Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Drugstore (band) has been reverted.

Isabel Monteiro

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Isabel Monteiro, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Drugstore (band). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 04:35, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re:Drugstore Artwork+photos

edit

Hi, thanks for choosing to release the images, but I'm afraid Wikipedia will need some kind of proof that you have released them. If you could send an email to the address given here with an explanation of who you are and that you are happy to release the images (state the name of the license of your choice or just that you're happy for them to be released into the public domain) as well as links to where you have uploaded the images, that would be great. You can then tag the images with the text "{{OTRS pending}}", which will show as a box explaining that the email has been sent, so they are not deleted in the mean time. Apologies for the fuss, but Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and this will mean that there is no confusion later. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact me on my talk page. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Mini isabel drugstore.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 20:39, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I'm User:Protonk, an admin here on wikipedia. I've just spent the last 15 minutes deleting images that you uploaded and claimed were your work but which were clearly the property of Drugstore or their label. I know that you've gotten a dozen computer generated warnings and messages and bells and whistles, so I figured I would stop by to make a plea. Please don't upload copyrighted material without acknowledging the source and adding a fair use rationale. We are the free encyclopedia, it is our goal to establish a resource that can be used and reused with as little copyrighted material as possible. We can accept copyrighted images but only if they are marked as such, otherwise people who use wikipedia down the road could end up inadvertently stealing copyrighted material. In order to avoid that, people like me have to go around and delete images en masse. I don't like doing that, but it has to be done. So please, don't add to my workload or any other admin's workload. Keep improving the encyclopedia, but please stop uploaded copyrighted material. Protonk (talk) 08:48, 14 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello there, I understand your concern about copyright, but I have cleared and received full permission to use this photo from the ptotographer. REF: photo file delete (band shot by andy willsher). I have followed the directions from Wikipedia, and have received 'clearance' from the photogr pher with full permission to use this picture. An email from the photographer Andy Willsher was sent appropriately, granting full rights to upload/copy etc. So I see no reason for the photo to be deleted.Lovelyshopper (talk) 06:54, 5 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

your statement that "i have received clearance" is NOT sufficient. Content on Wikipedia must be clearly and verifiably released BY THE OWNER for use by ANYONE or clearly marked as copyright material that is being used under very special and clearly identified criteria. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:04, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Drugstore

edit

you've got to let people change the Wikipedia page you know Well if there is a word done wrong or something why not change it so it makes sense and the references are just from their website ok, it would be good if you kept the sub heading things though

its much better, can I add in the thing about the new album, I think its quite important

Drugstore

edit

do you know or have anything to do with drugstore and Isabel monteiro or are you just an uber drugstore fan because I think it was you who wrote the thing about the best of album and the new studio album before it was announced, just a thought.

Yes, of course I know the band, have been a fan even before they were signed, back in the day.I grab a lot of news about the band via their Facebook Group. you can even send Isabel a direct message, and she always replies. The Best of news was on the FaceB many weeks ago. Probably good idea to SIGN your messages here. All you have to do is add the link below at the end of yr message/ thank you. Orphaned non-free media (File:Drugstore 1st album.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Drugstore 1st album.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Orphaned non-free media (File:Songs for the jetset.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Songs for the jetset.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Please stop recreating inappropriate articles without providing appropriate sourcing

edit

Please stop recreating articles for albums and songs that do not meet the basic criteria for having a stand alone article. Merely existing does not mean that it is "notable" and it is the burden of the person adding or restoring content to provide appropriate reliably published sources via in line citations to verify all claims. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:00, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

I dont think you actually read WP:BURDEN - adding "external links" is NOT providing inline citations for every claim made/restored. And you still would need to establish significant coverage about the specific subject of the article has been published.
and that other articles have spam walls of external links in contravention of WP:EL does not mean that we should be extending that practice. We are an encyclopedia and not a social networking or promotional platform for the subjects of the articles. You need to specifically identify what the value of each link might be and why it should be included.-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:26, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
if you want more time to collect and add sourced content, then you can create a WP:SANDBOX outside of live article space such as User:Lovelyshopper/Albumimprovementspace where you can draft an article and bring it up to sourcing standards before moving the content to "live" Wikipedia article space. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:30, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
following other bad articles is not a great idea. following policies is not only a good idea, it is required. Following the examples of articles that have been gone through review and been awarded WP:GA / WP:FA standards is generally a good idea if the sources/content/situations are in the important aspects similar so that the same rationale can apply. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 12:33, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Isabel monteiro shot by andy willsher.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Isabel monteiro shot by andy willsher.jpg, which you've attributed to Andy Willsher. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 05:06, 3 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
