepage, just don't be afraid to leave them a redlink if there's even the slightest change that someday they might have an article about them. Like: "Ben-Hur special effects coordinator Diamond Whackerson" and just don't sweat it if he has no article yet.
  • You have two sources at the end from AminoApps and Horrorpatch; try instead to get some interesting facts from those and add it to the article, and footnote to the source. If you can't find any interesting new facts about the book from those links, there's no need to list them at all.
  • The one format thing that I didn't want to unravel, but should be fixed, I left you a "cleanup" note at the top, so take a look at that and see if you can address it.

Overall, nice job about an interesting book, and I agree with the one reviewer that Howling III was laughably terrible, but some of the other ones were pretty solid. MatthewVanitas (talk) 23:25, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Could you take pity on a relative newcomer and explain?Jenhawk777 (talk) 01:52, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

No worries, you don't have to move the page, but reviewers tend to do it just to keep track of things. If you want to move it yourself, whenever you have a draft that's still in "/sandbox" the Yellow submission box will have a blank line to fill out to move it to the full title. Nothing to worry about, just formatting. MatthewVanitas (talk) 02:11, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
Every time I think I am beginning to get a handle on Wikipedia--I stumble over something else I didn't know. Wikipedia is good for one's humility.  :-) So a thank you is definitely in order then. Thank you. Jenhawk777 (talk) 04:19, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Help with the new article "Boulevard of Sabana Grande"

Hello,

I need help with my new article (proofreading). I was one of the authors of the article "Bulevar de Sabana Grande" (Wikipedia ES). I translated the text and added more citations/references.

Thank you in advanceQuinteroP (talk) 21:51, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello @QuinteroP: I mostly focus on drafts, so proofreading is not so much my thing. Have you tried asking at WP:Teahouse of GCE for a proofreader? Also, remember whenever you mention an article to someone, you should link it like so: Boulevard of Sabana Grande. At first I mistakenly though you wereasking about Sabana Grande, Caracas. In any case, nice work on the addition to English Wikipedia!
A small reminder (and I've fixed this for you already), whenever you translate a Wikipedia article, make sure to link it to the equivalent article on other Wikipedias. In the column on the left side of your screen, when you're on the Sabana page, if you scroll down to the bottom you can see a list of languages. Yours had no links to the Spanish version, so I clicked "add links" and linked it to the Spanish so now the two are connected. You may also want to read WP:Translation which offers good advice on linking and labeling your translations. Hope you'll stay around and do more too! MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:43, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Article Created

Dear Mathew,

If an article is created does that mean it will appear in the google search?
Also if there is a picture which relevant to the same article in my possession which Wikipedia is not allowing me to upload because of copy rights what can be done? The thing is that I took the picture from my phone but edited it by cropping the relevant portrait.

Help would be appreciated.

Regards, Anonymous Historian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anonymoushistorian786 (talkcontribs) 05:30, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello @Anonymoushistorian786:, always remember to link an article you're referring to, which I assume is Zia Ullah Khan.
  • Google doesn't index pages instantly, so it might take a few days before the new article starts showing up in Google hits.
  • Just because a photo is in your possession doesn't mean you own the copyright to it, and taking a photo of a portrait someone else took does *not* count as an original work or "own work". Unless you personally stood in front of Zia and took his photo on your camera/phone, you do not own the copyright, and should not upload it.
Hope this helps! MatthewVanitas (talk) 08:41, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

Accepted draft

I would argue that your acceptance of Draft:Myth (streamer) was perhaps premature. The sourcing is sketchy (famousbirthdays.com? Team SoloMid's own website? Even the Forbes source is from an independent contributor, not through their regular editorial content.) and the actual content of the article is kind of a hot mess (much of the text is grammatically incorrect to the point of being incoherent). This one might have wanted to percolate through the draft process a bit more. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:09, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Draft

