Your edits

Kindly stop reverting my edits. Those edits were made by a sockpuppet of a banned editor, therefore they are reverted per the banning policy. One Night In Hackney303 10:56, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

No problem. Basically the editor who made them is a prolific sockpuppeteer, and regardless of the merits of them they are reverted. Even any new pages they create are deleted, no matter how good they may be. It's the only way to stop them editing. I've have had no objection if you just reverted a couple of them, just rolling them all back at once defeats the object. If you want to make the edits a couple at a time over the next couple of days I'll turn a blind eye though ;) One Night In Hackney303 11:16, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Keith Dabengwa

Thanks for expanding this article; some nice work there. I do, however, have concerns about his "7-1", as discussed both on the article's Talk page and at WikiProject Cricket. Can we really regard that very incomplete scorecard as a reliable source? Loganberry (Talk) 15:29, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. One Night in Hackney's answer to me pretty much said that individual manual changes are okay even if they replicate a banned user's edits, but that automatic ones aren't. I don't want to get into politics here so will pass over the rest of your comment except to say that I'll keep those other bios in mind for when I have a bit of time spare (if nobody else does it first).
On a more general Zimbabwean note, we're also not helped by the fact that Zimbabwe Cricket refuses to talk to Cricinfo, as mentioned in this article. Loganberry (Talk) 22:27, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Alan Knott

Thanks for pointing me to the online version. I'm not sure, though, since it does headline itself as a blog, and some people don't like using blogs as sources, even ones like this. In the paper paper (if you see what I mean!) it's a standard-looking article. I won't go reverting if the link gets changed though. Loganberry (Talk) 23:33, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Corfu or Cyprus? Sorry its been delayed in getting back to you; I've only just found your message - I think this is a rare mistake by the Guardian (:, I've added three citations [1],[2][3]), including another from the Guardian; there's also a photograph of him celebrating his 60th birthday in Cyprus here.[4] I live some of the year in Cyprus and he's a well known resident.

Finally, if you search for "alan knott" corfu in google, you get very few hits and they are largely derived from the wikipedia article; if you search for "Alan knott" cyprus you get thousands of independent hits.Apepper 15:18, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Eastbourne Herald

Thank you for finding a link to the Eastbourne Herald which gave me credence for the source I used in the Ollie Rayner article. That's precisely the source I quoted from, and I wasn't aware that it had been transplanted somewhere else. Bobo. 15:43, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Duckworth/Lewis Method

Thanks for your support for my reorganization of the Duckworth/Lewis page. There appears to be an anonymous user who is particularly and annoyingly married to the previous order. If you would make some comments on the D/L talk page that might help start a useful discussion. Thanks! Shannonr 13:48, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Herbie Taylor

Thanks for your good work on Herbie Taylor, a cricketer who deserves to be much better known than he is. I reckon that his performances against Barnes in 1913-4 are amongst the greatest in cricket history. JH (talk page) 20:01, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Sonia Lannaman Vs. Kathy Cook

Aha! I see. Okay, well you're right. Wind Assisted times do not count, therefore we'll have to have a clean up of that page. Also inside times do not count on that list, I don't know if there are any there. But maybe you'll help clear the page up. Sorry about the mistake. Peterwill 13:58, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Just a Question

What is up with the "Test/County Statistics" you have labeled for yourself? With international debut and everything? I think you need to make it clear that that is fake to avoid confusion. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.102.3 (talk) 03:52, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

Mann Egerton article

The company history has got a remark left over from an earlier edit - starting "in 1973 and ...". Perhaps you know what it should say!

"In 1964, the electrical department was sold to the Westinghouse Brake and Signal Company. Mann Egerton was acquired by Inchcape plc in 1973 though its woodworking business continued until bought out by the management in 1986.

in 1973 and continues as a brand of car dealers across East Anglia."

Doug Padgett

Good work on finding a solid source for the "youngest player" fact. As it happens, I've since found it mentioned in my 1980 (1st edition) of CMJ's The Complete Who's Who of Test Cricketers, but would have had to qualify it with an "at the time" or something if I'd used that in case someone else had broken the record in the last 27 years. Padgett does have a (very brief) entry in my 1952 Who's Who in World Cricket, but the entry only states that he made his debut in 1951, not whether it broke any records.

The CMJ book does mention that he became Yorkshire coach, so I've put that in as a reference for that fact. Also, the BBC page you found (more good work) is solid enough to use for the Vaughan-related quote, so I've integrated that into the article and used it as the reference. Since we do have a specific reference for the "slow play" comment, I've made that into a numbered footnote and removed the rather pointless "Wisden, various dates" reference below it. Finally, I've removed the "Quotes" section since, as you said, we already have a Wikiquote link. Loganberry (Talk) 23:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

139.184.30.135 Anon User

Since your note to this user the IP has continued making some questionable edits. Here [5] no edit summary, maybe correct, IMO "Romance" or "Romantic" is better. Here [6] removing a sourced reference with no edit summary or discussion. Here [7] inserting a link to what appears to be a web comic unrelated to United Media. This may be a university IP thus not all the same person. Franamax 23:42, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Len Hutton

So who was the previous pro captain? --LiamE 14:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Cheers. You learn something new every day. And I have to say, if ever there was a cricket article that needed a little love its that one! --LiamE 14:33, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Srinivasaprasad

JP, I am planning to get Madapusi Srinivasaprasad moved to M. R. Srinivasaprasad because that is the more commonly used form. Hope you won't mind. Tintin 09:08, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

CI and CA expand the initials for every player without considering how they were actually known. I am familiar with Srinivasaprasad because while I was growing up, the team that I support used to play Karnataka regularly. Tintin 09:22, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

1999-2000 Indian cricket season

Well spotted. Trying to do too many things at once, methinks. I've redirected it to the right article now. Thanks for letting me know and all the best. --BlackJack | talk page 10:48, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Quiz Scores

I found out why I couldn't get them to add up. We had two question 618s. I noticed this when your update got the same scores as mine did. Poor WillE lost a point though :) KingStrato (talk) 12:50, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Reverted edit

I have remade my edit to the Underarm bowling incident of 1981 article. The edit was a correction of the quote made by the commentator. Please do not revert this edit again. --Demi Zenith (talk) 09:26, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

For your information

Hi, please see User talk:Richard Daft which follows on from a revert you did a couple of weeks ago. Best wishes for 2008. --AlbertMW (talk) 16:45, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
