Speedy deletion nomination of Kolonat edit

A tag has been placed on Kolonat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. December 2009 edit

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Mexico national football team. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. GoPurple'nGold24 00:08, 19 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Mexico national football team. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. GoPurple'nGold24 06:28, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of List of countries were The Penguins of Madagascar airs edit

I have nominated List of countries were The Penguins of Madagascar airs, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of countries were The Penguins of Madagascar airs. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Shadowjams (talk) 09:04, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

2010 FIFA World Cup (video game) edit

Hello Kanzler, I'm just dropping you a note to let you know that I've removed the 'key features' section from this article because it is copied and pasted from Fifa Informer. It is very important to avoid copying and pasting copyrighted material into Wikipedia, please see WP:COPYVIO. I'm concerned that despite the article being protected to prevent an anonymous user adding this material, you've since readded despite several editors trying to keep it off the article. Please take a look at the WP:COPYVIO link. Thank you. Someoneanother 01:10, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I've reverted the teams list again, for the reasons already stated on the article's talk page. Please feel free to discuss it there if you feel strongly about it, though I should say that while articles you mentioned in your edit summary, such as PES 2010, FIFA 09, etc. may have such lists, they shouldn't, so it's not really a justification in this case. Thanks, Miremare 18:24, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've made some comments at Talk:Proto-English. Could you give me some pointers to the literature you have based this on? Cheers, -- Fut.Perf. 20:53, 30 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Astore Sports edit

A tag has been placed on Astore Sports requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Kanzler31! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 942 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Mutual intelligibility edit

Hello. You recently added a citation to a book from the "Webster's Quotations, Facts and Phrases" series published by Icon Group International to this article. Unfortunately, Icon Group International is not a reliable source - their books are computer-generated, with most of the text copied from Wikipedia (most entries have [WP] by them to indicate this, see e.g. [1]).

I've only removed the reference, not the text it was referencing. A lot of similar references have been removed as they are circular references; many other editors have also been duped by these sources. Despite giving an appearance of reliability, the name "Webster's" has been public domain since the late 19th century. Another publisher to be wary of as they reuse Wikipedia articles is Alphascript Publishing. Fences&Windows 00:01, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re-File talk:Human Language Families (wikicolors).png edit

This map is an updated version of the original -File:Human Language Families (wikicolors).png- by User:Ishwar. In upgrading the image I made many changes. Added missed off islands like Mayotte, Palau and the Solomon Islands. Moved the Falkland Islands further south. Reversed some of the overzealous hatching of native languages/Indo-European Languages. Made the colours more distinct by darkening some like Tamil/Dravidian and Georgian/Caucasian. Added mostly Indo-European speaking African cities like Lagos and Dakar.

I agree with you about Nigerian Pidgin English in Lagos, etc. I've updated it. French, Portugese and English occer in many citys in Africa.--Wipsenade (talk) 18:03, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I also added the Papuan language isolate, Kuot to it now! ----Wipsenade (talk) 15:42, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