You recently decline a draft I wrote for a novel term ‘Psyaudition’ but only on the grounds that the references did not use the term itself. You obviously don’t disagree that the phenomenon does exist and that the sources support the idea, just that the word itself hasn’t been used. It is a term I created but since it is supported by serveral scientific peer-reviewed sources, I don’t see why it should be declined. How would I go about seeking to add this term to Wikipedia? Jcarter723 (talk) 13:42, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

@Jcarter723: right, but that's the entire issue. You call it "psyaudition", what's to keep me from calling it "whompajoodle" and being equally correct? We have a short explanation at WP:Neologism, but basically we call things what the larger academic community calls them. We are not a place for one person (even if a legit PhD scholar) to popularize their personal term for a concept. MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:17, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello Matthew,

I thought I would alert you to two errors in your article on Emma Eames Chase. First, she never went by Laura E. Chase, so I am surprised that this is the name that you have identified her by. Second, she did not live with her family in Washington D.C. in 1880, they were in St. Louis, Missouri. This is also clear from the census record that you linked to.

Other than that, great work. What got you interested in her?

Feederism

Hi Matthew! Hope you're having a good day! I tried to submit a feederism article because many users continuously delete feederism content on the fat fetish page. It is currently impossible to flesh out the article with content about feederism. Feederism is a highly distinct part of fat fetishism to a point where its very contentious! I respect other users desire to delete content for their own comfort so I and everyone will be extremely thankful if you allow a basic feederism page to go up for now. Some user are fanatic pruners that will support their pruning with a rulebook yet will not discuss it nor desire to improve the page by replacing the content. Beyond a few sentences and hundreds of deleted edits in the history page, its as if feederism doesn't exist! NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018

Hello MatthewVanitas, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Deletion tags

  • Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.

Backlog drive:

  • A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Editathons

  • There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.

Paid editing - new policy

  • Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

  • The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Not English

The article for Louise Stanger

Hello Matthew,

Thanks for your help on this!

To the best of my knowledge, our team created unique content that is fact-based. Some information will necessarily overlap...because the data points are required.

Is it possible to request another evaluation of the same content with this in mind? Or, do you recommend that Dr. Stanger remove the “About page” on the http://allaboutinterventions site?

Thank you very much for your input.

Lide Magde (talk) 07:29, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

@Lide Magde: a couple things here:
  • In theory, if you wanted the "About" page to be usable here, you could add a mention at the bottom of the page that that specific page is released under a WP:Creative Commons license, similar to making it Public Domain. There is no such thing as "we release this content to Wikipedia but not to anybody else" because everything written on Wikipedia is under Creative Commons license, so anyone can use it for anything. There is no way to release the "About" page to Wikipedia but also maintain a copyright over it.
  • That said, there's really not any point releasing the "About" page because 99% of the time, someone's "About" page does not make for an appropriate encyclopedia article. An "About" page is meant to promote the subject, not objectively inform, and I have never once seen an "About" page that actually cited sources. Instead of using her "About" page at all, you need to use WP:Independent sources like news articles or books which have mentioned her. Does that make sense? Your GA nomination of Shivaji

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Shivaji you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Vanamonde93 -- Vanamonde93 (talk) 05:40, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Matthew, you've been active since the review began: since you're the nominator, I think it's fair to ask that you not leave all of my suggestions to others watching that page. Vanamonde (talk) 10:51, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

