Regarding your redaction at this article's talk page, I assume it was someone noting the identify of a particular contributor. I am not sure anyone was actually revealing anything that is not already public on Wikipedia, as the user in question edited Wikipedia under their real name until last year and that account still exists (they "retired", apparently in a huff after being blocked, and then started editing under another account, returning to exactly the same article set). I'd actually be interested to know what to do in cases like this; I commented at the ANI thread but wasn't sure whether I could link to the account in question (despite it being extremely obvious that it is the same person). They were particularly concerned about location in their email to Oversight, and stated they had retired because of these ELs, so I suppressed that content. I see that one of the IPs in the ANI thread is now CU blocked, and yeah, one can draw a conclusion from that, but we can't make it explicit. If you want to take it further, an email to Arbcom is your next step. It wouldn't surprise me if a bunch of blocks get dropped on a bunch of folks before they stop dragging their stuff all over the drama boards. Katietalk 04:36, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
