Rivalries in the National Football League edit

As I said, I agree with your opinion on deleting those sections, however, I feel it should be put up for discussion as what one individual may deem trivial, myself included, the fans of the teams involved may find to be important. Superman7515 (talk) 01:05, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

2003 NBA Playoffs edit

I have reverted your mass removal of the text from 2003 NBA Playoffs. I'm not an NBA fan, but that text appeared to give a fuller explanation than is available without it. I suggest that since you said "needs to be completed" in your edit summary, you fix that text instead of removing it then later adding a new set. Remember the audience is not all from the USA or NBA fans. --Scott Davis Talk 06:08, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Portal:Baseball/News edit

Many thanks for catching my omission with respect to the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game; I'd intended to format and pipe the links precisely as you did but neglected properly to preview/proofread.  :) Joe 04:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

KNDD Trivia edit

Well, that was certainly one for the 'duh' file! Obviously, I didn't check the dates on MY OWN research. Very well done rewrite, but I thought the date The Marconi Show debuted was in fact Dec. of 2003 - no one around there seems to remember, but a couple of online sources do concur with that. I should note that I've been an editor here at Wik for a couple of years, but the only time I've encountered ANY controversy has been on that damn KNDD page. It's a good thing I chose to use an Alias of the Week..... Roz666 17:01, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Edit Summary edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Cocoaguycontribstalk 00:51, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

TV announcers edit

How do you find out who the TV announcers are for the all star games? I've noticed you've added them in a few places I omitted them and I have no idea where to find that information. thanks. --Bachrach44 13:55, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I actually just referred to the article List of Major League Baseball All-Star Game broadcasters when filling in the TV sections for the articles. Highway99 18:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

1982 New York Jets season edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 1982 New York Jets season, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://pandapedia.com/wiki/1982_New_York_Jets_season. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 06:15, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

question about new york jets template edit

Hi, Highway99. I see that you converted {{New York Jets}} to the Navbox format back in January. Did you receive any feedback as a result of this change away from the football box format that most of the nfl teams are currently using? I would appreciate any thoughts on this as I am contemplating jumping in and converting one myself. --Gwguffey (talk) 05:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, I didn't notice any feedback to me or elsewhere in the community, aside from a few other team templates being converted to navbox format. I personally went ahead with the change after I saw {{Chicago Bears}} and tried to match that as closely as possible, since I felt it was the best NFL team template I had seen. Which template(s) are you considering converting? Let me know of what assistance, if any, I can be. --Highway99 (talk) 05:51, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Specifically, I'm looking at {{Carolina Panthers}}. Generally, I just don't think that the fball-based setups play very nicely with other templates as they don't collapse and are of a different width. So, it's kind of like they hoard vertical space and come across as presumptuous about their importance on each article. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. --Gwguffey (talk) 14:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

NBA Draft External Link Edits edit

I would love to know how my website is classified as spam when it is perhaps the most comprehensive NBA Draft site on the internet. As a Draft Historian I am very confused the purpose of Wiki to give open source information. For some reason Basketball Reference is given a free pass while my site is blacklisted by users. It makes me wonder if there is some sort of payment system set-up or something. I have studied the NBA draft for 15 years and have yet to find a site on the internet that gives the full scope of the NBA draft history like mine. Since 1950 to present day we have profiles, scouting reports and college stats and every player drafted in the first two rounds. If I come off frustrated or offensive I apologize I just am very irritated by the lack of respect my site gets in regards with wikipedia users. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give me.(Thedraftreview (talk) 02:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC))Reply

The article ESPN Sunday Night Football results (1987–2005) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NOT#STATS and WP:NOT#INFO, similar lists has been deleted in the past and nothing changed consensus wise.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