Re-assessment of newish page

Hi Matthew, you assessed my new article William Bolton (post-captain) as start-class the other day (thanks!), and I have been doing some more work on it since, including adding more categories. I was wondering if you could have another look and see whether it fulfils the criteria for C-Class at this point, or if you can indicate something in particular which is missing? There's not a huge amount more to be found on this man online, and short of pulling more detail out of one of the references, e.g. about his early career, or the rhapsodic eulogy about how wonderful he was in the long obit. (neither of which seem appropriate for a relatively minor historical character), I'm not sure what else can go in there.(I have not yet read or fully absorbed what further is required as far as those projects are concerned, but that will have to wait for another day.) Laterthanyouthink (talk) 05:43, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello @Laterthanyouthink: I actually don't really do classification stuff beyond Start/Stub, so I'm not the guy to ask. Nice work though, hope you'll stick around! MatthewVanitas (talk) 09:41, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh, thanks for that, @MatthewVanitas:! So do I just wait for a review to happen by some kind of routine, or is there someone else I can approach? (I don't suppose it really matters, but I'm just trying to get a feel for what qualifies for the different stages and how it happens.) Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:54, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
@Laterthanyouthink: short of Good/Featured article, there's not a huge amount of significance to the ratings. To the best of my knowledge, I think you can rate your own page too. I would just look up the requirements for a C rating, and if you feel the article meets it, change it to a C, and maybe leave a brief Talk page message explaining that you self-reviewed. No need to give a whole checklist, just a sentence or two would be fine. Take care! MatthewVanitas (talk) 11:21, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
Okay, will do, thanks again, @MatthewVanitas: and you too! :-) Laterthanyouthink (talk) 12:43, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

RAW Pressery page deletion

Hello MatthewVanitas, Hope you are good. This is regarding the page that you had approved from the AFC submission list - RAW Pressery, A user Mar11 has marked it for deletion. Can you help me figure this out if it really should be deleted? I have also written to him on his talk page. When you approved it, the article was a StartClass and now if you see the edit history, lot of users have tried to make edits. The article could have a better future if not deleted. Raw Pressery is trying hard to educate the people of India about the concept of Cold-pressed juice. Cold pressed juice being free of preservatives, artificial flavours and chemicals is a very healthy (and a much needed) alternative to the other tasty but non cold-pressed juices available in the market. I have also observed that Raw pressery promotes a healthy lifestyle among the masses through their Yoga/exercise related events/workshops etc. and they not only care about the health of the people but also that of the environment, through their initiative called RAWcycle, which is about creating polymer based tshirts/clothes by recycling the plastic (their plastic bottles). I have not added this information in the article because of lack of better and noteworthy sources. All of these facts about the brand and it's growing popularity among the masses inspired me to do some research and write this article. Hope you can take some time out. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akash1221 (talkcontribs) 11:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Elias Polk

Hello. Thank you for creating Category:Former slaves. I was thinking of creating Elias Polk, President James K. Polk's former slave. However, in this obituary, it says, "Elias had grown up with his master and was never a slave." Do you think this is a Lost Cause turn of phrase/wishful thinking?Zigzig20s (talk) 21:22, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

MatthewVanitas - Thank you for the generous offer and kindness displayed within.

Thank you for the generous offer, I would be honoured to take you up on this offer. Is it at all possible for us to talk over another medium, e.g. via email or Skype? I am struggling, as a new editor, to find and respond to conversations on here. Hopefully once I get the hang of this we could come straight back to the preferred place to talk. If you could teach me a little bit, offer some guidance & advice, via the aforementioned avenues first, it would of course be very much appreciated.

Do let me know if we can do this!

Thanks again. (CanisLupisArctus (talk) 03:11, 3 June 2018 (UTC))

@CanisLupisArctus: I just use Talk pages, but if you post here on my Talk, I will definitely see it, and when I reply to you and use the "ping" like I am here, you will get a highlighted alert of a reply at the top of your screen whenever you visit Wikipedia (while you are logged-in). What questions do you have? MatthewVanitas (talk) 03:15, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
@MatthewVanitas:I am fearful of editing articles because last time I tried I ended up being the subject of allegations of vandalism and conflict of interest. I am sure I'm not guilty of either of those accusations. The person that made them I believe was the person whose material I edited, which was factually incorrect, so I corrected it. They then reverted it back. 1) Is it considered COI for a person that is the author of comments being revised to be able to have another editor warned, and revert their own work back to its original factually incorrect form? 2) How can one get around this, as I have been reluctant to actually edit a page since this happened...I just suggest edits on talk pages, at the moment. I feel I could contribute a lot, with relevant citations, particularly on articles that I am qualified academically to contribute to. But the process is a very slow one while suggesting the edits on the talk page. How can I go about speeding this up and/or protecting myself from unfair accusations if I do edit an article myself?

