How do you do it?

Hi there!

How do you revert vandalised pages so quickly. I must be doing it wrong somehow because you are always one step ahead. Is there some non-manual way or am I missing something obvious here?

Cheers GetDownAdam 18:52, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Congo

That was an accident. The page had been vandalized and I was trying to revert it to a previous version. I inadvertently reverted it to a version that had also been vandalized. 68.47.72.196 07:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

JFreeman abuse of power

Abusing his power by deleting perfectly factual information because the user enjoys fast food. That is the charge, how do you plead? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.113.199.109 (talkcontribs) 20:58, 15 December 2006

Sorry...I don't answer to idiots. Get a clue and stop vandalizing pages. --JFreeman (talk) 05:03, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Boulder, CO page

Dear JFreeman, Although I appreciate your diligence in following the Boulder, CO page, this was in fact not a test. The town of South Park is not fictional; it is near Fairplay but distinct from it, and I have been through both. I am assuming that you will change this back, thank you.

Regards,

Gilbert Lemieux —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 140.103.180.215 (talk) 04:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC).

Gilbert,
Thanks for your message. I think you're probably thinking of South Park City, an outdoor museum in Fairplay. The entire basin in that area, of course, is also known as South Park. However, I don't believe that either of those would qualify as "the town of South Park". Finally, the USGS Geographic Names Information System database[1] does not show a town named South Park in the area. So I stand by my reversion of your change.
You're welcome, of course, to see if there is a consensus otherwise. I recommend that you bring up the matter on the Park County talk page, since that's where Fairplay and South Park City are located.

This is a University of Rochester account

Please don't ban this IP address... it is used by multiple students at the University of Rochester and what one user does does not reflect what other users do.

What test?

I got a message from you about a test, or experiment? I don't know what you're talking about, I just clarified a term by making it more specific. Before I edited the page, it refered to a bi-continental region from which the show Futurama originated. However, the show was produced in the United States. My change reflects this fact. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.29.18.55 (talk) 23:41, 16 December 2006 (UTC).

71.29.18.55 23:42, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Your change, which I reverted, is preserved here. Do you really think changing "American" to "Yankee" helps to clarify the article? Sorry...I just don't believe that, and I stand by my reversion. Please limit your edits to those that will really be helpful. Thanks. --JFreeman (talk) 03:43, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

USMC Museum

Thanks for your comments on my Talk page about the photos I added to the USMC Museum article. I took many more, and if you'd like to see them, they are on my personal [2]website. I thought the museum was wonderful, a fitting tribute to the many men and women who dedicated so much of their time, and even their very lives, to this great country. RE: H. Pylori - Newbie

I apologize for the infraction I’m still trying to wrap my head around all of this. The best way to learn is to make a mistake I guess. Sorry again. Although I do feel that the link offers an explaination of what a breath test actually is, and is appropriate as an external link. Due to marketing and regulatory restrictions it is not possible to sell this product to users so is not intended to generate website traffic or promote a product. I do understand that it could be more generalized though. In fact why do I get the feeling I am posting this to the wrong discussion page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.148.128.30 (talk) 18:47, 15 January 2007 (UTC).

what the f***cont...

dude what is your problem, i used your Jessica Biel page as a template for a page i was making. i made a mistake, and thought i fixed it. it is not like i actually "vandalised" your work by adding grossly inaccurate facts about her, at the worst i can remeber doing is adding a gallery to it. That is hardly grounds for calling someone a "vandal". But you have got to be more understanding (like your quote of the day says "So if you encounter a mistake by a new user please do not bite the newbie.") for new users like me. i don't know enough "Wikiquette" to make a homepage for myself. About your reversion to adolescent sexuality

As i've said to an anonymous IP address user, PLEASE discuss changes on the Talk page before making them.

And if you do decide to revert, Please expalin why. I made some Good additions to the article and fixed up a LOT of stuff, (I forgot to login the last two times however) But anyways, Try and be more careful in the future as it's Really annoying to have just contributed to an article and to have it reverted... Again.

