School/Institution Vandalism edit

This area is relly not a talk subject, rather an apolgy. I am making an effort to aplogise to all those who posted a warning on the Julian Jr. High Talk Page. On Behalf of the under educated and crude wiki vandalizers at my Jr High, I would like to apologise. Our IP adress has been blocked, and I want it to stay that way. This is an insult to this encyclopedia. Again, I apologise. Thank you.

Why did you add two more warnings to theis talk page when they hadn't actually vandalised ast all after my warning? I took the liberty of removing one of your warnings as being OTT in the circumstances.Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 21:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

contrary to illustrious the paragraph that was no doubt copied and pasted on how I'm a spammer, I'd like to clarify that i'm not. I'll discuss things in the talks section before writing in articles next time.

Go back more... edit

The version I saw was clearly [[1]] when I did my edit. Is it my fault that Wikipedia had a delayed edit (like always?)?

Again, use your brain before accusing someone of vandalism, especially going warning happy.

On Warnings edit

Just an FYI, you have warned me twice for editing articles that I've never touched or even read. You need to exercise caution when reporting and/or warning unregistered users by IP address, as I do not have a static IP, nor do the 1500 other individuals with amongst whom this IP address rotates. 12.150.23.178 21:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism & 206.173.167.194 edit

User 206.173.167.194 recently vandalized the chicken (food) article, and viewing his/her talk page, I noticed they had many warnings, the most recent of which was from you. As a relatively new wikipedia editor, I don't know how to block them. If you could look at their recent vandalism, and block them if you see fit (as you said would happen if they continued such behavior), I'd appreciate it.--Grendlefuzz 10:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

duplicate warnings? edit

I've been blocking a lot of vandals you reported today, and I've noticed that you often give multiple final warnings within minutes of each other. Is there a particular reason you do this? I know it's not wrong or anything, but it seems like a less ideal use of your time. Natalie 17:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

I replied on Natalie's talk page. --JFreeman (talk) 17:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, it doesn't seem like a bad thing at all - just unusual. For school vandals, also, I suppose there is a chance that the user has changed within those few minutes. But mostly, I was just curious about your logic. Thanks for indulging me! Natalie 17:49, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! edit

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for the great information you gave on how to stop vandals. I've encountered a few annoying ones in the past few weeks, and being able to easily find the links to report serious & repeated vandalism as well as templates for warning messages has been useful. I appreciate it! Keep up the good work with helping new wikipedians! --Grendlefuzz 22:53, 21 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nevada vandalism edit

At 01:18, 7 April 2007 (UTC), you warned 66.32.146.127 and reverted the edit for adding incorrect information. However, 66.32.146.127 was actually reverting 72.129.108.101's vandalism (changing the date of Nevada's separation from Utah from 1861 to 2007). I edited Nevada to correct that date. I was unaware that my links were considered spam.

I don't own these pages and I thought they would be considered good content for your site.

I have read your warnings and will not post on this site anymore until I learn the correct way to go about doing so.

Recently Removed History of Civil Rights Litigation on Williamson County edit

I was very distressed to see that you had removed Procyon Lotor's historical discussion of recent civil rights litigation in Williamson County and I want to see that material restored immediately. You say it was removed because it was "opinion" or viewpoint, when the truth is that EVERY fact asserted in that article on civil rights litigation was (a) a matter of public record and (b) links were expressly stated to the public records described. Your removal of this material was irresponsible. Not all truthful history is comforting or flattering, and the subject matter of Civil Rights Litigation in Williamson County may well NOT be comfortable to some people, but it is ALL true and ALL verifiable and Procyon Lotor provided ALL links sufficient to confirm ALL the facts which were stated. Your removal of this historical information about ongoing litigation seems to express YOUR viewpoint and opinion of what the truth may be. What Procyon Lotor provided was verifiable true history which was calculated to avoid problems such as this one. Local history needs to be told just as accurately and carefully as National history. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Procyon Lotor Linnaeus (talkcontribs) 07:26, 23 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

Although the tone of Procyon Lotor's addition on Litigation in Williamson County, Texas, was not neutral, I suggest that that he submit a revised section that sticks to verifiable facts and provides cites that allow the reader to verify those facts, with no editorial commentary expressing a point of view on them. It is certainly appropriate to include material on a political jurisdiction that there is litigation there that may be of interest to readers. 207.11.113.30 15:17, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

biting the newcomer? edit

JFreeman, I think that with 72.134.55.98 you bit the newcomer. It was his first edit ever, he added things testing formatting. (diff) I know that wasn't the right place for him to test, but giving a message like that (level 3 test) suggests that he's been doing it repeatedly and on purpose to be a vandal, instead of just being new and not knowing better. --Mini-Geek (talk) 00:47, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

(responding to the message you left on my talk page)
I think that instead of that, it would be good if, on your first post, it gives a message saying something to the effect of "If you want to test to try out formatting on your first post, please use the sandbox." And yeah, we all make mistakes. --Mini-Geek (talk) 15:16, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
