Actual I think the two articles refer to one and the same thing. I think they can be merged, and I can clean up on the references e.t.c

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Gaidher, please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. Proposed deletion of Ajni edit

The article Ajni has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This page has no real content or notable reason for having an article page alone..

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Tuna Port edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tuna Port, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://tunaport.com.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. AIV edit

AIV is not the place to vent your spleen. If you disagree with a page move, you can move it back and/or start a discussion on the talk page. AIV reports should be reports of vandals and should be formatted according to the AIV instructions along with a very brief comment on the nature of the problem. you might like to consider requesting an outside opinion if you;re in a dispute with an editor. Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways edit

No - I will not move it back.

The article was too big and I have followed MoS guidelines in splitting the page up into smaller articles.

THe reason it has been nominated is that neither the new page Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways nor the original page Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya have any inline references.

I am an experienced editor and am well versed in MoS and policy. You would be better off concentrating on getting the articles better referenced instead of attacking other editors. Next time read the deletions nomination page Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kutch_Gurjar_Kashtriya_contributions_to_Indian_railways and do some work to help.

Chaosdruid (talk) 09:45, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your prompt reply. Do not take it personal. I am not questioning your sincereity. I was concerened as the page was originally created by me. I definately help you in copy editing the materials. But right now I am pre-occupied with some other work.

However, please note that the contributions in Railway, whole section is taken from the Book : Nanji Bapa ni Nondh-pothi, which was published in 1999 from Baroda. This Book was given award by Kutch Shakti at Mumbai in 2000. The other books from which mainly Railway contribtions are taken are : Kutch Tari Asmita & Ratna Bhagat ni Chopdi. Names of all these Books, you will find in Reference section of original page. Further, I would request you to add back the names of Railways companies for which they have worked, whole para has been deleted by you. May be because there were many red links. I was doing a research and was going to create the pages of Railway Companies, names of which, now everyone has forgotten. Thanks.Jethwarp (talk) 10:04, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Are you aware of the copyright issues arising from copying directly out of a book ?
Nevertheless the section was deleted as it is a list of railway companies and lists that long do not belong in articles. It should have been in a separate article titled "List of railway companies worked for by the Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya" or something similar
You can easily look at the list and copy it by clicking on the history and " 07:12, 16 January 2011" which gives you [1]
I suggest you work on it in your sandbox until it is acceptable.
I am more than willing to help anyone who is trying to improve wikipedia - I do not respond well to confrontational attacks...
Chaosdruid (talk) 10:07, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
You may be interested in this page which is about the history of the railway system History of rail transport in India and has many railway companies listed. Chaosdruid (talk) 04:36, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your suggestions. Please note that I am also experienced editor and have created many pages and improved lot of pages. So do not treat me un-like one. The page you have suggested has also been in past edited by me. I am rather more interested in seeing that you do something about the page Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways like citing references from list available as you have mentioned in [2]. Good Luck and thank you.

As you are mainly responsible for putting in the information without any inline references can you not see that these two articles do not have the correct citation formatting. If you read the boxes at the top of the page on Kutch_Gurjar_Kashtriya you can see that it has three messages:
The article is in need of an expert
it may be too long
Its references would be clearer with a different or consistent style of citation, footnoting or external linking
This means that the article needs references which show where the information came from. Have a look at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and you will see that there are inline references everywhere. Most of the Indian articles I have come across are poorly referenced and with 80,000+ articles there are many repetitions of pages and a lot of work needed to fix these problems.
Please have a look at Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Citing sources, Wikipedia:When_to_cite and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (footnotes)
If you cannot understand that one of the most import parts of an article is readability, in other words easy to read and not just a big list of things that get boring after five minutes, then you really should take a look at some other articles and see how most of the rest of Wikipedia is written and referenced.
I ahve included some examples on the KGK page that show how the railways list should have been dealt with. Chaosdruid (talk) 12:06, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Dear Chaosdruid,

I am very well aware of headings, that is obvious. You do not have to teach me about it. I have created more than 40 pages like Sant Mekan Dada, Barot (Caste), etc. So, please desist from preaching about wikipedia guidelines. That is why someone had put, that this article needs attention from an expert and obviously you are not an expert on the community about whom the page is. Further, as far as in-line citations are to be given. The article is huge, the citations are available but I do not have time right now ( as I am involved in some health problems ). I have done lot of research on this community personally and own many of the books referred. But the problem is that, right now I am not in a condition personally to cite in-line citations, as it is a huge work.