Thanks again, really appreciate your help. Wikipedia is tough to get used to at first!

re david eeles studio potter

I am a newcomer to wiki so I started this article about the potter above using an obituary from his website

I had hoped to update it

David Eeles was a very important 20th century potter he deserves a place in wiki

Can you tell me why you have disallowed it please

Additionally could you help me out with it please by setting some parameters

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juliamichell (talkcontribs) 21:56, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello @Juliamichell:. A few points:
  • While obituaries are okay for *limited* use like uncontroversial facts like where/when someone was born and died, they're not good to use for "claims to fame" since obituaries almost always praise the subject and/or are written by colleagues and friends who are not neutral parties.
  • What you need to do is to base the key facts in the article off of neutral, professional coverage of Eeles' career.
  • You can only say what you can source, so don't just write what you know then go back and try to find justification for it, instead assemble your sources and write only what is proven in the sources and cite your sources as a footnote right after the fact it proves. See WP:Referencing for beginners for how to code footnotes.
  • A good guideline as to what content an artist bio should include is WP:Notability (artists).
Hope that's enough to get you headed in the right direction! MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:01, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

O'Connell

Re: Draft:Sessionable Wine

I ACCEPT YOUR DECISION BUT AM PERPLEXED AS TO HOW A NEW CONCEPT WILL EVER BE ACCEPTED AS THERE IS NO SUPPORTING DOCUMENTARTY "PROOF". WHEREVER I/WE SELL THE PRODUCT THE "DEFINITION" IS ACCEPTED, EVEN BY INDUSTRY PER GROUP LEADERS. IT IS/WAS OUR INTENTION TO MAKE THE DFINITION AVAILABLE TO THE CONSUMERS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT.

I THANK YOU FOR OUR RESPONSES ET AL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lukas O'Connell (talkcontribs) 10:58, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello @Lukas O'Connell: in answer to your question, a new concept can be accepted once there is documentary proof. This is kind of like "if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear, does it make a sound?" If a given idea exists, and no professional is documenting it, it certainly does exist, but there is no body of objective facts publicly available about it.
Here's the 10-second version of our core policies:

So in summary, once wine magazines, or major newspapers, or books about the food business, etc start using the term "sessionable wine" then we would certainly need an article about it. But lacking any evidence that the term is recognized beyond one/several vinters, and informal sources like Twitter, blogs, etc. we simply don't have neutral and objective documentation of the facts about this product and its significance. Your GA nomination of Shivaji

The article Shivaji you nominated as a good article has failed  ; see Talk:Shivaji for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Vanamonde93 -- Vanamonde93 (talk) 17:21, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello @Vanamonde93: thanks for the update. I just wasn't able to keep up with the GA because I applied for it when I had quite a number of free weeks ahead of me, but with the long delay in being picked up (not blaming you, GA is just backlogged) by the time it got rolling I was tied up in other off-wiki things, as you can note by the dramatic fall-off in my wiki presence in the last month. This was further complicated by a number of editors coincidentally (non-sarcastically) arriving with strong opinions about the article, after almost a year of the article being extremely stable, so it also complicated by ability/willingness to respond as opposed to the point when I filed, when the article was almost a one-man show.
I appreciate your taking the time, and the article is improved overall, and maybe someday I'll apply again when I have another clear spot of time for a while (and long enough to account for GA backlog) and there are not multiple editors with differing opinions arriving between the nomination and its commencement. Thanks! MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:34, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
That's understandable. There's plenty of suggestions to work on, in any case, and I think the article would be close to GA status if those concerns were addressed (with the qualifier that I hadn't looked to closely at the sources). If you renominate it, I would be open to reviewing it again, so feel free to leave me a message. Vanamonde (talk) 06:04, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
