Here is a link to a book chapter in which a distributed Wikipedia is discussed: When knowledges meet: Wikipedia and other stories from the contact zone. The book, Critical Point of View, a reader in Wikipedia Studies. Centre for Internet and Society (Bangalore, India) and the Institute of Network Cultures (Amsterdam, Netherlands), was published in 2011. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ifidragonfly (talkcontribs) 17:32, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I would definitely add in explicit refs to the bits of Xanadu that talk about distributed versioning of text and links, both via transclusion and otherwise. There must have been a number of proposed implementations long before the 1990s. SJ+ 22:05, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is a cool page, which I didn't realize I wanted to see until I saw it! Nice work. Kat Walsh (spill your mind?) 19:30, 13 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

I put down some ideas on this topic under the RFC page, we'll see some action yet. Also, +1 for the CPOV reader mentioned above. Adamw (talk) 00:17, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