Further, you done copy editing & created new page Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways, which has been nominated for AfD (obviously), and which will expire by seven days. And I am not in a position to help you right now. For, me you timing of copy editing was not good for this article. Besides, the para you have deleted about list of Railway Companies for which KGK had worked was put in header but you want to prove that only you are correct. The para was about KGK and Railway and was fit for this section.

I had therefore suggested that you move back Railway section to original page and later on other issues can be sorted out. However, my concern is that a good article ( about History of Indian Railways ) will be lost.Jethwarp (talk) 13:28, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways edit

Hi

I realise it is a setback to have the article deleted. Unsourced material is the biggest problem in Wikipedia and as the closing admin has not accepted the bibliography I am also a little upset that the article has gone.

I am trying to get the text put into a sandbox so that it can be worked on and hopefully this will be done.

Railways article edit

Hi

I hope all is well with you after your trip to the hospital.

Although it was deleted, an admin allowed me to put it in my sandbox area so that references can be added and the article tidied up and Wikified.

Once the work is complete we can try and get it back in the mainspace as an article again, but that means a lot of hard work between now and then.

At the moment the article is at User:Chaosdruid/Kutch_Gurjar_Kashtriya_contributions_to_Indian_railways. I would ask that you do not move it from there until the work has been done as it will reflect badly on me and the admin's trust I have may be lost :¬)

Anyway best wishes and get well soon :¬) Chaosdruid (talk) 19:07, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Babaria edit

A tag has been placed on Babaria, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Article size edit

Hi

I cannot believe you have recreated the railways again.

I told you that the best way forwards was to work on the undeleted version in my or your sandbox. You have ignored me and made the article a ridiculous size again.

It is unfortunate that this material is not correctly presented. I will give you a week to remove all the unecessary details to your sandbox. THere should be a seperate article on the railways and lots of the family details are not encyclopaedic and should be removed. If you wish to keep them for your own use that is ok, but it is not ok to leave them on Wikipedia.

I am sorry but after our last set of discussions I thought you understood how Wikipedia works. I must remind you again that to be included material must be notable, verifiable and published. Chaosdruid (talk) 17:37, 18 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have moved the railways stuff to your sandbox where you can continue to work on it. User:Jethwarp/Sandbox
I suggest you begin to do the same with the coal mining material as well. A list of 30 names is not "to name a few" Chaosdruid (talk) 17:42, 18 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi Chaosdruid, as the new page on railway work you created while copy editing was removed because it lacked in line citation. I thought it to re create the old version with in line citations which were missing in whole page, where ever available. I do not personally own allegiance to any names mentioned in article. They have been taken from the books ando translated here and the book reference cited. So that in future any one could bi-furcate the railway section with citation, just like you did. However, all information given is from published sources, the names of books given. Obviously such minute details of history of Indian Railways early days can not be figment of my imagination.

Instead of adding back info in KGK I also actually wanted to create a new page again on KGK and Railways, as the community's history is incomplete without mentioning the railway section but was afraid that it would be contested like earlier one, which even an experienced person like you could not save.

I would now prefer to leave KGK page as it is, as editing or adding valuable info has become a pain in neck for me.

Further, I would like to thank you for your good wishes, when I was sick earlier. I am now hale and hearty. Thank you. Jethwarp (talk) 03:42, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

You were right though! The article is not deleted, it was just moved out of the mainspace so that the citations could be added. Once you have finished we can recreate the article and, as it now has citations, it will not be deleted.
Please do not give up, just carry on with it in your workspace and once you think it is ready let me know and we can go over it. The original material is in my workspace and I will copy it over to yours at User:Jethwarp/Kutch_Gurjar_Kshatriyas_(KGK)_contributions_to_the_Indian_railways
Glad to hear you are well again ! Chaosdruid (talk) 14:06, 20 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi!! Thanks for your encouragement and support. I will add citations and improve upon railway/kgk article in a few days and let you know when it is ready. Cheers!!!Jethwarp (talk) 04:11, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi!! Chasodruid. I have put the citations in page User:Chaosdruid/Kutch Gurjar Kashtriya contributions to Indian railways as well User:Jethwarp/Kutch_Gurjar_Kshatriyas_(KGK)_contributions_to_the_Indian_railways. Both have same content but I would like that you put up your page instead of mine as it was the one which was archived as per your request and put it up again to be listed. I hope this time it will pass through. Jethwarp (talk) 05:25, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, well done! unfortunately there is still a lot of work to do!
  • Citations - I have added some "citation needed" to the first section. We will need to find refs for those facts.
  • English grammar - The article is not very good English (as well as lots of missing "the" and has some peacocking words) I will need to go through it and correct the English mistakes.
  • Sections - the text needs splitting into sections. I suggested that they whould be either by date (XXXW - XXXX, XXXY - XXXZ) or by region (North/Gujar) etc.
  • The books seem to have disappeared. Any that were on the list but are not used as refs should be re included as ==Bibliography==

