" I want to make the title match the name in the biography" edit

Does that mean you've written a biography about yourself (other than as a portion of your userpage to help people understand who a contributor is, etc etc? - and one doesn't place the same categories on a userpage, generally, it's not in the same "namespace", etc. ... it goes on...)? If so, please read

Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines

and in particular

The key rule is to not write about yourself, nor about the things you've done or created. If they are encyclopedic, somebody else will notice them and write an article about them.

Very much hope you will join our project and apply your knowledge to creating a more helpful and useful encyclopedia, musical and otherwise, and that you have already done so- just that this is one of the rules within one understandably works here! Moving your user talk page edit

Welcome!

Hello, Maestroukr, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

  • Please do not move your user or user talk pages to the article space. This makes it impossible for people to communicate with you; and it also makes it apparent that you are using Wikipedia as a vehicle for self-promotion. Please do not write articles about yourself, or include yourself in other articles. While I wish you well in your career, we cannot use Wikipedia as a promotional space; it's one of our core policies, which you will see in the welcome template above. Please also look at the Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines as noted by Schissel above. Thank you, Antandrus (talk) 00:53, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yuriy Leonovich edit

Lets see, second party sources, simply what has been written about Yuriy Leonovich that was not written by him, by his friends or by his agents. Are those that have written about him considered reliable, i.e. music critics, arts and culture reporters at major newspapers. Where there quotes on websites of TV stations etc. that you can use. That is the first step to create an article. Have fun AlfPhotoman 17:46, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Indicating where to find it is enough, for example Title publication's name (number if periodical) date. A little warning though, it is tempting to include articles that have a one-line mention. There are enough editors on wikipedia that also read these papers and sooner or later it comes back---HARD AlfPhotoman 19:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Better yet, the guideline states: A topic is notable if it has been the subject of secondary sources. Such sources must be reliable, independent of the subject and independent of each other. The depth of coverage of the subject by the source must be considered. If the depth of coverage is not substantial, then multiple independent sources should be cited to establish notability. Trivial, or incidental coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not sufficient to establish notability. Once notability is established, primary sources may be used to add content. Ultimately, and most importantly, all content must be attributable

AlfPhotoman 19:53, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

You don't have to scan the clipping, if you can cite the paper it was in, the date, the title and the author that is OK, if someone does not believe you he/she can move his/her bulk into the next library and check it. The online references are better in the article. Create a section (if it does not exist) by putting == References == at the end of the existing text text and after thatlist like :

  • reference 1
  • reference 2

....

  • reference x

lots of luck AlfPhotoman 22:23, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Handel - solo cello edit

There is indeed a Passicalia Theme and Variations for Violoncello solo by G. Handel as I have it before me at this very instance!!! Just because you do not know the piece please do not delete before you investigate about it. It is a great piece! Very difficult to play . In fact there is a recording of it here [1] played by Tim Hugh (a very fine cellist indeed and well known!) But even he does not play all the Variations as printed. I do have the CD as well! You can find it on that page CD 2 down by # 14. And it is indeed for SOLO CELLO! Swanstone 18:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The CD says it was "arr. Halverson" as you can see (CD2 # 14) My music, which is a russian edition says in Russian the name " Дынова " as the editor/ arranger. As far as I can translate the name would be something like Dynova or Dinoff. ? I do know the version for Violin and cello as I have played it many times. And this definitely is based on the duo version. Swanstone 20:24, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

"arr. Zinoviy Dynov" Thank you so much for finding that! I have been wondering for years who did the arrangment. Bravo! Swanstone 20:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Would that be "Zinoviy Dynov" or "Zinovij Dynov"? Swanstone 21:00, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The edition I have of the Handel is an old Russian one. I would imagine that it is out of print. But I could be wrong. I havn't been to Russia in a few years.Swanstone 17:50, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Davidov-Karl.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Davidov-Karl.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

fact tag edit

Presumably you have a reason for removing a fact tag while not providing citations? I do not doubt the facts provided- but someone may, and a citationless Wikipedia page is considered a bad thing (by me. By others. By the guideline pages of this site.) for good reason. Wikipedia:Citing sources (and more importantly, Wikipedia:Verifiability) does not exactly cover this case, but apply sense: the page should not be without citation, and the habit of just removing fact tags with nothing else done is not one to get into. Proposed deletion of Cello Concerto in D minor (Cassadó) edit

The article Cello Concerto in D minor (Cassadó) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced for over five years, fails WP:V

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. An article you recently created, Friedrich von Mulert, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?)
