I recieved a note from you stating this pic is up for deletion. On the image's page the following is given as the reason in the tag:

"This image or media has a non-free use rationale that is disputed because of the following concern: Images from music videos should be used in the article about the song, not the article about the band."

The name of the song is "Volcano Girls" and is by the band Veruca Salt. As far as I can tell this image is only being used in the song's article, and not for the band, so I'm unsure why the pic can be deleted for this reason. Thank you. Kresock (talk) 17:55, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, I don't like the fact that ACW goes off on their own doing things contrary to standard policy and the WP:GTL either. If you're going do things the opposite of everyone else, on your own program, then these sorts of run ins are bound to happen. Couch boxes

Howdy. I was looking at your recent Couch edits and noticed the boxes at the bottom of the article (which I recognize you did not add). The succession lists for corps level organizations are really pretty silly. The II Corps had about 30 commanders during the war, many of them for only a few days at a time, presumably when the regular commander went on leave or was filling in at the army level for another temporary absence. I am not going to mess around with the article while you are editing it, but if you would join me in quietly removing these boxes over time, I think that would be a reasonable course of action. By the way, although I do not care much about it, why did you decide to delete the list of battles in the information box? Hal Jespersen (talk) 14:25, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

I had a similar problem in the previous edit with one of the "simple English" articles. Quite simple indeed. The only thing I can say is I am grateful that the frequency of such foolishness has greatly diminished over time. A couple of years ago, I would deal with many, many dozens of vandalism reversions per day, but nowadays I often have to deal with only a handful. One of the factors is that there are a number of reliable editors now who catch these things before I do. And I think the kids are all completely consumed by Facebook anyway. :-) Now if I could just keep the decisive and strategic victory guys under control... Hello again, sir! Some questions on Couch. One: got anything about his Mexican service, why/how he got his brevet? Not overly important as most ACW guys got them then, just wondering. Two: I began to expand on his Civil War stuff, but I'm not as good as others at the in-battle stuff; could you take a pass at Seven Pines for me? Three: Scott Mingus added the Gettysburg militia stuff to the lead back in '06 and it has been slightly expanded on since then. I feel it doesn't belong there as is, and should be summarized then added to the appropriate sub-section as I go, but unfortunately I cannot cite it. Can you? Darius N. Couch

The material on the PA militia came from my book, Flames Beyond Gettysburg: The Gordon Expedition, June 1863. It is based upon material from the Official Records and from the late Al Gambone's Engimatic Valor: Major General Darius N. Couch. After touring the battlefield, and discussing with the local folks, it seems that calling these brave boys "enemy" is not reflective of the spirit of the park, or the honor that they deserve, yet, you apparantly undid these minor changes. before I repost, is there a better way of portraying this?

Isaac J. Wistar

I enjoyed your article on Isaac Jones Wistar. His journal is amazing. He writes about almost being killed by Indians while traveling across country in the Gold Rush; about arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court, and about the battles he fought in during the Civil War. If you ever see it in a used bookstore, BUY IT! I've bought 3 copies and given 2 away as gifts.