Once that is all dealt with then we can think about getting it put back up. Chaosdruid (talk) 11:22, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I WILL RE LOOK IN TO IT. Jethwarp (talk) 06:21, 23 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have added some details as needed, I may further add in future. Further, the Railway works are listed in chronological order. I have also given names of books in Gujarati scriptJethwarp (talk) 12:34, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I leave correcting grammar and other corrections to you as you are expert in it.Jethwarp (talk) 15:07, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi again

Unfortunately it is not that simple, I have a couple of things I need to do before I can look at the article, it will probably not be until Monday or Tuesday. It is such a big article, and there are so many corrections to do, it will probably take two or three days for me to go through it all. You should expect us to be ready to put it up by the end of the week.

The article is 14,000 words, something that will definitely take at least six hours as the English is so bad. For example:

  • "After completion of Pamban Bridge at first lines were laid up to Pamban Junction. From here the railway lines bifurcated into two directions one towards Rameshwaram about 6.25 miles up and another branch line of 15 miles terminating at Dhanushkodi. Both these lines for South Indian Railway were also laid by above said Mistris of Kutch namely, Manji Daya Wegad with Lakhu Devji Vegad both of Anjar along with Gangji Narayan of Khedoi & Varjang Harji from Nagalpar between years 1910 to 1914. It may be worthwhile here to mention that of the above lines, the metre-gauge branch line from Pamban Junction to Dhanushkodi was abandoned after it was destroyed in a cyclone in 1964. The famous Boat Mail of last century ran on this track from Madras-Egmore up to Dhanushkodi from where the passengers were ferried to Talaimannar in Ceylon from years 1915 to 1964"

Becomes:

  • "After the completion of Pamban Bridge, the first lines were laid up to Pamban Junction. From here the railway lines bifurcated into two directions: one towards Rameshwaram, about 6.25 miles up; and another branch line of 15 miles terminating at Dhanushkodi. Both these lines were also laid by the Mistris of Kutch: Manji Daya Wegad with Lakhu Devji Vegad, both of Anjar; Gangji Narayan of Khedoi; and Varjang Harji from Nagalpar between 1910 and 1914. The famous Boat Mail of last century ran on this track between 1915 and 1964 from Madras-Egmore up to Dhanushkodi, from where the passengers were ferried to Talaimannar in Ceylon. The metre-gauge branch line from Pamban Junction to Dhanushkodi was abandoned after it was destroyed in a cyclone in 1964."
  • Here there are still a couple of problems, e.g. incorrect capitalisation in "famous Boat Mail". It should be "famed boat mail service".

As you can see that is a lot of editing and there is approximately 80 times that amount of material. I appreciate that there is one ref at the end of the paragraph but, with technical articles like this, do not be surprised if editors start adding citation needed once the article is back up again!

I am sorry that it is not going to be as quickly as you wished, but I am one of the coordinators of the GOCE project and we have a drive starting which means I need to work on the robotics project and prepare for the GOCE drive. Chaosdruid (talk) 04:24, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have had another quick look and added the original bibliography as a "Further reading" section. The bibliography contains too much text and bad link as html links. The format for these sort of things are laid out in various pages, [[3]] and Footnotes for example.

Ok. I am aware that u are one of coordinators of GOCE project. So improve upon the KGK Railway page whenever you get time. I will also do it from my side. We are not in a hurry to re list the page. Man!! One thing I must admit u are a perfectionist.:)Jethwarp (talk) 07:19, 27 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that you contain many images depicting nudity on your user page. I am requesting that you remove most of the images. It appears that you are hosting the images to make a point of the fact that Wikipedia is not censored to the extent that your user page is not being used for its correct purpose. Pl note that I have full right to use images on my user page. You may have found it vulgar. However, I had a re look at my page removed a couple of images which I found bad in taste. Further, I am not using my page to highlight Wiki:Not Censored policy. I am rather a art and erotic art lover and therefore like to add images which appeals to me. Although, I was not bound to give u a reply and may not do so on this topic in future but doing so this time as a goodwill gesture. Speedy deletion declined: The Envision Manifesto edit

Hello Jethwarp. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of The Envision Manifesto, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this does not come within the scope of WP:CSD#G1 which specifically excludes "poor writing, partisan screeds... implausible theories... ", . Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 09:29, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Calcutta, Prinsep's Ghat.JPG edit

A tag has been placed on File:Calcutta, Prinsep's Ghat.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Tera, Kutch dates edit