So annoying... --___-- So annoying... --___-- second time in 5-15 minutes too that changes have been reverted.

Hope you understand,

P.S. I will revert your edits until yopu explain them on the talk page and allow for some discussion so that this article can move along. Nateland 05:34, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh sorry... my mistake

Those edits to what I wrote..

I forgot to login O_O! Sry, can't really remember my IP address all that well. (MY bad), if you did revert it thinking it was vandalism then excuse the above, if not, follow my advice.

I had made a mistake in the return place.

I made a mistake and attempted to return 68.193.120.19-san to editing, but it made a mistake and had returned it until Bobo192-san to editing. I returned to the editing of JFreeman-san once beforehand because it was. I broke in the inconvenience. --Naohiro19(Talk Page/Contributions) 00:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Kuru's AFD

Many thanks for your strong support before and during the AFD process - your kind words are always greatly appreciated. More importantly, thanks for your continuing great work on all of the Texas related articles. I could swear there's only six or seven of us with a good chunk of them watchlisted; at least that how it feels sometimes! Anayways, thanks again, and hopefully I can put the new buttons to good use. Get your facts straight before you leave message to people

Next time, go over the exact history to see what I've tried to fix...

There was a comment in the article in all caps, I tried to take it off with revert, but it didn't work for whatever reason. So then I simply delete that particular sentence with section edit.

Instead of jumping into conclusion and start "warning" people, learn to confirm before accusing.

Vandalism

I know you think you're the wikipedia god, but I'm getting really tired of seeing messages every time I go on certain pages. I get your message, now get your crap off of my page before I find someone to ban you. 128.194.211.65 20:03, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. 128.194.211.65 20:33, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

My reply can be found on this user's talk page, if he hasn't already deleted it along with the vandalism warnings he's gotten. --JFreeman (talk) 22:10, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

1) I didn't make a personal attack. There is a page that gives me repeated warnings that I don't have to look at whenever I use wikipedia. I removed the messages when I see them because I don't have see them everytime I use wikipedia. The messages kept popping up, and I thought you removed them, so I came back and said 'thank you'

2) I have never vandalized a page. The real vandalism on wikipedia is where people write crap that gets passed on as the truth. If you have a web site that has edit boxes on every page, expect people to put their two cents in.

3) Who the hell are you to ban anybody from anything? Do you own wikipedia?

Would you like to block 216.101.58.15?

Hi, JFreeman,

I see on 216.101.58.15's talk page you have already blocked him. He has just vandalized Black light (and already undone by someone else). I see his user talk page is full of warnings, so I thought rather than warn him again, you could handle it in an appropriate manner, possibly by blocking again, which I can't do since I'm not an admin. Thanks. --DBlomgren 03:14, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate entries in WP:AIV

Hi JFreeman, I noticed that there have been duplicate entries to WP:AIV and I suspect it's because you're using something like VandalProof to report these IPs. I hear VandalProof has an option of sending a report to AIV at the same time as issuing a warning to an IP. If so, perhaps you could remember to deselect that option when you do multiple reverts on a single IP's edits? Thanks, Deathphoenix ʕ 19:49, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the message. I don't use that option in VandalProof (when I use VandalProof), so that didn't cause the problem. I did run into a WP server "zero bytes returned" error a time or two, and perhaps my resubmissions after those errors caused the duplicates. At any rate, I'll watch more closely to try to not send any duplicates. Thanks again for the heads-up!

--JFreeman (talk) 20:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Ah, okay, it might be related to WP servers. Just thought I'd give you a headsup in case it was VandalProof because I'd also noticed multiple test warnings from you on those IP talk pages. Thanks for responding! --Deathphoenix ʕ 20:26, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Spam link warning on Colorado

Hello,

I'm a bit confused. You sent me a message about puting inappropriate links under Colorado, but I didn't add any. If you have more information, I would like track down the problem on my side and identify who, if anyone, has been abusing the wiki.

I appreciate any efforts to keep the content clean and free of marketing and I want to make sure everyone here is adhering to that.

Thanks.