Please note that Vikram Samvat dates are not appropriate for general dates in the English Wikipedia - only articles specificially dealing with the Vikram Samvat calendar, such as Vikramaditya, should use VS dates. In all other cases, the AD calendar takes precedence - see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#Calendars for an explanation of the policy. Michaelmas1957 (talk) 04:17, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

If that is the policy than there are lot of articles [5] that link to Hijri year year followed by Muslims. All their articles mention Islamic year along with AD calender dates. I can cite lot of such articles. But I am not arguing against anyone. The point I wanted to high-light is that when it comes to religious matter in Hindus & Jains they also like to know which was the year of construction or any event as per Vikram Samvant. So that is why I mentioned VS year in date of construction. If that is the case than there would no articles linking to Vikram Samvant. I would then request you to remove all dates of Hijri & Vikram Samvant from all the listed articles. Jethwarp (talk) 04:27, 3 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Kutch Gurjar Kshatriyas (KGK) contributions to the Indian railways edit

Hi

I realise there may be some reason for you doing it, but I have removed the 14,000 word article (the one that was deleted) you put into List of Indian railways worked on by the KGK. That list article should have nothing more than a brief description of the background, perhaps 200-300 words.

What you have done is try to get around the deletion of the KGK contributions article by putting it into the list article. There are several problems there.

  1. The material does not belong in a list article
  2. There was too much material (14,000 words) to be included in a list article
  3. The material has over 20 problems regarding WP:MOS

I offered to help you with getting the article ready for putting back into mainspace, to that end I had it in my user space where we could collaborate on fixing the problems. You ignored this and have continued to do it in your own workspace. THat material has so many problems that it is as bad, if not worse than, as it was when it was deleted. Italics, bold face, bad prose, bad english, the list goes on and on.

I suggest you try and get this sorted out. Please do not fall out with me over this, I have tried to help you and am still willing to, but I cannot do so if you continue to ignore me, refuse to collaborate, or continue to try and get the material back without fixing it. Please, and I emphasise please, do not try and put it back into that list article - nothing good will come of it. Chaosdruid (talk) 06:24, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello!! Chaosdruid. Hey, Wish u a Happy 2012 buddy. It has been a long time since we talked. I just saw archives and it was in July 2011, when we were working on MOS style and other things. But you got busy in your GOCE project and this project got shoved. May be it was not proper to put it in list article. Should have informed you but I thought page must have been on your watch list and noted it by now. Anyway, I also got busy over creating other articles. Tell me you have any idea how b4 p it in main space. Jethwarp (talk) 06:48, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Happy new year to you too :¬)
Well, basically it needs to be worked on a lot. I understand that you have done a lot of work on it since March, so perhaps we should switch to working on the copy in your workspace.
The main issues are relating to MoS. You were supposed to go and read some of the MoS pages so that you understood more of what the problems were with the article as it stood, things like WP:ITALICS, WP:LIST and many of the basic MOS policies as outlined in WP:MOS
Then there are things that need addressing concerning the prose and structure of the article and text. Sentences like "The blah blah blah - the blah blah blah" repeated multiple times, bad grammar and English, so many problems and far too many to mention here. I think it needs to be gone through section by section with me pointing out what needs working on and then you trying to fix it. Hopefully I can start on that in the next two days, I will let you know tomorrow (well today now) after I have been to bed.
It may take some time, but you really do need to get reading the mos pages and the ones on structure of articles. I will make notes on the discussion page in your owkrspace and see how we get on from there. Chaosdruid (talk) 07:01, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
PS I have over 4,000 articles on my watch list, and 1,000 edits listed on it. Even so, my watchlist normally can only display a maximum of 36 hours of changes, any edits done over 36 hours ago would not appear on the list and so I would not know those edits have been done. Chaosdruid (talk) 07:14, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will see ur notes & work on article in my work space. Jethwarp (talk) 07:23, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Category:Railway stations in Tamil Nadu edit

Kindly refrain yourself from adding towns and villages to Category:Railway stations in Tamil Nadu as you did here. You may add specific articles on railway stations like Coimbatore Junction. And renaming the category to maybe Category:Towns in Tamil Nadu with railway stations might help, but I feel it will be overwhelmed with numerous entries. I have also noted that you have similarly categorized other towns and villages in Gujarat, Bihar etc. to name a few. Suraj T 11:24, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

AfD and PROD notifications edit

Hi Jethwarp. Back in November, you got either an AfD or PROD notification, and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested (there are links on the page), that would be very useful. (You can also email me at swalling wikimedia.org if you want.) Thanks! Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 22:25, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
